#3303630 Is the arena community too competitive for wow?

Posted jizoke on 15 June 2011 - 08:28 PM

What do you think happens when a fresh 85 with some bloodthirsty steps into arena? He gets fucked so hard he never wants to do it again. Why does this player get fucked? There is too much god damn shit in the game to know about unless you've been playing for a WHILE. Then if this new player asks a high rated player or comes here for advice, he gets laughed at and does some rated bgs.

I remember when I was shit at this game I ALWAYS came here for help and I got it, via forums or the sick strategy guides and it made me better. Now, hahaahahahahahahahahahaha. You can't even give advice for arena anymore, that is how awful it is.

There is simply no fun, absolutely 0, in learning how to arena. New players see this and decide not to do it at all.

Then we have the case of the high rated / decently good players. This game is like legos now for us. You don't even take individual skill into account anymore, it is comp vs comp. Ah, best paladin in the world wants to play with you? Too bad he is a paladin and can only play a melee cleave or he'll get fucked. Playing some WLS with the 3 best players in the world? Oh whats that? You just lost to a dk/feral team that was 2200 because they did some unhealable damage to your shaman. This is just the obvious things, you could go into class balance and pull your fucking hair out.

Good players can't even play with their friends unless they want to reroll to the class that gels with their friend. Now just imagine how awful it is for bad players trying to get into arena.

What to do about this? Nothing. Blizzard knows perfectly well that they're shifting focus away from arena and they'll keep doing it until we're all gone. So I guess we just stick around until the bitter end selling PR and stuff.

#1755363 Queueing skirmishes in a group

if anyone's bored over the next week and wants to do skirmishes against friends or whatever, click the bracket you want to join and copy + paste this in the chat box, and it will queue your party for that bracket.

/script JoinBattlefield(ArenaFrame.selection - 3, 1);

It should teleport you to the dueling area for your faction or maybe to the arena npcs.  That'd be pretty cool and shouldn't be too hard to implement.
Or better yet, teleports you to an instanced area that only people with the tabard can get to. Non contested zone so both Horde and Alliance can occupy the area and duel each other with ease (MAYBE ALSO MAKE THIS INSTANCE CROSS REALM). Also, this area has PVP vendors, Battlemasters, and Arena Battlemasters.

Edit: You can also use your flying mounts, and you can preform skirmishes against other teams with ease in this area. (Controlled set up of 2v2/3v3/5v5 duels in arena... which should have been implemented long ago.)

Edit2: Make the zone cross-realm in your battlegroup.
