"High rated players against low wouldn't happen that often" -> Absurd statement, this was a huge problem and adding MMR was a brilliant solution to the issue of lowbies getting constantly stomped and having like a 30% win rate. That discourages players (particularly new players) from continuing to PVP.
"apart from the traditional win-trading" -> Exactly. This was a huge problem in the early seasons.
"it also makes lower rated players take care of their team, strive harder to maintain w/l and increases overall activity since you have to work harder for your rating. Also increases glad spots due to less disbanded/inactive teams" -> Wishful thinking. I see no reason to assume this is what would happen. In fact, there would probably be MORE inactive teams due to the team hopping that would *still* happen coupled with the fact that re-earning 30% games played is much harder than bringing PR back to the TR.
"Gives new players the chance to get to know other people instead of isolating themselves in cliques. Playing test games or facing someone in the arena then playing with him would become a thing again" -> More wishful thinking. If you think that changing achievements is going to alter human behavior, just wow....
"Makes player reputation on the server a better metric for ability/skill" -> This is already the case.
"Forces higher rated player to take games more seriously" -> What?
I honestly wouldn't be against resetting achievements every season, but removing them entirely? That will never happen. All in all, these are absurd suggestions and would ruin the game. The problem with WoW isn't the rating systems or other game systems that surround arena, the only problem is class balance. That and the fact that the good things that we have in place have only been around for a few months, so their effect hasn't fully manifested yet.
it's not the same
priest deaths instant scatter, gets pet cc into full trap
priest deaths casted poly, gets deep freeze into half poly
poly is casted. scatter trap is instant ..
ur whole point is invalid .. "pom poly is op so hunt's cc should be op too"
nvm, maybe it's just me that wanted a more skillful game .
Yeah just did some testing and to my knowledge it's not possible since they are completely seperate spells. I'm sure you're doing it to save macro space but if you want the icon to be proper i'd just set the actual ability on your bar rather then making a macro for the 3 specs.
Apparently the sound files have to be in .ogg-format since 4.3.3, so here's an updated pack to remove aspect sounds (click File -> Download, extract to your /Data/ folder). Thanks to Fortyyards from US forums for making this pack https://docs.google....LUJuNUxZQQ/edit
get addon "bind pad" , you can create macros with it and you can bind stuff that is not on your bars
No Addon needed. You can create Bindings with the SetBinding command.
SetBinding("key"[, "command"[, mode]])
String/nil - Any name attribute value of a Bindings.xml-defined binding, or an action command string. For example:
"SITORSTAND" : a Bindings.xml-defined binding to toggle between sitting and standing
"CLICK PlayerFrame:LeftButton" : Fire a left-click on the PlayerFrame. "SPELL Bloodrage" : Cast Bloodrage.
"ITEM Hearthstone" : Use [Hearthstone] "MACRO Foo" : Run a macro called "Foo" "MACRO 1" : Run a macro with index 1.
Steady/arcane/killshot feels best to me. That -1 sec isn't so huge compared to double killshots. Steady/arcane are obviously the best pure dmg glyphs.
Using Chimera 10% more often is similar to a 10% dmg increase, Steady shot glyph....10% increased damage on a shot that hits plate for 1700? Hardly game changing.
You get kills with CC chains + Burst sequences, not "dps". The 10% from steady shot adds up to very little in an arena match.
Chimera coming up and bursting someone for 30k a second time during a CC chain, however, can be game winning.
Of course you won't always use Chimera exactly every 9 seconds, but using it 1 second earlier ONCE can sometimes win a game, too. It's our most important shot by far and having our most important shot come up more frequently just seems like the obvious, logical choice.
Though glyph choices won't make a really good hunter fail by any means, you can still succeed with suboptimal glyphing, I just think Chimera glyph is great.
