I'm just going to play league for now on I guess until the game is fixed (new x-pac maybe) or another game shows up.
The game has never been or never will be fixed.
The sad truth is for many of us starting to play WoW in its hayday (vanilla, tbc.. even WOTLK maybe) was such a great experience and unlike anything we had ever done before. The community was odd like any online game but before Blizzard went hay-wire linking servers together, server transfers, name changes, LFR/LFD, etc there were real friendships made. I met many friends I still talk to today on Vanilla/TBC WoW and looking at screenshots I have saved from those days I certainly wish I could relive that experience again. But that's exactly what nostalgia is and sadly for all of us we've been jaded by the community being destroyed by Blizzard & the advent of internet culture and 'trolling'/dank memes yo.
People ninja in pugs and nobody cares; Back in vanilla and TBC I distinctly remember people getting bad reputations & the server forums being alive. I can't name one single person I ran a LFR/LFD with in the past 5 years, yet in Vanilla/TBC I had groups of friends I made to accomplish goals I had set for my character and myself. 3v3 arenas is, sadly, the last bastion of this 'go out and get it yourself' mentality in this game left yet even that is hurting (and always has been) due to our attitudes about eachother. I haven't played with more than 10 different people since cata because far too many people ragequit and take everything so seriously nowadays & it simply isn't worth my effort anymore.
So yeah, WoW won't ever be 'fixed' but we will keep coming back to it as long as it is alive. Not because it will be better, but because we all really want it to be what it was. Same thing goes for any other game really; I still try and play CS:GO even though I don't enjoy it simply because I remember the fun I had on Gamesurge IRC & CS 1.5/1.6 Caleague.
