LOL at everyone freaking out before day 1. So much mage hate, yes this is drastic but its ok that rogues can shit on you and not use one melee attack and DK dmg got buffed for some god awful reason. It will get fixed but its great seeing all the warriors cry cuz after last season nobody gives a shit. Good luck getting F bombs off against roge/pmonk rogue/DK etc anyways, gratned tempest got buffed too but who wants to play that horrid playstyle anymore anyways.

anyways, changes like this almost guarantee nerfs in other areas. mage damage is fine in pvp, I hope to god this change gets reverted.
retarded dk change and stupid mage trinket. i love how unbound will for locks is a 1 min cd and costs 20% of my hp, yet they give mages a 10 sec cd version with no hp cost and provides a 1.5 sec immunity. lol wtf.
With all due respect, Mes is a phenomenal player. The absolute best DK in the world, and, there isn't a comparison; however, to insinuate that he is somehow carrying us all sheds light upon why your team lost so heavily. RBGs are a team game, not about individual skill: they take coordination, awareness, and strategy that overlap, but are NOT unique to arena. Your team's communication on ring, grip, beams was lackluster, your Guardian FC constantly made huge positioning mistakes handing us two FC wins and literally one second away from the third one (Chanimal's chaos bolt was in mid-air and he popped wall and barkskin with no one around him), no leadership calls, etc.

The Problem is if you nerf frostbomb dmg, mages have nothing. you would either need to buff a) lance, lolol wb to cata or b ) buff frostbolt to ATLEAST x2-3 the current dmg, thats how shit frostbolt it.
Also the cast time is a big factor, with frostbomb you just have to get that bomb (1.4s cast) off then all your casts following it up are instants as you also get a free FFB when it detonates. This mechanic makes it so strong, not necessarily the damage of frostbomb alone.
And since every team has one bazillion interrupts its actually the only mechanic that works in my mind, mage would be the most useless shit ever vs cleaves with interrupts without frostbomb. A frostbolt/lance shatter wont get you kills even if they TRIPLE the frostbolts dmg, that is if you can ever cast that 1,9sec Frostbolt without someone fucking you up
TL;DR frostbomb is the only mechanic that keep mages a top class in arena atm, if you nerf it some serious buffs are needed to make up for it. A "nerf=buff to frostbolt", would also split the mages "burst-kit" into 5 spells, frostbomb,fireblast,lance,frostfirebolt,frostbolt not counting deep/orb.
i agree with this, i still think the major problem is CD stacking (with all classes).
frost bomb damage is fair without stuff popped, the problem is incanter's + on use trinket.
honestly, incanter's ward probably needs a nerf to 20%.
like sai said though, there's a major problem with having purely casted damage; especially because against most melee, frost nova is a joke of an ability.
spell steal change seems fine to me, i still spam the shit out of it.
just think of our mana bar as our spell steal bar.
at first i thought the change was a really bad way to deal with spell steal. after playing, i noticed i still always have enough mana to clean most targets before bursting them, just not enough mana to maintain full druid hots on me all game, which is fine.
