You have to know that there's much difference between a class is "fun" to play and "can do well" in arenas.
Old days , if you want to do well/have fun in arenas as resto shaman (apart from positioning and all this shit) you would always have to be at shocking , constantly keeping ur tremor totem down , popping lust at a good timing , purging when needed
Most of this mechanics are now much less or you can call it "non existent"
Right now , it doesnt even matter if you will shock or not , 25 sec cooldown ?
shaman is just moving towards being wotlk Holy paladin , Healing machine with much less mechanics
This is what i think , You dont have to copy what i said and call me stupid , Because i didnt say shaman "isnt good" , Shaman can still do good ... just not fun as before
your mage and lock should bring the fight next to their shaman ,
for constant swaps with deeps on him , while you'r staying away
IF their shaman position himself next to the pillar and the 2v2 dps fight goes in the middle you will lose
Remember, Always get their shaman invloved in the fight , with swaps and control on him
once he runs out of cooldowns (ns/trinket/SLT) you should easily kill global their shaman

Summons a Spirit Link Totem with 5 health at the feet of the caster. The totem reduces damage taken by all party and raid members within 10 yards by 10%. Every 1 sec, the health of all affected players is redistributed, such that each player ends up with the same percentage of their maximum health. Lasts 6 sec.

Is it affected by any talents ?
yes it's affected by totemic reach which makes it extending to 13 yards , and affected by totemic focus which makes it last for 8.4 seconds
Things i have noticed while testing it :
-it works pretty much when someone line of sighting you and in range of it (you can los ur friend and enemies behind a pillar, drop the totem and heal urself )
-The first tick of totem comes out "1 second" after you drop it , Althought you get the 10% damage reduction once you drop it , Which means The hp of party members wont be redistributed once you drop it , it takes 1 second
-It's something considered not really useful to know with other totems, but i think it is with this one due to its very limited range , Is that whenever you drop an air totem it drops on ur "Back left" side And since the 13 yards circle is around the totem not "Yourself" , you can easily outrange ur friend if you'r dropping the totem the wrong way ,You will find out that the direction you'r looking at can significantly affect the range of totem with 3 yards Towards your friend (Which is good) Or away from ur friend (which is bad)
In short version : Try to make your team mates on ur left side when you'r about to drop ur totem if you care about extra 2-3 yards, if you dont then nvm
