How does it feel to commit identity theft over a video game?

Dno, I have a question for you tho
How does it feel to have such a pathetic life that you're spending your time hating on someone that wouldn't even waste his saliva spiting on your ugly face on a video game forum?

#3837038 Good bye competition

Posted crazieh on 18 January 2013 - 11:16 AM

Cool change, but they should add an achievment for 1550, 1750 and so on for each SEASON so people constantly have something to aim for. But yeah it's great that there isn't going to be this huge monster gap in gear anymore, also allows me to play my alts more and dual spec without spending my life capping every week :)

Good change overall!

I won't be able to stop them this time grrrr

On a more serious note I wonder how TSG is and seeing Zilea loosing to it would entertain the whole tournament by itself

Disarmable bladestorm wasn't really something that people were ever demanding in the first place. Blizzard just kind of threw it in as a means to stop the high damage, but many warriors were actually quite upset with the change as their primary burst was completely worthless vs many teams. Unrelenting assault was stupid, but you have to realize that Wotlk was balanced around everything being extremely strong. Warriors were very good just like every other class. I don't really remember what the deal was with dispellable DP or divine plea. I'll give you prot/holy paladins, but they were only really a reigning 2's spec, so it wasn't that big of a deal. Death knights have always been EXTREMELY annoying, and that's not wotlk exclusive. If you mean first half of s6 and s5, then yeah that's sort of a testament to the difficulty of adding an entirely new class into a pvp environment. I believe I'm right in saying that monks are also unbalanced right now in the sense that they are lackluster. It takes time to effectively recognize the changes required for an entirely new class. About half way through wotlk, dks were reasonably balanced and good just like other classes. I'm too lazy to tackle everything else, but most of the rest of the stuff is s8 exlusive, which was full of dumb shit. Sure, destro lock damage and the fact that they completely countered casters was amazingly cheap. Elemental shamans were very good as well with select teams, but it's not like those were the only 2 viable things or as if it was even close to that situation. S8 had A LOT of viable comps and while the ladder had many druids and locks and shamans, it also had other classes that dominated as well. Vilerozes' MLD made LSD look like it was a mediocre comp ._. Every single class and even most specs in s8 had tons of BS about them, which aided in somewhat balancing the game. The best part about that part of the game was the fact that cataclysm homogenization had not yet occurred as well. You still had hybrids being hybrids and unique healers with unique niches. Discipline sucked at everything but was still in blizzcon grandfinals at the end of the day with amazing/unique healer burst. S8 was the peak for wow pvp until the end and regardless of how much some people hated it, it was generally revered for allowing success with almost any spec. Shadowmourne was legitimately stupid though. Blizzard's slow reactions toward fixing stuff in s8 was actually a blessing in disguise as we saw players strategically adapting instead of just QQing for months until a new patch hit. S8 began with infinite complaints about how ridiculous shadowpriests were. As s8 continued, people adapted and learned how to get around many shadowpriest tools. Everyone was playing mut for a while and was tired of getting globalled. Many of the smarter rogues transitioned to sublety to compensate for the metagame change. The lack of changes actually served as a setting for players to improve and adapt.

I kind of lost whatever point I was trying to make with this post but chea
Wow a smart guy with no bias

#3806755 Hildegard is blogging from Shanghai about the BWC tournament

Posted WildeHilde on 17 November 2012 - 03:38 PM

Time for opinions! This time not the frontpage, so less whining probably.

WoW players are popstars in China

It's so f***ing different. When you walk with Reckful through the hotel lobby or the BWC Pavillion you can expect that every few yards someone will ask him for a photo, a signature or even a hug. When players leave the stage the winners are crowded. No places to sit if you come late, left and right people standing, taking photos and security guards having a hard time keeping the area around the stage clear. And they are cheering. Not some lame clapping, it's more like a concert, it's emotional and even though most viewers don't understand a lot about the game the get excited.

There is nothing comparable in WoW with what happened today and will be surpased tomorrow. No title, no tournament up until now came anywhere as close, not even during the best WoW times in the West during WotLK. We live in an insane hotel, players get massaged, free rides, lovely food and everyone is treated like it's show business. It's not some nerd stuff, this is what many people dream of secretly. Even for the teams struggeling it's probably one of the most amazing experiences of their lives.

It was odd when walking through the hype to read AJ rants, they felt so disconnected from what was happening there. Question is if this hype from Korea for SC:BW and China for WoW and LoL will swap over to the West, if players are actually becoming stars and be sponsored by real companies, not just the usual IT suppliers aiming for nerds. I think the pictures from Shanghai will start to convince companies to give E-Sports a try. Tournaments will get better as people get more experienced and rumours about huge investments are whispered through the PvP scene.

The ladders just don't matter if you look at tournaments. The ladders don't bring this emotion. I remember players saying BG9 or it doesn't matter. It's time to say tournaments or it doesn't matter.

Quality
The current tournaments still lack quality. Be it the current one in Shanghai with long stream breaks, a UI that is stonge age tech compared to ArenaLive or the moderation. Blizzard stepped up quite a bit compared to the BlizzCon or the regionals and I don't think there are many tournaments that can compete from an entertainment point of view (unsure about the stream, talking about live, haven't watched the stream). Online tournaments are getting bigger. Up until now most tournaments did not focus too much on the players, did not put them in the center of attention.

As sad as many may say that the state of balance is, this game still enjoyable with a crappy UI, balance issues, the everlasting caster-cleaves dominating tournament after tournament. I think soon the money for the good and entertaining players will come from other sources than boosting. The future for WoW looks bright, but maybe the players profiting will be different ones. New faces, good looking with a positive attitude and not blight-colored nerds, that exploit ladders and whore themselves with boosting. A community not based on trolls but based on discussion, entertainment and fun. I for one am looking forward to it.

What an horrible community lol, im trying to provide content to people to help them improving/keeping interrest into the game and that's what im getting?
I am actually trying to work hard for ppl not only doing typing test and collecting money, using something ive built over the years

The video on AJ frontpage is for obvious reasons, why does it bother you so much? youd rather keep looking at tr announcement when its out since 1 week ?

I didn't do shit to hydra and xandyn admitted it later but his post got deleted (lol).

@ Starcookie : you should focus on improving instead of bitching like that because trust me you are really bad at this game, i won't even bother making things i know about you public because it implies other persons but i know how much of an horrible human being you are too.

Haters you can keep hating, followers i hope it helped you and let me know if you want to see more in the future so i don't quit this game

This is such bullshit. I personally have no idea what the fuck is going on when I watch Starcraft 2 games. The only reason competitive professional arena isn't more popular is because Blizzard stopped fucking giving a shit about it, scrapped the spectator UI and tried to switch focus to rated BGs(unsuccessfully). Blizzard tanked the professional scene 100%.

Just wanted to back you up on this, i think you are right that was my first reaction when i saw this.
I think commentators are the main factor to make a game understandable for viewers, and i think WoW is easier to understand than Starcraft 2 for new players with great commentators like Azael or Conrad.
Starcraft 2 commentators are just so good, they know the game almost as much as top players do and they are funny/dynamic so it makes it so much easier to understand what's happening.
I dno why GC answered that but i hope thats not cause he doesnt understand shit himself, would be sad.
