Awesome mix, enjoyed it a lot. Lots of goodies in here.

Not true. Progressive Trance is defined by being much more... well... progressive. The main differences from normal trance:
• Lower BPM
• Usually the "main melody" is introduced prior to the mellow breakdown
• More focus on dynamics and transitions

Essentially regular trance has a bigger focus on melodies, while Progressive trance has a larger focus on dynamics and there is more repetition of melodies. Progressive Trance is a lot like progressive house but more clearly melodically themed, and usually higher BPM.

Honestly yeah there's not much of a difference to the average listener.
What I meant is that nobody makes classic trance anymore, and all the popular trance radioshows and artists today pretty much just do progressive exclusively. The whole meaning of the term "trance" shifted when progressive shaped into existence and became popular.

Is Above and Beyond still considered trance?

Above & Beyond makes many different styles of electronic music, yes, still some trance.

Pretty much everything called trance in media is progressive trance now

No it changes how many people you know to play with - sorry forgot you had a 1 digit IQ next time I will elaborate more

yes yes i agree, reaching 2200 with kfc s11 requires exceptional synergy which can only be acquired through constant training with a small group of people, 2 of them in most cases since everything more just interferes with the progress

Gonna be like the 5th time I've seen Justice, but never fails to excite me.

Uhhh...

Fuck, they've been in miami ONCE and it was UMF this past year. I watched like the last quarter of their live set on the stream.

I'm jealous dude.

Also, what did you guys think of the deadmau5 album? Imo I really don't like his prog stuff (The Veldt being an exception, I love that story and I connected alot with the song), but it seems like he released more than half his album as singles and I feel like an album loses its identity when that happens. It doesn't feel like it has a theme either which isn't entirely important but it helps when an album feels connected and not just a bunch of random shit thrown together.

yeah but they still want to release their album, make a tour and then end it or something like that

Typical, they make an announcement that they are breaking up before all this to get extra hype for all of their "we're breaking up" garbage. I hate them so much.
