#4581072 When and Why have you started and stopped WoW ?

Posted by Eycore on 07 May 2016 - 04:58 PM

Quit in early Cata. PvP was boring, didn't like some of the changes to the shaman class. Every class started to become more homogenised. Giving shamans dispell, removing bloodlust (strong but was the shammys identity), too many new op spells (spirit link, ring of frost, smoke bomb). Hunters with easy cc traps and feral druids instant cyclone was annoying. Too many instant spells in the game makes it difficult to outplay other people and thus less fun.

Came back in WoD, thinking the game changed. I quit after 2 months. Was like Cata on steroids. AOE stealth from rogues, instant warrior stun from 30yards (makes hexing really fun), too many interrupts made juking pointless. I could no longer play my shammy aggressive anymore. Ashran looked horrible, I didn't buy an expansion to sit in a mudhut of a city. The list goes on.

#3882491 It's me or MoP made the game unskill ?

Heres my take on it. Wrath had it's fair share of problems with DK'S in s5, wizard cleaves (which I played), and beast cleaves. Yet, there were so many viable wizard combos, RMP and RLS was solid, shadowcleave, RPS, african turtle, Double healer warriors with shadowmourne etc. People discussed about being globalled in Wrath by a gimicky beast cleave, and I would like to point out in agreement with the above guy to defend this. Positioning meant everything in Wrath, if you got globalled it was your own fault, damage was preventable, and you could juke pretty effectively. Forget about the small amount of cases where cheese does occur (beast cleave in rov - which is no arguement for the experience of the whole of wotlk), generally if you were better than the other team you could outplay them and win.

I havent played MOP (I quit early cataclysm, like alot of people) but surely an expansion flooded with so much CC, interupts and instants makes the following above pretty much impossible to execute. From this perspective, perhaps skill in MOP has decreased, or perhaps due to the nature of the game people prioritise other skills instead which I am not aware of. Regardless, Wrath was a better expansion for arena. You can only take a look at how dead my battlegroup forums are now compared to how active it was back then to understand this.

Also s5 was a gigantic drop in arena participants numbers which is what most of us on this site care about. And it only went lower and lower in the next seasons. Now can you please tell me how wotlk was the peak of anything?

A drop in numbers since TBC could be due to a variety of reasons, maybe not as casual friendly who knows? Seeing as the majority of WoW Pve's it could be a possibility. However, the point im trying to make is WOTLK was far from declining in arena, and should not be correlated with the number of arena participants. The passion for arena was still their, it was more competitive and there were more discussions on AJ if anything. Just look at my Battlegroups forum activity and tell me how arena was declining, and lol look at cata...

MP3 = MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 Audio Layer III,[4] more commonly referred to as MP3, is a patented digital audio encoding format using a form of lossy data compression. It is a common audio format for consumer audio storage, as well as a de facto standard of digital audio compression for the transfer and playback of music on digital audio players.

#3276853 spirit link not usable in arena

Posted by Eycore on 02 June 2011 - 01:03 PM

It should have been removed from arena. With the current state to shamans and how they are the best healer by like 10 times. And nothing is getting nerfed, blizzard seems to think that the current state of the game is balanced... It's not. 4.0.6 was alot better then 4.1 currently is. In 4.0.6 shamans were still the best healer but the differance between priest, shamans and druids wasent as huge as it is now. There is no reason why shamans even needed spirit link when they were still the best healer in 4.0.6.

who is the best healer again???
