Game has been unplayable from a healer pov since mop. Pre mop healer used to be all about managing pressure/dispels/positioning/prediction and now all you are is a cooldown bot. I'm pretty sure this has happened to pretty much every class but from a healer pov the only way I'm good at my class is if I know how to trade cooldowns efficiently. Managing cooldowns obviously has always been a part of the game but every other part has been completely watered down or removed. I can sort of understand how some people might find this playstyle fun, but to me healing arena can never be enjoyable.
very well said.
i was making a point to my friends the otehr day saying half the reason i think i wow lost its enjoyment for me (healer since season 5) is because every since mop mostly(altho i only played season 15) as a healer you're either being trained by classes that can literally fly from start to finish, or you're flat out not playinng the game.
i realize that you kind of have to deal with a healer someway, but being trained is very unfun, and watching a sheep do circles on your screen is also unfun. it didn't feel like that at all back in wrath/cata although even if i was the head game designer i wouldn't know how to fix that.
best guess is to make heals insanely strong again but that only worked well in wrath when ever class didn't have 19 cooldowns so their constant damage was high enough to warrant strong healer
as a side note to go with teh original quote: when i first came back to the game in s15 after not playing since early s10, i struggled so god damn hard to even get 2400 for a while because i couldn't wrap my head around hte fact that i had to match my cds with enemy dps cds, even if my team was at 100%. any skill of prediction or just experience in damage output feels very useless

Well also Wow base players are getting old and they dont have the passion what they used to have. easier to blame the game.
and ofc it will skyrocket first and then come down, hard.. Because pve players leave the game.
i agree with this but when you go from wod (the xpac of complete do nothing) to legion(the xpac of diablo 3 esque endless grinding) with nothing in between it's going to make a lot of people stop playing. not because it's necessarily a bad thing, but because people like what they're used to.
in this case pvpers are used to getting level cap, going into bgs, waiting for season to start. now it's so, so much more and a lot of folks don't like it.
This is not really surprising. Or at least half surprising. There was a huge post on mmo-champions's forum from people who claims that it was unacceptable that PvP people can get a mount with a appearance not obtainable on PvE. (The infernal). The last time we got a unique model was during Wotlk with frostwyrms.
Before the same whining post and ICC's mounts.
wrath wasnt unique considering you could get frostwyrms as early as season 7 from pve. same shit as netherdrakes from bc
