#3807996 Are Fears bugged?

Posted Knarox on 20 November 2012 - 08:13 AM

It definitely seems like there might be a bug with all CC abilities that are supposed to break when a set amount of damage is dealt to the CC'd person.  I've noticed how for example I've gotten full duration Entangling Roots on people with a full set of bleeds on them.

I think there's a correlation between critting and the CC's breaking properly. My strategy against warriors in duels is basically to put full bleeds up on the opener, root them before bash ends, and proceed to watch them drop to 45%. That is, ironically, only when my DOTs don't crit.

Rip ticks for about 10k non-crit on a geared warrior with the static -25% Damage from Defensive Stance, and it absolutely never breaks Entangling Roots unless it crits (usually for about 20-30k, depending on procs and wheter it's applied with Tiger's Fury or not). When my bleeds do crit, they're not always guaranteed to break the Roots, but atm it certainly seems like it won't break from non-critting DOTs no matter how low you drop.

I'll investigate when I get home.

#3797514 PvP Blog from Ghostcrawler

Posted Knarox on 31 October 2012 - 05:40 PM

The negativity in here is reaching a whole new level. The PvP community whines about the blues not listening or reading the complaints of their players, and that even if they do, they never reply or give us anything.

Ghostcrawler now goes ahead and writes up a blog entry on what their main points of focus are right now, considering PvP balance, and all that most of you can come up with is an almost ad verbatim quote on how Blizzard sucks at balancing PvP, how they've missed this issue or that, or in general, just how bad of a job they're doing.

I don't think the blog entry is in any shape or form ment to be interpreted as some kind of a summary of the be-all, end-all fixes they're going to implement, or that every matter left outside of the entry hasn't even been considered nor noticed by Blizzard. To me, it's a rough synopsis that includes only the issues that the players themselves have been the most vocal about on the WoW forums, and it's not even supposed to include everything they feel is wrong in the game.

#2120279 a rmp question

Posted Knarox on 24 April 2010 - 05:37 PM

the key for us in season 7 when we ran RMP fairly successfully at 2750MMR was simply being on the same page for the whole game about what strategy we were using (to an extent of small details).

it's not enough that your teammates tell you what they are doing right now, you need to know what they will do next (especially as a priest since the rogue and the mage pretty much control the pace of the fight) and play accordingly yourself.

we had long long discussions after pretty much every loss where we felt like we would've won simply by playing better and by altering our strategy.

#2113450 What weird thing do you do while playing?

i twist and turn my fingers so they make a knack-sound inbetween games.

bad habit, i do this outside of playing aswell.

#1950562 lowering spriest damage during blust

I never understand this argument that spriest + lust has problem more than other

Last I do math spriest vs other caster
(If free2cast)

The problem lies within the "If free to cast" part.

A shadowpriest merely needs to cast for a very short time to get VT up on a target and devouring plague & SW: pain (although doesen't scale with haste I think? atleast it used to be so?) are both instant casts so that's alot of damage without having to channel or maintain LOS at all.

After you've gotten the DOTs up (which is arguably the main source of damage for SPs) you channel stuff like Mind Blast for the 20% MS and Mind Flay for extra damage, but since your DOTs already scale with the massive gain of haste from bloodlust on top of the haste in your gear already, you're dealing massive damage without having to channel much at all.

I'm not saying shadowpriests are the most overpowered thing in this game right now though, but they're definitely the most dangerous class with bloodlust out there right now. Obviously bloodlust makes any caster very strong, so no need to point that out either.

Also I think one possible is that some spriest spam DP for damage on move, which during 1s gcd become high dps

Yeah, you beat me to it. Was going to add this to my post but you got me. DP spam (I understand it costs a high amount of mana though) does really massive amounts of damage on top of the already rolling DOTs and it doesen't require you to stand still or cast at all. You can just spam DPs on to the target as long as your mana supports it. Devastating with a 1sec GCD.

#1881965 [A] Outland vs Ravencrest

Posted Knarox on 25 February 2010 - 10:45 AM

Outland is shit and will disappoint. In season 7 it was easily the best alliance realm in the world, now it's just dire. (not that there are any other good alliance realms...)

Oh, and the guy above be has it wrong aswell: Outland Alliance is weak considering PvE aswell, Ravencrest has way better possibilities for both PvP and PvE in my opinion, it's just the queues and lag that makes RC so bad.

#1870721 Getting logged out from WoW constantly

Posted Knarox on 22 February 2010 - 02:08 PM

This pretty much started at the patch 3.3.2 with the changes to how multi-core processors behave with WoW or something (I have no idea about the details..) and I myself am running an Intel E8600 @ 3,7GHz which is obviously Dual-Core so the change also had an effect on me but I wasn't concerned.

After I played for about 3 hours after installing the new patch, I got logged out just like someone else knew my PW and logged in on the account throwing me the fuck off from it. Now obviously this happened in arena so I was pissed and thought it was one of the WoW friends who knew my password and wanted to fuck with me so I changed the password and kept doing some arena. After like 1h of it working again, I suddenly got disconnected AGAIN.

I was like hell, am I getting keylogged or some shit like that?

I changed the password from my brand new laptop that hadn't even been online since I bought it the day before and thought that had to do it (I was logged on WoW from my PC while doing this, so at no point I typed out the new password from the PC I believed to possibly be infected).

K, I call out in skype "K, it should be fine now. Just Q." and AS SOON as I enter the waiting room, BAM. Disconnected from the fucking server.

I had no idea what was causing this and over the week of 2v2 I got disconnected a total of 17 fucking times while in arena.

I head to the technical forums and find a thread where some dude has a similiar problem (not exactly the same but close enough and related to the multicore processor change so it was good enough for me).

The guy had gotten a blue response where he was told to add this into his config.wtf:
SET processAffinityMask "3"

So I added it and everything suddenly started working....

....for a week or so. Yesterday the disconnects started happening again and I'm just completely blown away by it and have no idea what the fuck is going on.

This time no one on the tech forums have reported any issues similiar to mine so I'm just baffled.

Anyone got some ideas? [/Wall of Text]
