#3221065 4.2 PTR Patch Notes

Posted Asdfman on 04 May 2011 - 04:09 AM

I don't even care.. 1 bind to shieldwall/reck before patch, 1 bind after the patch. Tiny buff since you can SW/reck faster now. Anyone saying it was somehow 'skilled' to switch to def/zerk stance for these abilities is pretty delusional.

I'm only referring to this particular change, though. Previous patches have indeed dumbed down the class but I don't see a reason to whine about this since it might make the difference between shieldwall and no shieldwall before you get stunned in a smokebomb.

You guys are a bunch of fucking nerds, my lord. The guy posted something he thought was right, and instead of CORRECTING HIM, you guys circlejerkoff onto him. Then you idiots wonder why AJs content isn't what it used to be.

#3124815 DispelCleave vs Various Comps

Posted Tankz on 15 March 2011 - 01:49 PM

War/hunt/x - We haven't faced a lot of those, but all i did really was training the enemy warrior with swaps on the healer whenever he would run into the middle or swaps on the hunter when i forced him defensive.

Abuse LOS like crazy and force the enemy war/hunt/healer into a bad position for potential swaps/gibs.

RMP - We lose to the top of these, but the general rules are simple:

Keep the warrior mobile, stop burns and try to outlast/blow one of them up.

Normally i train the priest as much as possible to stop burns with swaps on the rogue/mage. Pop cd's when you land a full pummel + your priest can fear the rogue and try to force him to heal as much as possible/kill him - generally, most of our kills comes either when he's oom or i just 2shot one of them.

ret/dk/x is usually just train the DK or ret till he does, swap between them unless the healer is a pally or a priest.

for the warrior version, mostly stick to the ret with swaps on the warrior and the healer again - it all comes down to your peeling potential as well as your healers ability to stay alive and coordination with swaps.

shattreeplay: stick on the spriest/mage (both are viable targets) and swap hard on the druid eventually without CD's, force barkskin and go again with reck/DC/storm and try to blow him up.

The priest is really only a viable target with dispersion down and the mage can always get 2shot due to thier squishiness once you're through all the novas.

against druid teams, swapping on them is really important.

just swap hard, force cd's, swap with everything and either kill them or drop them low, then hit another partner and make it impossible to catch them both up.

without tree form, a druid is really easy to kill, drop him low, he gets away, hit his partner, druid is forced to change blooms/chain mana into him and he'll not be able to pick himself up if he has to pick his partner up as well.

normally it's all about poppin' cd's when you can't be peeled/you know he's gonna die in the next 3-4 seconds with the cd's popped or just to create a lot of pressure.

#3116562 Spell Reflect

Posted Nexusrage on 10 March 2011 - 08:53 PM

Thought I would post this.

Since Blizzard is planning to up the Cool Down of Spell Reflect, maybe to compensate for this instead of only 1 charge, it could last for 2-3 seconds and reflect all spells during that time.

If you think this is a good idea, go post on the official wow forums about it. I may start a thread there later.

#3111511 [Warrior] Need General advice.

I generally use reck when I do the DC burst (ie reck, DC + trinket, CS MS slam*3 MS and the target should be dead with HS inbetween) or reck + storm for peelable massive AOE damage.

i'm running dispelcleave atm (2732 and still going up, depends if we actually get queue's or only rmp) - i'd say slam spec is better then anything in that setup, and i don't really like blitz due to the DR it causes, even though i can see it be useful versus a few setups.

The general rule of dispelcleave is simply stick on whatever you can hit and do massive damage to it - we don't really have a set amount of tactics, it's more like "survive untill tankz global something" which works quiete well.

it's all pratice when it comes to sticking on people really, i had issues at first but after a while it became easier when i got used to only having 1 charge.

switches only really come if the enemy is in a bad spot or gets feared into the middle, else you normally stick on a DPS to lock them down/pressure them.

2 sp gems and a spell pen gem

I'd definitely drop Tailoring - you're right, in that the cape enchant isn't very good/reliable. Enchant your cape with +35 Spell Pen instead. ;)

Enchanting is still a great profession - you could drop it, but leveling JC over Enchanting is mildly worth it (compare +46 Sp overall benefit from Enchanting to +48 Sp from JC, if you compare 39 Sp gems to 23 Sp gems).

Engineering and Enchanting could work; any 2 combinations of Engineering/JC/Enchanting is optimal for your Priest.
