#4180942 Cya tremor

Posted Isumi on 28 July 2014 - 11:38 AM

good change, but then u also have to look at feathers/spectral guise/chastise/fear, because there is no skill included to do this rota.

in earler times u had to choose as a priest if u wanna go in to get a fear by the risk of getting cc'd, nowadays u go in stealth at the other side of the arena and 3secs later enemy healer is in full fear

The stubborness to realise that their original dispel system was fine is beyond me.

#4058945 Don't be an asshole

Posted Esiwdeer on 21 February 2014 - 01:15 AM

How much can honestly be written about arena strategy from a player's perspective? This website, at its conception, was designed to be GameRiot meets WoM. I remember getting tells asking me to sign up in like, season 2? Anyway, the function is community, not information. If I didn't know how to play I'd go to Twitch, or watch videos. What am I going to read? The theorycrafting here has never been worth visiting for - what else is there besides community?

When there was an SK gaming list and WoM and almost nowhere else to talk to other players who exclusively PvP'd, this website had a niche. If you want to read patch notes, you'll go to MMO-Champion, if you want to watch someone else play, you'll go to Twitch. The only possible function this website could have is giving the ever-shrinking playerbase a sense of community.

You've never done any boost, Nadagast? Never played with anybody who was doing one? Not once? I bet if you could quantify the amount of damage that did to the "community" it'd be pretty tremendous, or at least moreso than "being an asshole." Moderatorship should be unbiased, should be bipartisan and should be consistent and active - it hasn't ever been any of those. European AJ mods have been found guilty of using the website to harvest IPs, you can just get banned for someone not liking you, whatever. Zunniyaki advertises selling boosts on this website and it goes unpunished. I got permanently banned for saying NAO was partnered with ArenaRating because somehow that was against the forum rules.

If you have some substance to post and reasonable credentials, you should able to do whatever you want within fair, consistent, universal rules - a forum is a place of open assembly for the people, not a place for idiots to learn how the people act. What would the website honestly be without people talking shit to one another? A bunch of 1 time Gladiators or first-time 2400s posting gifs and three word responses talking about how the game is shit? A bunch of TBC heroes talking about how the game is shit? A bunch of has-beens saying the game is shit? The game is shit dude, we got it. Grats on access.

You can't have conversations with people about the actual game. I bet you'd never say that Warlock or RLS or WLS or anything else was much stronger than any option any other class had. I've had in-depth discussions with people like Filovirus about how Hunter has always been stronger than Warlock as a class in the arena, like he can't even remember SL/SL - is that the information you want to have available?

Fast forward to Team Liquid or SoloMid and the discussion is, "yeah he won top, but that was pre-Renekton nerfs - I doubt it'll go the same way at IEM." or "he doesn't stand a chance after the Colossi nerfs, looks like an all Zerg semi-finals"

It's a roleplaying game. Not a PvP game. There has never been discussion that was unbiased or accurate in the history of this website. Maybe some gems, but everyone thinks they're the best so everyone's opinion is effectively worthless. And this game isn't competitive, so all anyone has is an opinion.

Everything you wrote has been written countless times. Cut the redundant 4th grade teacher PC crap and properly moderate the forum. You're not reinventing the wheel with the "why-can't-we-all-get-along-think-of-the-lurkers" act and quite frankly you're bordering on arrogance if you're actually thinking anything's going to change by posting this.

IP ban whomever needs to be banned. Problem solved, or will at least head towards that direction.

I'm sure everyone has seen how much trolling and general douchebaggery have infected AJ.  I'd like it to stop.

Trolling and assholery puts AJ on a downward spiral.  People troll/asshole-it-up, which leads to less people using this as a forum for serious/reasonable discussion, which leads to more trolling, etc.  AJ always was and continues to be the most popular place for new players to get into the PvP scene.  Any community relies on new members to sustain itself--by making this place a wasteland we are doing nothing but ensuring our own demise.

Before you post a reply or topic, ask yourself: am I being an asshole?  If you are, change your post to take a more educational tone.  If you're feeling heated about something, take some time to cool off before replying.  Don't immediately assume someone is trolling you, some people are just not very knowledgeable.  Worst case, if you reply in a calm educational manner, you've posted something informative for the hundreds or thousands of lurkers who will view your reply.  These are generally newer PvPers, and anything you do to help sustain them as arena players helps all of us.

On any set of forums, it's easy to forget that almost all of the people reading it are lurkers, who will never make any posts.  Lurkers cannot be trolls, they can't be assholes, they are just here to learn or read interesting things.  Post interesting, informative content.  Post drama if you want, but don't be an asshole.  Fuck the trolls, post for the lurkers.

#3963662 Your wishlist for 6.0 PvP

Posted Mirionx on 14 October 2013 - 06:36 AM

Clean classes on spells, the button bloat isn't funny any more..

Remove all unnecessary things like double DK grip, all these extra trinkets classes got like nimble brew and desecrated ground, give all classes 1 - 2 cc's instead of 5.

Mages can have poly and blanket CS that would be enough, hybrids can have a CC with a CD like Rets would have FoJ that's it they got healing to make up for the lack of CC.

Make casters cast including healers, give Wog a cast time I don't care just make casting a thing.

Remove all the ranged attacks / stuns that melees got, stormbolt as an example who was the genius that thought it would be a good thing to add to the game? Mass spell reflect? Must of been the same guy.. Why does rets have more ranged attacks then melee attacks? 2 melee attacks and 4 ranked, that is such a bad class design it's kinda funny in a way..

Remove blanket silences..

Remove all these AoE cc's, ring of frost, shadowfury etc, make physic scream a talent instead of spyfiend and remove that crap

#3922035 Reasons why 2v2 should be a competitive bracket

Posted Avarencex on 03 August 2013 - 04:03 AM

I believe 2v2 as a bracket should return as a competitive bracket for people to compete for the titles ranging from challenger up to gladiator. In this big wall of text I'm about to write, I will be using numbers from the arena junkies title calcuator from past seasons of the vengeance battlegroup as part of my evidence to prove my point.

In the past couple of expansions, competitive pvp has been on a rapid decline which I believe is directly related to 2v2 being axed from the competive scene. First of all in s6, vegeance had 94 spots in 2v2, 35 spots in 3v3, and 4 spots in 5v5 for gladiator. Then onwards up to s8 there were 43 spots in 3v3 and 11 spots in 5v5 for gladiator. You may look at these numbers and believe that pvp was actually improving since 3v3 and 5v5 went up in competitiveness however punching in the numbers reveals that as a result of 2v2 being  cut from being competitve the number of gladiator spots went from 313 Gladiators down to only 184 (Assuming only 2 players per 2v2 team get gladiator etc etc.). A significant drop in the amount of people playing in pvp by around 40%. This decline continues as the 5v5 brackets across most BGs become functionally zero with S9 3v3 having 33 spots, s10 22 spots, s11 15 spots, and s12 only 10 spots.

Now many people blame the rabid decline of WoW pvp due to it's many imbalances. This is actually true, however this is basically true with any new expansion as older players either outgrow the game or quit because they don't like how the game has changed, this has happened every expansion yet pvp was good a strong during BC and Wrath. What changed everything however was the lack of the 2v2 bracket. The 2v2 bracket was extremely important to break in newer players into the competitive scene of WoW pvp, 2v2 being easier in comparison to the increasing difficultly of 3v3 and 5v5, 2v2 was important to show players the ropes while also making the bracket worth doing aka THE TITLES. Without a incentive to do 2v2, nobody will play it as it will be deemed a waste of time. And when people did get titles in 2v2 they would be encouraged to broaden their horizons, prove they weren't just 2v2 heroes and compete in the 3v3 and 5v5 brackts. But without the 2v2 bracket, newer players are immediately thrown into the fast paced and crushing 3v3 bracket which does alot to basically scare away anybody new from trying to pvp competitively or at all. So basically wihtout the 2v2 bracket, competitive pvp lost the replenishing factor it needed in order to keep itself in a healthy and fattened state and has now led to the ever dwindling state of WoW pvp.

So please show some support for bring back the 2v2 bracket, help save WoW pvp and thanks for making the time to read this post.
