It took the devs 8 months to get things in the game promised for "shortly" after release.

The PvP was fun for a while, but 70% of the classes being able to almost one-shot others, and then other bunker builds taking hours to kill wasn't a sustainable PvP style.

spot on, the game had a driving force back then, now blizzard holds my hand throughout the entire leveling, gearing and beating pve content and pvping. It feels more like a theme park for small children than a adventure. Back in vanilla Blizzard tossed you into the big and nasty jungle and basically told you "survive".  People then had to look for help through other PLAYERS and not the GAME ITSELF. Blizzard did almost nothing to help out new or veteran players, and it was fantastic. Players back then almost always answered to "noob" questions, gave gold to people who were lvling becuase they KNOW what they are going through. I remember when I was a new player and asked a High Warlord guy in orgrimmar (who btw was surrounded by people that were inspecting him) and he could sit and talk to me and give me advice for hours. It feels like he was a hero, and deserved the attention.

Nowadays if a new player asks for help he gets called out for being retarded, and we can't really blame the players since the game itself has EVERYTHING you EVER need, without the social interactions. Everything from creating a character, to leveling, to gearing, Blizzard just holds your hand the whole way. Then we have LFR, that again, has absolutely no need for social interactions. You queue up (alone) and you play alone, even if you are in a group with 25 people. THAT'S what's killing the game, not the content itself.

Speaking of the small portion of your post where you actually addressed mechanics, I can't really see that happening. If they added icicles on a different button it would fuck with the PVE rotation and the number balancing would be very difficult (to make the fire blast global worth it in PVE but not OP in PVP would be quite tricky).

I'm actually really looking forward to icicles on my mage, on ice lance. I love adding more sources of damage on my burst (procs etc), and shatter burst is definitely still going to be there. The newest change where they made the icicles launch every 0.5s is really nice. That should make them all land within the deep freeze or imp CS or poly window that you're bursting with.

And we're not allowed to discuss about if they implement this new dogshit mastery, it needs to hit more that soft summer wind?

Also, this is already going to affect PvE rotation massively, you just can't use FoF procs anymore whenever you want, you need to hold them until you got 5stack Icicle and potentially miss out on FoF procs.

having the breakpoint at 12.51% haste for living bomb is the best you can get . next breakpoint requires like 40% haste or something unreachable.

i prefer mastery over haste after i have the breakpoint, but its basically preference haste and mastery are both good.
