#1906029 UA isn't nerfed - tooltip update

Posted Reckful on 03 March 2010 - 12:14 PM

the tooltip currently doesn't let you know that you can't have immolate and UA on the same target

it's just a tooltip update

can still have UA on multiple targets

yes i'm sure, if you're a warlock don't hesitate to send me $$ for saving you from an aneurysm

#1853264 High Rated Elitists

Posted bIlliAn on 17 February 2010 - 06:26 PM

I'm really tired of it, it sickens me.

High rated players who feel they're better than everybody else so they don't bother responding to low rated players asking for help on what to do. Do you realize how gratifying it is for someone to sincerely say thank you? It's a great feeling.

Even after the video I made, and bolding text, asking people that if they need any help, do not hesitate to PM me. And yet they're still scared. Or they have to add "please respond" in the PM. Or when they whisper me in game and tell me that they're really surprised I responded to them.

Just because your number is higher in an internet game, doesn't mean your a better person then they are. Please, if you get a little nubby asking for your help, just help them out and answer a few questions, it might mean the world to them.

Please don't continue this stereotype.

#1849611 Remove haste effects from CC spells?

Posted zalae on 16 February 2010 - 06:20 PM

I'm for yes, because of simple logic: When a caster choose haste over spellpower, his casts hit less hard, but more often. He has to make a choice what he want and he suffers negative effects if he take one or the other. When you cc, you just cc faster. There is no downside to that. So its unbalanced :)

Here's a fun parody of your simple logic:

When a rogue choose ap over haste, his auto attacks hit more hard, but less often. He has to make a choice what he want and he suffers negative effects if he take one or the other. When you mutilate, you just mutilate harder. There is no downside to that. So it's unbalanced :)

I'm not here to argue for or against removing haste effects from cc, just saying your "simple logic" is simply lol.

#1745745 [Blizzard] PvP Resilience Changes

Posted Barburas on 20 January 2010 - 08:03 PM

Miirkat said:

There is a reason why people who stack PVE gear stack PVE - the survivability isn't needed because they usually have the ability to get away easily, or better targets on their team to kill.

For example - Prot Warrior / Hunter / Paladin.

This is not always the case, often it is because the PvE gear is better itemized or has more overall stats, or that it allows them to get a gib where otherwise wouldn't have happened.

The former will definately no longer be the case, and because of the resilience buff the latter will much less likely be the case too. Even if you wear more PvE gear, it still won't counter the resilience buff without yourself becoming squishier than you are now, after the change.

#1716618 Requirments for gladiator are outdated.

If all people who currently have dropped out of arena were to rejoin it and make teams that never passed 1500 anyways and cause such padding that the top 500 teams of each battlegroup got Gladiator, would you feel like those top 500 deserved it or would it feel watered down?  Again the competition itself wouldn't have changed, just the insignificant padding at the bottom would have.

if they are just as good relative to the rest of the arena population over 2 seasons they will maintain their percentile ranking regardless

if you're ranked 5th out of 100 one season and 5th out of 50 the next season, that's not maintaining the same relative position

i forgot who said this but "if you're not getting better you're getting worse"

That's why I said competitive population, not just population in general. If you only look at everyone who is 2400+, people could hold the same position season after season but their gladiator titles depends on how many people queue in the 1400s.  That just doesn't seem right.

And yes I know this will eventually boil down to people saying "anyone can get glad if they want it, get over it", however that is not a legitimate point of argument.

#142282 Resilience Detecting Addon

Posted Hemingway on 22 April 2008 - 09:50 PM

Okay - so, per Aimlessgun's suggestion, I created a resilience detecting addon last night.  It is in very early development - but I decided to release it to ArenaJunkies nonetheless.  Posting it in it's own thread (though in the arena tournament forums, as this was where I first saw the suggestion) to give it more attention - may have it posted more prominently elsewhere on the wbesite soon.
