Rilor clearly has no idea what he is talking about.
Lol yeah, okay buddy. Continue thinking that the olympic lifts are comprised of the squat, dead and bench. The only thing you have any clue of is spewing bullshit from your fingertips.

he already has a trainer
That doesn't mean that it's not a waste of money. Any information that a trainer can give is easily found on the internet for free.

everyone i see in the gym uses gloves, you will get callouses if you don't use them and lift every day
The vast majority of people in any gym look like shit, why should what they do influence you? If you always do what the majority does then how will you ever stand out?

i guess supporting your knees and back isn't cool, sry rilor
It's a well known fact that belts and wraps cause injuries among beginners. One the loads that they are moving do not require the support. Two they don't know how to engage their muscles to benefit from them properly.

they are the basic elements in the olympic lifts you ignorant asshole except pullups which i believe are important personally, no reason to be cleaning and jerking all over the place just to be an asshole
No. No they are not. I have never seen anything in weightlifting that has ever resembled a bench press, or a deadlift. The mechanics of the movements are entirely different. Weightlifting and powerlifting are two completely different sports, you colossal mongoloid.

Got a classic case of "Face good enough that don't need to make an effort with body syndrome"

Was planning to hit gym lots but i'm so busy with uni work + my job : (
Girls only care about the face anyway so there's no point in lifting.

It's about the type of weightlifting. You're trying to do the heaviest weight you can, in the important muscle groups. The Olympic lifts were chosen by smart men, for good reasons.

Maybe it's possible, but I don't think anyone has beaten them for general fitness. Deadlift, squat, bench press, pullups. These exercises are the most important, more important than anything else. The ability to do these exercises relevantly will ensure that your body is good enough.
Those aren't the olympic lifts though...

Use some of the money you are spending on:

a trainer who will lift with you, spot you and teach you form Any trainer worth their weight is going to cost an arm and a leg, waste of money
some preworkout Waste of money, caffeine pills or coffee is enough
some gloves Waste of money + you look like a fag
any support for your back or knees or wrists you might need Waste of money unless there is a pre-existing injury, even then it's better to fix it than to put a bandaid on it

Wear your new shoes, some shorts, and a comfortable shirt. Try hard on the exercises. Eat like an organism which requires fuel to maintain its body.

problem solved boys, going home
