Today EVERY comp feels the same, scripted. And having classes that dont cast to do damage its fucking retarded beyond belief.

Yes, the baseline duration of CC was longer in WOTLK BUT almost every class had a talent that reduced CC by 30% and dispel didn't have a CD which is one of the main reasons why the game feel so scripted and Offensive CDs, which back then didn't have such a big role.

That's actually funny because Blizzard RTS games are partially so successful because races have very unique aspects and yet they're balanced extremely well, way better than WoW PvP has ever been balanced. Even their new moba Heroes has a considerable amount of heroes that work fundamentally differently than your average hero.

You can't compare FPS, RTS and MOBAs to a MMORPG, those types of games were made thinking about competitive play from a PVP point a view, MMORPG wasn't.

WoTLK was far from being balanced but the gameplay allowed players to improvise and the wins always used to feel rewarding.

WoW doesn't have to be balanced it has to be FUN and IMHO the endless chase of balance made the game too homogenized, clearly making it alot less fun and also scripted.
