At first you are unemployed. Eventually you get challenger title. After a couple years you get rival title. After a few more years you may get duelist, but don't ever think you will get to the top 0.5%, rank 1 happens at birth.
I disagree. Sure some IRL Gladiators (Billionaires) are born into it, but there certainly are self made IRL Gladiators (Billionaires) out there.
Personally, I am trying to get my IRL Gladiator title and won't be born into it. Right now trying to get the IRL Gladiator title is pure aids since I am in the mega rat league, but will eventually out grind all of the other rats. There does seem to be this king rat (Government) in IRL that keeps getting in my way trying to start my own ISP. Keep the grind going even outside of World of Warcraft boys!
You really only have one option to be honest which is to play with as many people as you can from LFG or Trade chat. Over time you will accumulate friends that are people you play with from time to time if they are available to play when you are. The reality of it all is that even at really high cr pushing for Gladiator you will be in LFG playing with random people searching for a fully functioning team. Unless you get really lucky and find a fully functioning team which is rare, more commonly you will find one really good partner and be searching for the a good third. The best thing you can do is to look at your own mistakes and try your best to improve each game, which I recommend recording your games and going back over.
As title says I'm trying to see if I can reach Gladiator for the first "official" time this season.
What does first "official" time mean?
Advice from a no-body who got Gladiator in S1 WoD I would say that always looking for mistakes in your own gameplay and trying to improve on it each game is very important. I also think playing as many games as you can is also a good way to improve. Armourying every player before you play with them making sure that they are similar cr to you (I don't like to go off exp too much since you don't know what season they got that exp or the state of their class/comps, only using exp as a slight indicator on whether to play with them or not). You will have to live in LFG since you will play with a lot of different people some of which will work out and some of which will be pure aids, best of luck with the grind.
I believe this leaderboard change deserved its own topic https://worldofwarcr...eaderboards/3v3 . First of all they have changed the functionality of being able to filter all the leaderboard results to show your realm. You may ask why do you care about filtering results to show realm? Personally, I have always consistently filtered the results to show my realm because I like to see the best players on my realm since it is a connected community which is incredibly rare these days. I also love to filter out all of the Australian realms to see who the highest rated Australian player is at the time.
Secondly, they have changed the functionality of being able to filter specs and classes from the leaderboard results. I feel this change is most fucked of all. What is the point of playing if I can't feed my shitty ego of being rank x ret or paladin in the US leaderboard? I currently am not playing due to being too busy to spend hours looking for partners to queue 3s, but am still outraged by the change.
Is anyone else as outraged by these changes as I am?
(I know i sound like one of those people who doesn't play and just rages on AJ, but don't get me wrong I love to play 3s and just feel this is bad change)
The guy above you is wrong. Every site that calculates cutoffs are getting the information from the Blizzard API. The data shows every player that has ever played in 3s/rbg but it only shows ranking and rating of the players and nothing else. For example lowest player in EU in 3s is rating 10 and rank 250732
The real "ladder" API shows much more like faction, class, spec etc but is only top 5000
I would if i didnt want to get glad this badly. Having a glad title opens up so many gates that you wouldnt even have guessed. I picked the worst season to do his but i have to. I need to get glad somehow.
Don't give up man, everyone thought I couldn't do it either but I proved them wrong. Keep moving forward, you will have a lot of bad queues compared to good ones living the ret dream but stick to your goal.
So I finished the season at 2646cr and according to arenamate the cutoff ended at 2645cr, I really hope I end up getting Gladiator since it will be my first season getting it Thought I would make one of those AJ getting my first Gladiator posts and to let the community know there are still people who really enjoy 3s (aka me).
inb4 I end up not making the cutoff lol rekt
inb4 Gladiator doesn't mean anything anymore
