Hey, i'm Takenotezz, also known as Jake to many people. I played RPS in the ESL tournament with Roasty and Wizk. Wizk and I have had the highest RPS in the world for the last 3 seasons; with Smooch(Jahmilli) , Roasty, and Pikaboo. Although our comp isn't too strong, especially in a tournament setting, we decided to play it anyways. Our very first matchup was against a 2500 Monk TSG. This comp is a direct counter to RPS. We beat this team , a long with many other higher rated Monk TSGs on live. We felt confident in playing vs them, and we won 3-0. Our next matchup was against Mw monk, Ww monk, Destro warlock. This comp is also what seems to be a direct counter; anyone who PvPs at a high level and understands RPS's weaknesses/strengths would see why, We ended up losing 1-3. Keep in mind this team was not eligible to qualify; the ww monk (steven/balance) and the destro lock (ald/poutineboy) did not meet blizzard's blizzcon requirements. This sucked for us, because we faced two direct counters in our first two matchups, even though we won the first matchup, it still was very unlucky. We are now in the losers bracket, and face a destro MLS , which we destroy very quickly. Score ended up being 3-0. Our next comp to face was Monk Beast Cleave, which is also a direct counter to RPS. We actually stand 0 chance vs a decent Monk Beast Cleave. Once again, anyone who PVPs at a high level understands why. So at this point, it was obvious we were going to lose, because even if we beat Tosan/Twosticks/Diggles Monk Beastcleave, our next team to face was Glinks/Lifebloom/Mendi's Monk Beastcleave. Glink's team was better than Tosan's, and we would lose vs Tosan's team. I accepted the fact that we were going to lose, and the next day when we were scheduled to play, this idea of running godcomp into them came up. I was not okay with this at all, at first. Anyone who knows me could say that I would be the last person to be associated with something like this. For those of you who don't know, I've been dating an amazing girl who I met via WoW/Twitch named Elizabeth. I'm crazy for this girl, she's crazy for me. (I mean who wouldn't?) We met online, so distance is a huge problem for us. She lives in Maryland in the middle of nowhere, and I live in San Diego, California. We have met in person twice, once when i flew to see her in Maryland for a week, and the other when she flew to California to be with me for 10 days. Anyone who has been in a serious relationship knows how hard it is to be far away / not able to see your significant other for a long period of time. I havent seen her in about two months. I'm only 18 and I dont have loads of money to be able to see her as much as I would like to. When I found out that regionals were going to be in New York, and that if I went I would be able to see her, I wanted to do whatever it took to make that happen. If was a free trip to see the girl of my dreams who I've been missing so much. The next time I was supposed to see her was blizzcon, so this would be an oppurtunity to see her a month before blizzcon, for free. I agreed to playing godcomp on our team so that we could easily make it to regionals so that I could get what I wanted, to see my girlfriend. What I did was extremely wrong and unfair, but Elizabeth means a lot more to me. We played godcomp and easily won and made it to regionals. I felt awful after we had won; it was cheating, there was tons of posts/drama, people were mad at me, etc. Although we cheated, I think that specifically Wizk deserves to go to regionals more so than the teams that would have gone if we would have lost. Wizk is the best spriest in the game currently, and has held #1 priest all season long. Any top rated player can agree with this statement. Even though tons of people dislike Wizk, everyone will admit that he is extremely skilled. I feel that our team had a much higher skill level than the teams that we had to face to make it to regionals. (the two monk beastcleaves + the godcomp) Although this is true, we cheated and should definitely be disqualified. After the posts/forums blew up, a lot of my friends messaged me asking for details and other things, but If I wanted to see Elizabeth, I would have to keep quiet. This was the hardest thing for me, everyone calling me names, me losing the respect of many people/players, our team being frowned upon. I wanted to tell everyone the reasoning behind why I thought playing godcomp was acceptable, but I couldn't. We ended up getting disqualified, which sucked at first because there goes the opportunity to see Elizabeth, but it was also a relief because all the stress was going away. Here is where the apologies come in.
First off, I want to apologize most importantly to Chanimal, also known as Adam. Adam has been my biggest inspiration in WoW, I love him as a player, I love him as a person. I feel like I let him down the most; he messaged me asking why I allowed what happened to happen, and there was nothing I could tell him. He is one of the coolest, nicest, funniest guys I have ever met; IRL and online. I apologize to you Adam, hopefully this doesn't change much.
Secondly, I would like to apologize to Jahmilli. Jahmilli was accused of playing the mage in our godcomp, and took so much disrespect from people in his stream. People automatically accused him for doing something that he took absolutely zero part in. What happened caused a reaction and ended up with Jahmilli losing fans and the respect of some of the WoW community. Along with Jahmilli, I want to apologize to Tease. Tease knew Jahmilli had no part in it, and had to see Jahmilli getting accused of doing something he didn't do. She was, I imagine, directly affected by the whole ESL tournament as well because of the actions occurred with my team. I apologize to you.
Next I want to apologize to all the players of the tournament who were affected by what happened with team Jake'n'Bake. Pikaboo, (one of the coolest guys on WoW, really funny, rogue prodigy, I've always wanted to impress/play with, I'm also low-key his biggest fan) Snutz, Venruki, Cdew, (all players who I have always watched/looked up to/wanted to impress/be liked by when I first started playing) Dillypoo, (a really close friend of mine who is just a all around great human being. have enjoyed playing/spending a lot of time with him) Tosan (never really got to know him, always been a fan of his old PVP movies, feel like we are on a bad note currently) Glink (Glink is one of the most fun guys to play with; always a positive attitude, loves to mess around, known him for a while and we have been known to be great friends, hope we still can be) The godcomp we played for the last spot in regionals (don't know any of them, but they deserved a fair chance to regionals, which they did not get.) Novoz's Team/Vanguard's Team ( both teams with extremely skilled/known and respected players, when they heard about what was happening with our team and us making it to regionals, was very unfair for them)
Next is all of twitch/wow community/my fans/friends who weren't mentioned. Sorry for letting you down, this will never happen again. I just hope that anyone who doesn't know me won't judge my character based off of this one event, I hope everyone can look past this and accept my apology.
And I last want to apologize to Blizzard/ESL for saying that this is by far the most unorganized tournament ever. Very unprofessional, poor foundation, little to no admins to help with unanswered questions, rules / whole way the tournament was ran was absurd.
Sorry to everyone, hope that this clears everything up and that people can look past what happened, thanks for whoever read this.
