#3835245 Retribution proposed changes on WoW forums

Posted by Avengelyne on 15 January 2013 - 01:42 AM

Let me know what you guys think:

http://us.battle.net...ic/7592912165#1

"Hello everyone, this evening I would like to share my ideas as to making retribution more viable in arena / RBG. Currently, it is a disadvantage to be taking a Ret into RBGs over any other class, simply put. Even if the said player has perfect play, there will only yield benefit by subbing the Ret out with any other class/spec.

I need not go into detail about how Rets are in contrast to other melee in arena, their representation is awful due to how much more powerful the other classes are. Currently in PvE they are also the bottom feeders of Melee, and that's sad considering Melee are almost always under casters.

This post is not about how bad Ret is, but how to make subtle changes to increase representation.

____________________________________________________________________

The first change is adding a "Stun Removal" to unbreakable spirit. As of now every Ret in the universe stepping foot into any sort of PvP will be taking clemency. With the 5.1 10% reduction to hand of purity, it will surely see some light against DoT teams however the other 80% of the time Clemency will be a dominant talent.

If freedom were to remove stuns like it did in WotLK, It would not only make the talent more popular versus certain comps but it would also allow Rets defenses to be buffed passively via how the talent currently works. Many classes much much stronger than Rets have the ability to get our of stuns (I'm starring at you, Hunters!) so I believe this to be a great idea.

____________________________________________________________________

The second change would be to buff PvP power to our heals. I'm aware that in 5.1, 25% of PvP power will affect heals. That is a barely noticeable change, however it's a start. Currently it is more suitable to spend holy power on a Templar's Verdict rather than a WoG, even with the glyph. Even popping Holy Avenger and switching to Seal of Insight, the current healing WoG does is simply not enough in Arena. What would be bad is buffing the direct healing to a point that Rets can keep their team alive forever, nobody wants that. Perhaps a way to solve this is allowing WoG to do a tremendous amount of healing but on a cooldown.

This is the current ret 4 set:
Gain a charge of holy power when taking Direct Damage every 8 seconds.

This, is garbage and could be replaced with something like:
Word of Glory heals for 100% more and always is guaranteed a crit once every 15 seconds

____________________________________________________________________

I think also making Divine Purpose baseline would improve things aswell as making Rets more competitive in PvE also however I see no way of doing that without having to rebalance the other specs"

#3357678 <US Illidan> (H) ~ Stay Classy recruiting Gladiators for RBGs

Posted by Avengelyne on 10 July 2011 - 05:23 PM

<Stay Classy> of Illidan is recruiting 2700+/Gladiators for rated battlegrounds this season. We have over 100 Gladiators, plenty of R1 players and 300 active members.

We will be pushing to run these groups almost every night, multiple groups if there is enough interest. Even if there is nobody dedicated on to lead them, there is always interest being such a large PvP guild and there are pick up guild groups running throughout the day.

Due to the large amount of interest, Gladiator players with lots of BG experience (Battlemaster, conq ect) will always get priority over spots. People who fuck around / DC and miss queues will be flagged with us and have a MUCH lower priority. Computer crashes? Internet cuts out? don't give a shit, get a better computer, don't make us suffer. This is not PvE where you can retry over and over, if you lose you lose. There goes your rating.

*Current/Previous RBG RATING DOES NOT MEAN SHIT* We're interested in those with exceptional arena skill that can play as a team, make calls, and keep people off of flags.

Hit us up on Illidan! Send a PM to our GM Diggles or an officer online for an guild invite.

If you're not quite up to par, 2400+ players are welcome and may get into RBG groups constantly going on throughout the day.

#3313918 GM answers question about MMR exploiting

Posted by Avengelyne on 19 June 2011 - 09:39 PM

Greetings Swaggaz!

Thanks for contacting us today, I hope everything is going well! This is Game Master Meichivel here and I understand you've experienced an issue with another Arena Team supposedly 'win trading' to get a high rating for the Season's End.

We do appreciate your diligence in reporting these cases to us however all of this will be looked into at the end of the season so as to disqualify anyone found to have been cheating to get their rating. So thank you for the report on this but we already have things set up to catch them. : )

Thank you for contacting us. We hope you continue to enjoy your experience in World of Warcraft!

Maybe the week extension isn't such a bad thing after all.

#3309974 Penalty for camping a rating.

Posted by Avengelyne on 18 June 2011 - 03:13 AM

So this nerd has given up on his puerile idea to deal with campers, and has decided to flame everyone that now posts in this thread. Excellent.

Really don't understand why my point keeps being dodged and this keeps being brought up. I have never made the assertion that I am not a bad player, I am not good. But to talk down to me with a 58% w/l 1 time glad isn't an argument, it's a provocation.

But please, keep the ad hominems coming.

Edit: Angry nerd is also a hypocrit. When did i say my 1 glad title meant anything? If you're some random or a rank 1 player the suggestion is equally retarded. The difference is, the rank 1 player wouldn't be stupid enough to make such a fool of himself and post idiotic suggestions on the forum.

#3304367 Mastery next patch perhaps?

Posted by Avengelyne on 16 June 2011 - 02:56 AM

No reason not to go crit.

Efficiency, procs, output..

Keep in mind, if you crit a heal you get the mastery shield from the crit heal. Crit heal = bigger shield anyway, mastery will still be pointless to stack. The buff will be nice, still.

#3265556 Resilience VS Strength

About equal imo, depends on the comp and what you're facing. Every game could weigh each stat differently depending on what happens.

#3212961 GPU Bottleneck Question

Posted by Avengelyne on 29 April 2011 - 09:32 PM

Buy some cheaper ram instead of Dominator and put said saved money towards a 560ti/gtx570/6950

Yea the 6850 will be holding your system back.

Edit: a 460 for less money will offer more performance, and they are great in SLI for when your budget allows you to upgrade more. Be sure to get the 1GB version if your monitor displays anything over 1650x resolution.

#2938418 What meta gem? Holy paladin

Posted by Avengelyne on 31 December 2010 - 05:35 AM

-10% fear
3% crit healing
1% reflect

choose which you prefer and what would go best with you comp/

Silence isn't as good as the others no matter what comp you're running. Neither is the 2% int.
