#2855024 Grounding totem & UA

Posted by EMCL on 29 November 2010 - 10:32 AM

kinda risky tbh. in arena even if you run behind LoS to try to do it, the grounding buff goes on your allies and if any are within range/LoS of enemies its unlikely you'll be quick enough to nab the UA

good to know though!

#2760894 Skillcap

Posted by EMCL on 26 October 2010 - 03:07 AM

Skill cap is how effective someone can be if they play perfectly and make perfect decisions.

A perfectly played shaman (of any spec) means perfect wind shears/groundings/etc.

Any shaman has a higher skill cap than pretty much any class (maybe priest with perfect dispels or lock or mage idk, def not dk though)

#2427255 [2v2] rogue ele vs RM and RP

Posted by EMCL on 21 July 2010 - 06:58 AM

I havent played the comp in forever, but this is what we used to do vs disc/rogue

It's quite literally a complete rushdown of the priest. You sap him, clean buffs with purge, then lust and open with cheapshot. Do as much damage as possible (Flame shock EM lightning bolt before he puts pain sup on), then kidney. during the kidney use a hex (he'll have to trinket it, so he'll be hexed for a few seconds unable to reapply shields/PS.

Your rogue should vanish garrote and continue spamming dps. Utilize your trinket, t storm, and earthbind all to keep the opposing rogue from shutting you down. Make sure you're using all instants possible (shocks, fire nova, etc)

usually there's nothing the priest can do

if the rogue opens on you before your rogue can sap, try to have your rogue control the opposing until you both are free to start out the above strategy (vanish cheapshot may be necessary)

#2309794 LSDs ....

Posted by EMCL on 19 June 2010 - 07:59 PM

Revitalize is the reason ele sham's dont go oom in lsd.

prehots and lock peels are the reasons shaman are durable in lsd.

lava burst is the reason lsd can do shitton of burst at times.

UA + root/earthbind/fear is the reason lsd has so much utility.

very little of that is dependent on the ele sham.

#1957913 [3v3] Ele/War/Hpala, PoV as ele - Clips

Posted by EMCL on 16 March 2010 - 10:33 AM

never seen or heard about kollektiv playing 5s in s2?

It was similar to this in that the only damage kollektiv did was when going for a full out kill.

Yet he casted a shit ton of heals when not doing that.

Blowi seems to not cast anything except when going for the kill, opting instead for instant casts and positioning changes.

#1865544 Ele Shaman skill cap?

Posted by EMCL on 20 February 2010 - 11:25 PM

I would say its at the easiest point it's ever been.

Shaman as a class is slightly difficult as its a very reactive glass with 5 sec wind shear and 10 sec grounding totem, and positioning is arguably the most important of any ranged calss as you have to have proper position for totem range (30 yd radius to get allies out of fear etc), hex range (20 yd) wind shear range, purge range, etc etc and all the while be able to LoS an enemy's spell if you're out of interrupts.

Ele on the other hand simply adds the dynamic of going pewpew when the time is right.

I would say though that thunderstorm has the most potential of any ability in the entire game.

so the skill cap to be a good ele sham is relatively low, but to be an innovative and gamechanging ele sham can be high.

#1859338 [3v3] Aff / Ele / Hpal vs WLD.

Posted by EMCL on 19 February 2010 - 06:25 AM

hit war whenever hes offensive

swap to pet when warr has full hots

back to warr after pet dead/gets hots and siphon life

swap to druid when hes feared into middle

basically swap off anything with full hots and druid will run oom/youll kill shit

if you drop two pets you can tunnel lock and win ezpz

#1853393 High Rated Elitists

Posted by EMCL on 17 February 2010 - 07:06 PM

my greatest satisfaction in this game is the little lvl 1s comin over and saying "omg emcl how do you win in your super duper complex so hard to play comp ?!?!" and me responding with "gtfo noob l2p k no gear all skill"

so you're all crazy

edit: I realize it's the internet. That was sarcasm.

#1814244 Rate this Elemental Gear/Spec Setup!

Posted by EMCL on 06 February 2010 - 09:43 PM

pretty much perfect... although

To be honest I prefer more crit, especially with this resilience change. Obviously I know that the hotfix had no effect on crit, but because it's become so powerful, people tend to wear more and more of it. Thus I see the possibility of becoming oom more likely as we're less likely to get consistent crits off.

#1766417 Double heals for a Rshammy!

Posted by EMCL on 25 January 2010 - 11:04 PM

I think the strongest double healer next season is going to be disc priest/resto sham/ua warlock.

double offensive dispel, double defensive dispel, mana burn and mana drain, realistically no one can go oom before the other team, bloodlust with new ua is ridonk, interrupts for other double healer teams (your priest will always win because of your wind shear), you'll even be able to beat all double healer warrior teams (except maaaaaaaaybe pally/druid because of druid unhexable gayness).

that and disc/ele/ua is what i'm running.

#1618646 ele shaman, what race?

Posted by EMCL on 18 December 2009 - 12:26 AM

They all have their advantages and disadvantages, it depends on your style truly.

I would say the most defensive is orc, the most offensive is troll, and the most utility is tauren.

#1587750 Fire nova change not enough?

Posted by EMCL on 09 December 2009 - 08:26 PM

I tested this with glyph talent and really the only thing its good for is dueling melee.

You can do frost shock fire nova frost shock fire nova forever which kills anything before it kills you really.

Edit: with stoneclaw, lightning shield, and an emlvb obviously

#254544 Growl eats grounding totem.

So next time that pesky shaman drops a grounding totem after you freezing trap.. just have your pet growl at his target :)

You're welcome
