#4095403 New track "City Lights" + Updates

Posted bareblar03 on 08 April 2014 - 03:30 AM

Thank you guys very much for the kind words. I appreciate it - I'm driven to succeed unlike anything else I have ever done. I'm glad to have had you guys in my life over the past few years. Even Ayra and Treeqt. :P

I've been going around to open mics and one actual "show" which I got invited to because of someone I met. It was awesome and very fun. I got invited back on May 3rd to perform and I plan on doing so. I'm hoping to have 3 new songs out by the end of the month for that. I've got 3 concepts in mind:

"I love cheese and chicken strips" the true story, bro.

Sarah Palin Parasailin in Paris Nailin'.

Also a letter addressed to my father who passed away two years ago. He was everything in my life and he died disappointed in me.

I'm driven to overcome that shadow over my life.

I want to spread love and kindness in his honor, he was always generous and kind. Kind, to the point where he actually endangered our family financially. He had crazy ideas that actually worked. I know in my heart that music is that crazy thing of mine.

Thank you all. From the bottom of my heart.

"Keep the fire alive inside you." - Baron X.

Posted bareblar03 on 29 March 2014 - 08:52 AM

Hey, it's been a while but I'm back. I finally finished my first actual track. It's titled "City Lights" and is a statement toward society and our dependence on technology and lack of humanity.

I performed the track on Thursday and got invited to do another show on May 3rd. Life is good. I'm going to keep working hard and keep improving.

I'd really appreciate your thoughts on it.

Here's the track from three months ago together with a video that has screenshots for explanations of bars.

I ended up winning the battle in votes 8-0 and iLLusion literally did "get ghost" given that he hasn't been on the site since haha. I feel bad given that I'm always willing to help people on the forum and it never makes me happy to see someone leave the site especially when it's because of me. :(

trying to think how to make like fuck ton of money with what I have +your rapping

100k isn't even much but w.e if I team up we can get like 3mills np but how do you make moneys off music is idunno

It's all about marketing and networking - I'm not worried about making money right now since I don't have a "product" so to speak given that all my tracks are for battles against netcees. Once I get money (and after I have enough content to put on a disc and expect to sell) I'll buy a Lightscribe and make some snazzy discs and a case. I'm also going to see about performing at local establishments (again, once I have a product) since that is the best way to make money with music.

Oh, and I'm going to start a record label rather than try and get signed to one. I'd rather make less and keep more of it than make more and keep only a tiny fraction of what I've earned.

Oh, and once I have a fanbase large enough YouTube ad revenue is profitable as well.

It's a long and hard road to success but I've got three pairs of shoes and I'm deadset on reaching my destination - for now I'm just focused on continuing to improve. :P

Hey, I'm back with another track - it's very short since I only had two hours to write record and mix but here it is. Let me know what you think!

The topic I was given was "Hell on Earth" - I chose to interpret that creatively and use it as a chance to make a statement about the horrid state of society.

The guy I was facing ducked the battle but it's finished already so I figured I'd let you guys check it out.

#3911977 Bare's Music Thread

Posted bareblar03 on 11 July 2013 - 08:34 PM

So rather than continually flooding the forum with new threads I'm just going to use one thread to get opinions from you guys on my work.

If you weren't aware (somehow) that I've been hard at work trying to learn to rap better and freestyle as well, well, I have been. I'd call it a hobby but at this point it's more of a love - I never had the ability to play an instrument or anything growing up.

I started freestyling in November, about 8 months ago - Since then I've improved tremendously because I literally have been working daily to improve.

Anyway, since this is a new thread I suppose I should walk you through a timeline of how bad I used to be.

This first video I uploaded in 2006, I was a Moderator on a Hacking/Warez forum called KwickFix and they had a rap battle thread, I decided to post a troll verse and even went as far as recording it on my webcam.

Be warned, I only posted this video to show you just how bad I used to be.

Then, last year, I decided to try again and work on a League of Legends Parody for the Songs of the Summoned contest

I tried my heart out to make something decent and ultimately I fell short of the mark.

So fast forward a year to November, my friends Craig and Dennis convinced me to join their "cypher" - I didn't even know what a cypher was at that time. They just spit bars back and forth and I stood like a deer in the headlights. It took me TWO FULL WEEKS to say a SINGLE WORD.

I tried doing it in my car and slowly got better although my flow was absolutely awful.

I decided to make an investment and bought a Microphone under the rationale that I gamed a lot anyway so why not spruce up my voice quality?

Well, we spent the next two weeks pretty much doing nothing but recording and boy was it fun. I really did fall in love with the feeling of creating something of my own.

Day one baby, the GoPro and weed on the table, Audacity ready to go and a brand new Microphone to pour your heart and soul into.

Well, fast forward to today - I've improved significantly and I've been hard at work trying to keep on improving. I've been getting more and more Soundcloud views and have gained a few Subscribers but I won't stop improving my craft, I want to revive rap music and legitimize the genre as an art form rather than just something "those people" listen to.

I'm not an idiot, I have an immense (sometimes frustratingly so, I sometimes have to dumb down my wording so that people will understand everything I want to say) vocabulary and I want to put it to use.

Anyway, here are some of my recent tracks grouped into categories:

Completed Tracks:

Nothing yet :(

Works in Progress:

Text - to Audio (written as text then tried out on the Microphone):

and I also decided to start fiddling around with FL Studio 10 yesterday, I've made 5 sound clips so far while I've been learning the program (in the order that I made them):

I'd really appreciate input on any and all of these, I know that a lot of you don't respect rap but as a fellow longtime member of this community perhaps you'll respect me enough to give something a listen. :)

#3902906 Todd's Toe

Posted bareblar03 on 21 June 2013 - 05:55 AM

Let's talk about Todd's toe,
as far as mods go
Breadstick is a god fo sho,
his toes are worse and really they're disgusting
I vomited in my mouth and now a freestyle I am busting.
Breaking backs shaking shacks and making stacks -
no need for that.
I'm really quite scared,
scarred for life truthfully,
please get a pedicure man, you understand?
or something at least cut your fucking nails man,
don't let them get grown in and make you bleed -
don't let them shits get disgusting, just take my lead.

I'm sorry I didn't record it but I wrote that up for you as a keyboard freestyle lol

also Tom if I ever make mucho dinero I fully intend to buy you a beer to thank you for not being a douche bag, ever, over the years that I've been posting here. You're a pretty chill dude no doubt.
