with league and csgo becoming more popular by the day, it is only natural for a player with a competitive mindset to swap game to a game that offers a competitive structure, right?
WoW is still great for what it offers. PvE, the whole social aspect and casual pvp. Lets be real tho, as long as blizzard doesnt make 3000% more pvp only changes, the game wont attract a wider playerbase set on becoming better at the game. There's a reason the names dont change at the top of the ladder. There's no way to stand out as a new rising player, there's a "circle" of top players playing 5-10 hours/day for the past 5 years, it is a VERY bumpy road if u wanna get into that circle and remain in it.
Comparing it quickly to csgo and league there's a solo q system where you can stand out and be noticed that way.
To answer to OP; This is a pvp forum, assuming everyone here prefers pvp over pve, the game is going downhill from a competitive point of view while the competitor games such as league & csgo is rising in popularity by the minute. I think it's safe to say the vast majority is quitting the game unless theres a massive wave of new players I dont know about. I checked my skype the other day and noticed around 10 old school pvpers public msg sayin they wanna sell their accounts, lol
I am not entirely sure if a lot of you are aware since I dont see that much noise about this but theyve changed how you gain rating and its absolutely awful
the max amount of points you can get from a win is 20 pts now after you are over a certain rating which is around 1900s? correct me if i'm wrong
what does this mean?
it means that if you are gaining rating on your alt and you have 2500 mmr but only are 2200 you only gain 20 points per win
if you are 2600 and you face a 2900 team you still are once again rewarded with only 20 points
so not only does it have an effect on climbing the ladder and rewarded for beating high mmr teams but it also is having an effect on the cutoffs (for US anyways i don't pay attention to EU cutoffs for obvious reason so someone on EU could confirm/deny if the cutoffs are being affected in a negative way also)
R1 cutoff is now 2738 for the US and glad is 2507, R1 cutoff before was around the mid 2740s and i can't remember what the cutoff was for glad before but I do know that it was higher than that
so the cutoffs are actually going down instead of going up as the season progresses which is disgusting.
it makes it absolutely ridiculous to gain rating after a certain point which makes people want to sit rating because of this so the ladder becomes even more dead than it was before
so please make some noise @ blizzard on the forums or hotlinka on twitter about this so they revert this just like they did with the 10% when we were quite vocal about how unhappy we were with that change
Any form of "blanket" buff or debuff is very bad for the game other than the buffs in raid instances intended to nerf the content. To me the real problem is when things such as "The Crowd Chooses You!" and "Dampening" completely alter game play and comps is a core problem. Remember when teams would open on the healer then pillar for 20 minutes because of TCCY? In MoP they said they didn't want to have such a huge disparity between damage in PvE and PvP because of how resilience played out. Were already heading down that path unless 6.2 overhauls on a global scale which is very unlikely.
Personally, I never really understood what exactly was wrong with things like Lich King and Cataclysm itemization because seasons so far with PvP only gear haven't been better than ones with the PvE gear. The only instance would probably be early season 11 with DS trinkets and early daggers with season 8 to a lesser extent.
You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villan.
If Reckful didnt come back to WoW after he quit in Cata he would have left a legacy as the best arena player of all time. In recent years his shenangins and amtics on wow amd stream kind of tarnished the reputation of being a top player. However, his past accomplishments and videos will always be respected and impressive.
Hes an entertainer more than the pro gamer he was known as at this point, which isnt necessarily bad, but its just a shift in his image.
Although, can you blame the guy? Sure he sold out, but who wouldn't want all the donations and money he gets just for playing games and having fun?
Although imo he fucks around with way too many other woman and Jenna probably deserves better. Maybe shes in it for the fame/money though who knows.
if you've time, could you elaborate more on why we prefere versality over crit? and how can i find out stuff like this?
Right now our stat priority for the most damage just ends up being versatility>crit>multistrike>haste>mastery.
Versatility is not only a better dps increase even on enchants but it also makes us tankier. While crit is still very nice to have especially because aimed shot crits give us 20 focus back, it is important to remember that crits are only 150% instead of 200% in a pvp setting.
