Such a sad and pathetic way to "troll" (cant even call it that) because when someone says their life/safety is in danger, you have to assume it is true because it would be a grave error to bet someones life/safety on it being a prank and have it turn out to not be a prank (therefore it requires no skill at all to sell the "troll").

Great job to this bathwater scum for proving he is just a sad pathetic attention seeking nerd.  Even more sad that he has deluded himself into believing this prank is something to be proud of.

#3715878 3dps or rls

Posted FTRouslan on 16 June 2012 - 04:44 PM

Pretty sure triple dps is generally reserved for duelist ranges and RLS is much further prevalent in glad ranges.

Most comps in the game, if you aren't half retarded, you can counter triple dps or at least defeat a mediocre one. RLS just has an advantage against almost everything but triple dps.

again, NAO tries to act superior trying to martyrize mugemz.

mugemz broke the rules, he got the consequences, deal with it.

Sort of lame to leave NAO because of a few trolls... considering how many people enjoys watching it!

Also, I don't meaning to attack mugems or offend him in any way but arent you a bit weak-minded if you get upset over the internet?
It's not just a few trolls, if you read the previous threads there is some serious slander going on and it doesn't take long for that kind of talk to spread and ruin a good name of NAO which in return might cause them to lose sponsors or lose viewers

you can already see simpletons like ctuhlu just jumping on the bandwagon that started with reeds expert trolling

I don't think mugemsz really planned on quitting NAO all together but he wanted to cause a strong reaction in communuty and end up looking like a martyr (overexagertaing to get my point across)because debating with trolls just made NAO look even worse and worse (expert trolls at work), now community is angry because they feel NAO might be compromised and the heat just turned against the trolls

all in all, AJ has been really fun lately

go back and reread the thread in chronological order and take into account that some moderator went back through and cleaned it up to make the NAO people look better and I think any person with a brain could realize the lack of professional conduct didn't stem from me

Even though I hold no opinion on the subject you decided to openly discuss with the "civilized" community of arenajunkies since I have not been playing for quite a while, I cannot help but post in this thread. I care little for what most have to say in this forum -especially given the way they chose to convey their thoughts, their childish argumentation and their tendency to resort to insults on various levels- but I am amazed with your case; you are fighting for a lost cause, namely the acceptance of a notion conflicting with the current status-quo that the community so devoutly cherishes, and yet you manage to do it with a rich and lucid vocabulary, solid syntax, fluid and precise punctuation (a rather uncommon trait) and well documented argumentation following a classic claim-data-warrant line of thinking. In all honesty, I firmly believe you can teach those forums something, at the very least the way opinions and thoughts ought to be expressed; if 10% of arenajunkies’ members followed your example the outcome would be a forum of much higher quality. Keep up the good work.

with the quality and obvious game knowledge you emit in your posts, it should be pretty obvious this is a troll.

C'mon man, this is wow, the ideology that "if youre the best, beat the best" doesn't work in a game like wow where you have tournaments set up like nao are. The seeding is randomized.

Rls is gay but there's only 2 triple dps that would even be invited and if they dont get randomized into a bunch of easily winnable series, it would be a waste of time.
The majority of my posts in this thread are supposed to be ironic satires on the attempt to balance something where balance is not foreseeable, or remotely possible. There are too many variables. Therefore, the only solution is to not make any attempt to balance anything because any effort to do so will obviously be in vain. This sort of cascading logical fallacy is what I referenced in my post title of, "If you give a mouse a cookie."

On a serious note, triple DPS doesn't counter RLS. RLS is going to win the tournament no matter what. Just struck me as a hypocritical stance on tournament moderation and I thought I'd point it out since it modifies tournament experience for some classes much more than others, and the ones that are not effected by it are in a very good position(15% + rep @ 2600) anyway.

Do you have any idea how boring it would be to spectate a 3v3 game against 3DPS?
Do you feel as though PHD is a sub-par comp?
How about feral/hunter/healer?
Does rogue/hunter/healer suck?

Why would it be boring to watch triple DPS play? Games would be fast paced and heavily reliant on cordination for the team facing the triple dps.

Let me ask you with another question(s) however: Do you know how boring it is to watch 15 minutes of RLS vs. RLS? Or watch RLS play against Hunter/Rogue/Shaman for example, knowing that the RLS will never lose, but the game still drags on with the thugcleave being defensive and kiting for 15 minutes? RMP facing off against RLS not having a chance to kill either, when Shamans are using 5500 resilience? Watching PHD open with initial burst, not scoring a kill then being cross CC'ed for 8 seconds and losing in a Smokebomb? Watching an MLS never being able to score a kill on a Rogue and the RLS making the mage oom and eventually die?

But you're right. 3 DPS would make the tournament boring, because they have the upper hand against 1 setup (which, with good play, could easily turn into a 2v2 where the RLS would be able to pull off a win which would be rather exiting). If anything, RLS, is ruining tournaments. Doesn't mean they should be banned, but if they have counters, while still countering others, banning the first one seems rather retarded and irrational.

Junglecleave for once, shits all over triple DPS. So does PHD or any other Paladin based team (like Vanguards). But you're right, RLS might be countered like the other setups also are by RLS, so rather not let them in at all. We all prefer 15 minute games. And the comps you mentioed are all sub-par, yes. Junglecleave perhaps being the only strong one outside RLS currently.

It's just my 2 (perhaps a bit longer) cents. I know you play RLS yourself, but there is no reason to come off as biased as you do.

If you lose as RLS to 3 DPS, but win your other games, while 3 DPS lose to the rest, you will still end up winning the Tournameny. So where is the problem except some less boring 15 minute draws.

I really feel like you all missed the point of my post.

The point was: where do you stop balancing the game? If you say that anything can be so overpowered that is totally excluded, it's a slippery slope from there on out and you owe the players you're damaging by making that decision the consistency to remove everything that is overpowered. I feel like I could do great in a tournament without any Restoration Shaman teams, alright?

The fact of the matter is: the game is imbalanced. That's a very simple fact that can be proven over a control with hundreds of thousands of players over more than a year - insurmountable data that clearly proves my previous statement.

And Hewty.. are you even going to talk to me about killing the ladder or.. did you get 3500 in 3s legit? This isn't the Russian AJ, by the way. You're just a 3500 Priest that waited until Season 10 to come out of his shell, right?

--

www.arenastats.com

Shaman - 20%
Rogue - 19%
Warlock - 17%

Hunter - 5%
Paladin - 4%

Ideally, with ten classes, each would be at ten percent.. right? Rogues could lose more representation than Hunter even has and still have waaaay more than we do currently. And there are those poor totally broken Ret Paladins sharing representation between two specs at 4%. God, they are ruining the ladders!

The point wasn't whether or not triple DPS was, "overpowered." The point was: if you say one thing is overpowered, you must take steps to remove everything that is overpowered. So here you have it: Rogues and Restoration Shamans are not allowed in any more tournaments because they are between 5 and 10 times more powerful than any spec of Paladin, depending on the data you use.

But hey, let me know when the PHDKs and Junglecleave start farming those poor, poor RLS teams. I'm sure that will happen in one of these tournaments. Wouldn't that be awful if an RLS fought something and didn't stand a chance against it?

Want to beat me in this argument? Link me to 5 battlegroups anywhere in the world where an RLS isn't #1

oh wait, you can't.

edit: and if triple dps is really that strong, where are all the R1 triple dps teams at?

No Deadzone :)

Hunters in general just seem to look really awesome at the moment.

Also I'm a bit of a respec whore, so I'm hoping that this will help to prevent me from spending stupid amounts of gold on respeccing, as my PvP spec should 'technically' be just as good for PvE =]
