#4033408 Grievous Gladiator and Gladiator cutouts in EU/US

Posted by Newton on 15 January 2014 - 09:54 AM

http://www.arenamate...le_cutoffs.html

You can check there what they are "right now". This 1000 rating granting a rank -system is not in place yet and is not official, but it's been talked everywhere now, so that above post was made assuming that as a fact.

Thanks, I was using http://eu.battle.net...rd/rankings/3v3 to determine the cutoff and my result was different, that's why i asked.
Oh well, I guess we'll see what happens anyways

#4026895 gladiator spots and season ending

Posted by Newton on 08 January 2014 - 08:57 AM

The gladiator cutoff of will be smaller. They will add a minimum rating to the system.
We just have to wait till they announce the number. My guess will be 1500. Which will result in to 350-400 gladiator spots in EU.

Holinka actually stated some weeks ago on twitter that the cutoff would be close to 1000, i'd say anything in between 1000 and 1500 is possible. If i had to guess, it's probably gonna be closer to 1000, because more rewards would have beneficial effects on the arena partecipation (in the short term, at least).

#3905461 "Exciting pvp changes"

Posted by Newton on 28 June 2013 - 04:31 PM

I dont get the people requesting skirmish back, that was only useful to test UI settings, but no one used that when it was up... its like a kid when you steal his toy.

Well why the hell would you remove a feature already in place, seeing that you already have all the code and work done and working? That's just going backwards, isn't it? I'm sure they wouldn't have to do much work to bring skirmishes back and people could finally stop bitching about it.

#3630472 Disc vs DK

Posted by Newton on 01 February 2012 - 12:07 AM

So since it's what I do as a priest to survive vs dk 1vs1, I guess you could tell me what I do wrong instead of saying something that really doesn't help at all. I really can't see how MC, Fear or Shackle wont help vs a dk, but if you have anything constructive to say, please be my guest

If you're surviving against an unholy DK in a 1v1 scenario, let's say a duel, you're not doing anything wrong, the DK definitely is.
A good DK will throw everything at you while he's in AMS, if you fear, the first one is removed thanks to lichborne (2nd one he trinkets or you're dead even before that point), if you try to shackle him he cancels his lichborne, if you try to mc he will either AMS it or dark simulacrum it (so he can use it later to interrupt one of your casts). While you're casting all this stuff, he'll pop gargoyle, trinkets, rune reset and you'll have so many necrotics (let's say 80k+) it's not even fair, and you have NO CHANCE AT ALL of clearing it if you're trying to get it off you through mc or shackle etc.
A good dk will not let you cast any heals tot. Your aura mastery gets gripped, pet stunned, he uses pet charge on your casts, uses kick on casted heals, you'll actually die of necrotics and gargoyle alone without being able to use casted heals.
And if he's got like the tentacle weapon or some imba pve stuff, well let's not even talk about that scenario, it gets silly.

Actually you could BARELY manage to survive if you juke multiple casts while he's popping cds, but if he doesn't fuck up anything, there's no way for you to survive through the burst combo.
If he's bad you can survive, yes, but here we're talking about equally skilled people on a 1v1 scenario, which definitely goes in favor of the unholy dk. Frost dks are a whole different story, mostly because you're able to get casts off against them and you are able to clear your necrotics. It's not the damage that kills you, it's the impossiblity to heal yourself with casts for a relatively long amount of time.

#3545622 Gaining 133 rating at 2600 with 12-30

Posted by Newton on 10 November 2011 - 11:40 PM

http://eu.battle.net...XZ A LA TRIKCZ/ was at 2576 on tuesday, and then all of a sudden today is at 2709 with a weekly score of 12-30.
Now, as you all know, there is NO WAY on earth you can get 133 points with that embarassing score, unless you do some sort of dirty mmr exploit/wintrade hard with 4k mmr people/dc bug people.
They probably used the mmr exploit someone pointed out at the beginning of the season, using this team which also got to glad range and came out of nowhere http://eu.battle.net...e Pire Mage EU/ to boost their rating. They're all from the same guild, and all the characters from the second team are badly geared.

Or maybe there's some kind of bug that makes you not losing points when losing an arena match which I'm not aware of, this would be quite lolz.

In both cases, this is the worst joke i've seen in my entire life and I highly recommend to report those people and whoever does the same.
I know it's full of teams like this one out there, but this one is pretty ridicolous.
You are supposed to actually WIN games to gain rating, not LOSING. We either decide that losing so many games won't make you climb the ladder, or we can also start losing instead of winning to gain rating, since it's actually easier that way.

I'm disgusted.
