I can defend Wind Shear because its interrupt doesn't lockout more than a global. So its annoying sure, but hardly a crucial thing to juke compared to one with a higher lockout. With the state of the game having an insane number of instant spells nothing is more frustrating to me to play as Enhance than to see one of the primary tools I had for bringing pressure to a game through heal delays get trivialized to a minor annoyance.

If you don't juke that Spell Lock you're fckd for 6 seconds and in that time someone could die or get close to it, not to mention expose yourself to CC because you have to come out and heal. Same thing with CS's 7 sec. You don't juke a Wind Shear and its like ok instant heal cast again herp derp.

I understand its strength at contributing to locking down in a 1 on 1 situation, but the game isn't balanced around duels.

Obviously this is from an Enhance standpoint. I don't mind seeing a nerf to it for Restos only, however I doubt very much that it will be a nerf to ONLY resto, thus i'm defending it as a whole. Just like with Grounding Totem, Enhance and Ele are likely going to get hit by the collateral damage, and a Wind Shear nerf might just be one nerf too many for the state of Enhance.

For the suggestions in general, with tldr versions bulleted after each:

Resto (and all healers with applicable talents) need the heal on cleanse talent removed entirely. This way they can limit UA to only 1 up and thus balance Warlock AOE dmg in 3s and RBGs, since without tab targeting UAs to everything, Boomy and Lock dmg will drop a bit with the ability to dispel. Resto also needs the amount of healing on ALL their instants lowered by 10-15% because of the sheer amount of instants they have leads to extreme potency combined with strong casting heals. The threshhold curve of their mastery needs drastic adjustedment to its non-linear curve. I dunno how many people here watched the regionals VODs, but in one of the first couple matches there was a 91k GHW crit. That should NEVER be possible. Ever.
* - instant heal capabilities
* - healing from dispelling
* +/- changes to the non-linear curve of their mastery so it isn't ridiculously strong in pvp situations

Ele needs mana help, serious mana help. Rolling Thunder needs to be 5% at least, and Thunderstorm bumped to 12% at least. Reduce the mana cost of Earthquake by at least 50% and implement a Major Glyph that gives a % chance to proc instant casting of Earthquake off damage taken. Ele also needs a survival CD. I wouldnt mind seeing SR become a shaman baseline as a mana reducer, then talented for flat DR for Elemental and talented for DR and the magic break of the glyph for Enhance.
* + % mana on both their ways to get it back
* + way to make Earthquake not a POS
* + survival CD, preferably SR with modifications

Enhance needs some serious overall help. Our damage is too low to be brought on that merit, and our utility has been gutted over the course of multiple expansions since the implementation of what was strong group utility in LK. We have no offensive CD like EVERY other class has, not only because what could be considered ours (wolves) scales extremely poorly, but it is also tied to our primary movement mechanic, so it has to be popped very early anyways. We have very poor mobility outside of spirit walk, so competing with casters that gained more escape mechanics in Cata is hard. Our damage vs plate sucks balls. Our survivability is tied to multiple mechanics, some that are terrible when we can't attack (i.e. self healing through maelstrom, can't maelstrom when can't hit things). Searing totem's AI is garbage and always changes to the healer the millisecond the primary target is out of range. Pet assist stance would have fixed this issue but they didnt want to put it on the totem.
* + scaling of wolves to be a real dps CD
* + split Spirit Walk off wolves and into talent tree for actual mobility functions
* + change WF and UW to nature dmg, helping our dmg vs plate
* + pet assist stance added to Searing Totem
* + maelstrom gaining charges from damage taken
* + agi/dmg boosts if those aren't enough to get back to speed

I could have talked about purge back to 2 for enhance, but that is a lost cause, it'll never happen so may as well try to think of solutions that don't involve it.

These kinds of changes + steps to balance other classes (to which i'll detail in a bullet list after this too) will go a long long way to bringing Cata back into the line of a "good" season along the lines of s6-7.
*Nerf Howling blast to scale to shit past 3 enemies hit
*Nerf UA only being able to be on 1 target at a time to curb herp derp dots on everyone you all die lameness
*Change Lock port to need line of sight but gain range (like up to 55 yds)
*Imp CoC removed
*Nerf Fingers of Frost to 1 stack instead of 2
*Share cooldown between Colossus Smash + Recklessness (CS puts Reck on CD, not other way around)
*Add stairs to Dal Sewers box corners, so Hunters aren't 100% screwed on that map + less z axis lameness
*Limit Desecration to 2 down at a time or remove Necrotic Strike from proccing it
*Reduce Nourish to 2 sec cast, add onto an existing talent casting rejuv gives buff of .5 sec off next Nourish
*Add to Lunar Shower something that can let Wrath or Starfire eat stacks to reduce cast time of said spell for x seconds
*Triple CD on Gouge
*RBG Stacking healing and damage done penalty based on # of friendlies in defending flag rooms, to deter full team defending
*RBG Multiple flag locations per capture point node + removal of AOE from breaking capture, but limiting captures to 1 person at a time
*New arenas

I'm surprised at all the people cheating/hacking in arena and not getting banned lately. It shows a huge lack of support from Blizzard. Just looking at the ladder on most bgs I can identify MANY cheaters. Blizzard's own website points them out, most of them are categorized under this:

most of all the easiest way to identify someone cheating in arena is if this icon shows up next to their name:

Using an addon such as gladius can help show you who is cheating and who isn't, it places this icon next to their name so you know you're about to lose, unless of course you are a fellow cheater.

Hello everyone, I've been playing around with macros to put me in hawk and fox depending on the shot I want and like the rest of you that tried it I found the constant CAW CAW CAW sound to be horrible. So I started googling and playing around and figured out how to remove the Aspect Sounds from the game. It's not against the ToS, we're not modifying MPQ files here, just substituting our own sound files just like fonts. This functionality is built into wow, that's why we can just make a folder and the game picks up the substitions on it's own. No addons or hacking needed.

With the latest batch of blunders (i.e. hotfixes) from Blizzard, imo it will be beneficial to switch to AotH for certain shots since AotH will give either 2k+ AP. You should know that aspects share their own weird cooldown system and when spammed can have strange effects on your shots and may delay them slightly. Enough rambling here's what I did:

Downloaded this addon to get a proper blank .wav file, Blizz is picky about .wav files and they have to be saved with certain attributes. Not all blank .wav files are equal, don't ask me why, I'm no sound engineer


Create the following directory:

YOUR WOW INSTALL\Data\Sound\Spells

Copy the blank .wav file from the addon you downloaded to this folder.

Make two copies of this file

Name the first copy AspectofTheHawk

I'm pretty sure upper and lower case would matter here, but I have not tested it. Make sure you name it exactly as I typed above.

Name the second copy Pathfinding

I think that should do it, I personally went one step further and made more copies of the blank file and named them the following. This was mostly done in my troubleshooting phase trying to find which file was creating the second sound. Renaming AspectofTheHawk.wav removes the CAW CAW CAW, but there's still a whoosh sound every time you change aspects. That whoosh sound is Pathfinding.wav, so here's the whole list just in case you want it. Pay attention to case and spelling:


You'll find it interesting that there are aspects we've never heard of in there! I, only renamed them trying to find the whoosh sound.

EDIT - Shot Macros

I've been using the following to change aspects automatically -

#showtooltip SHOT NAME
/cast !Aspect of the Hawk

Substitute the aspect name as needed for steady and cobra macros, I'm playing with castsequence macros too to see if I can make it any more elegant. Thought some folks might want to see the macro, when you spam it, that's when the Aspect sounds become annoying.
