#4019299 super edgy thread of radical opinions

Posted Ruddx on 26 December 2013 - 03:11 PM

Sadly I decided to end my fabulous WoW-Career. I always had the feeling that People not being able to admit that someone is better in this Game is the main Problem. Obviously it's easy for me to say considering there actually was no one better then me.

1: Being a death knight and having season 5, 6, 8, or 9 Gladiator does not mean you're good.

2: Being a warrior and having season 4, 8, 9, 12, or 14 Gladiator titles does not mean you are good.

3: Being a hunter and having season 5, 7, 8, or 12 Gladiator titles does not mean you are good.

-You(as a player) have very little control over the outcome of the game.
-I enjoy the combat aspect of the game. I like the fact that every time I outplay an opponent, it gets my team closer to victory. Rbg is just one big cluster fuck where the combat revolves around who does most damage, who heals most, who solar beam / vortex's more etc. It's closer to a pve fight.

using your brain for more than 30 seconds at a time must be difficult

Just wanted to start a discussion really, my thoughts were already put in a video so i didn't see the need to type everything out. I'm sorry if you view this as advertising, I honestly just wanted to start a thread over here on AJ because the people who post here are pretty hardcore about pvp and I though some great ideas might come out of it.

Just don't reply to him ;)

They need to let us bind individual abilities and not share the same ones for all classes. Just throwing that out there, it's like #1 dumbest thing in the game so far in my experience. I've probably said this before but wtf.

That's like the last thing they have to think about right now.

The absolute and definite top 3 of things ANet has to provide in order for GW2 to become a valid eSports title:
1. Private Servers
2. Stable Servers with almost 100% uptime
3. Spectator Client

There is a lot more of important stuff but without these 3, GW2 won't go anywhere.

The game has quite a lot of issues right now in general, I'm interested to know specifically how you are all feeling about spvp?

My thought are summarized in this video:

Let me know if you agree or disagree with anything i say.

Posted Superpope on 30 July 2012 - 07:14 PM

Hey guys,

Just released a video of my guardian play from BWE3, I do not use any 2handers and play to support my team and with still having burst potential. I am also looking for future teammates post release, only serious teammates that know the ins and outs of their class.

Let me know what you guys think, leave a comment here or on youtube.
Cheers,
Seaz

#3740553 Match Casting - Let the epic games begin!

Posted GuildSource on 08 August 2012 - 10:30 PM

If you're in this forum, odds are we share two passions in common: PvP, and GW2. We all want to see it flourish. My contribution? sPvP match casting that is exciting/informative/epic.

This thread can be about critiquing casters in general, to set goals for tournaments and casters alike, to relish over our anticipation for the on-coming spectator mode and other features/maps, or to display some casts as they come.

Latest match (9/17/12):

Open up for more match casts!

Spoiler

Let's talk about it. Besides spectator mode, what is a cast like this missing. Was it exciting? Can you see yourself in a few months tuning in to the best teams and your favorite players fighting to prove themselves?

I KNOW I CAN. I'M PUMPED. Herrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr *head explodes*

We're getting better every cast, so eventually we'll TRULY do what casting is supposed to do: help the match be more watchable and entertaining/informative.

I'm your host Zael. Send me word via [email protected] if your guild has a good match that NEEDS to be casted, or just to chat!

Don't forget to spread the word of GW2 PvP. If you liked our casts, support our efforts with a much appreciated share or like!

#3740569 Guardian Two-Handed Build (Greatsword/Hammer) full explanation video

Posted Prometheus0110 on 08 August 2012 - 10:49 PM

Hello everyone,

I am a former arena player from WoW, and I have completely fallen in love with Guild Wars 2.  I played a Paladin, so a natural choice for me was to pick Guardian for Guild Wars 2, and I haven't been disappointed at all.  In addition to support, Guardians have really strong offensive power.  I personally really liked the Two-Handed weapons and wanted to make a viable build with them.

Note, after a bit of theorycrafting, I would make some minor adjustments to the build (I have posted both the original and the updated one with explanations after the video).  However even though I'd make a couple changes, the core principles behind the build, and the usage of both the Greatsword and the Hammer are still the same.

First, here's the video:

The build featured in the video (30/10/10/20/0):
http://gw2skills.net...wjgHLPOek8sEYIA

The build I am running tomorrow in the stress test:
(25/25/0/20/0)
http://gw2skills.net...wjgHLPOek8sEYIA

A brief explanation for this change:

With this change, you lose some power, and give up Zealous Blade in the Zeal line.  Zealous Blade doesn't actually heal for much and isn't worth the Grandmaster trait, sadly

Additionally, you give up Meditation Mastery in Valor, because its only affecting one of your utility skills, Judges Intervention.  While this is good, the benefits you get from the Radiance tree are way better (Also, I believe Judges Intervention will be nerfed, the teleport is WAY too good right now - I touch on this in the video).

In Radiance, you pick up Inscribed Removal, which allows your heal and your knockdown to remove a condition off of you, a great added benefit.  This combined with the use of Purging Flames means that conditions don't stay on you for very long.

You also get the great minor trait Renewed Justice, which allows Virtue of Justice to cool down every time you kill someone - a very important feature.  And the 25 point minor trait in Radiance, Radiant Power, means you do 10% more damage against someone with conditions - Combine Radiant Power (10%) with Firey Wrath (10% against burning) and the 6 set piece of Flame Legion gear (5% against burning) and you are doing a whopping 25% more damage against burning targets.  Very impressive stuff!

And, that's not to mention that you go from 39% crit to about 47% crit, and you only go down to 3125 attack from 3175.

I'll post an update after the Stress Test tomorrow, but sadly I am only going to get to play for an hour and a half so I am not sure what kind of footage I am going to get.

Let me know what you think, and thanks for reading :)
