pretty much perfect... although

To be honest I prefer more crit, especially with this resilience change. Obviously I know that the hotfix had no effect on crit, but because it's become so powerful, people tend to wear more and more of it. Thus I see the possibility of becoming oom more likely as we're less likely to get consistent crits off.

General Information
Mage/Priest is an extremely fun setup to play. There is always a chance at winning against any team. Think positive while playing, excuses are for baddies.

The general strategy is:
Kill someone while the healer is sheepedx3+(mind control)>fear+CS+resheep. We keep both priest DoTs and slow on our kill target. We save our mana and play defensive when the healer trinkets/bubbles or when they use defensive CDs(such as Anti-Magic Shell/Zone, Shield Wall, Icebound Fortitude, Cloak of Shadows, etc.)

*When the healer is in your CC chain, make sure BOTH of you are going all out on DPS on your kill target. Keep both priest DoTs and Slow up!


Tips:
-Against warriors and rogues, use highest rank of Amplify Magic. Against warlocks, use highest rank of Dampen Magic.
-Get Turtle Polymorph, it’s awesome!  But really, it’s easier to see on Gladius. If you don’t know what Gladius is, go get it.


Strengths:
Mage/Priest setup has an incredible amount of crowd control, the capability of resetting countless times, and peals for each other.

Weaknesses
The only weakness is priest survivability against warriors with PVE gear.

Builds

There are 2 common builds for mage/priest, Arcane and Frost. I use Arcane, 51/0/20 or 60/0/11.

My priest partner, Bilian, uses 60/11/0.

Gear

:mage:Full PVP gear, with maybe 1 or 2 pieces of PVE gear. Arcane needs a lot of resiliance, more than Frost. In order to reset many times and allow your priest to drink, you need to be able to stay alive as long as possible, especially since it takes about 4 seconds to start drinking now.

:priest:Full PVP gear, with maybe rings or trinkets being PVE.




Strategies:

Note on Strategies: For each strategy there will be a rating of 1-5 for difficulty (1 being easy, 5 being hardest) and a 1-5 for how often the setup appears.

*Druid Teams:

Difficulty - 1
Appearance – 3

Against druid teams, fear them > dispel > kill. When fear breaks, use imp CS and that should give enough time to finish it.

DK/Holy Paladin:

Difficulty - 3
Appearance – 3

Dispel DK, sheep paladin. Kill the DK and reset when paladin trinkets/bubbles or when the DK uses AMS/AMZ. If the DK uses AMS/AMZ before CC chain on paladin starts, then it is your lucky day.

Feral Druid/Paladin or Priest:

Difficulty - 3
Appearance – 1

When druid comes out of stealth, fully dispel him. Sheep the paladin/priest and kill the druid. Reset if they trinket. If druid uses survival instincts when the healer trinkets, they won’t have any defensive CDs for the next CC chain.

Hunter/Priest:

Difficulty - 2
Appearance - 1

Sheep priest, kill hunter. Reset when priest trinkets. Keep both dots on hunter.

Mage/Rogue:

Difficulty – 1
Appearance -1.5

Both the mage and rogue can be kill targets. Kill the rogue after he cloaks, or dispel the mage and kill him. CSing polymorphs can help your priest a lot. Keep frost ward up and kite the rogue as much as possible.

Priest/Mage:

Difficulty - 1
Appearance – 1

Dispel the Mage. Once dispelled, sheep the priest, kill the mage. If the priest trinkets, reset. If the mage ice blocks, mass dispel it and finish him. Remember to keep dispelling the mage when he uses ice barrier/mana shield.

Priest/Ret Paladin:

Difficulty - 2
Appearance – 1

Mana burn priest all game then kill him. Juggle sheeps between priest and paladin.

Priest/Warlock:

Difficulty – 2
Appearance – 2

Mana burn the priest, all game. Once OOM, kill him. CS warlock’s shadow tree or priest’s mana burns. Spam sheeps on warlock as much as possible. Keep priest dispelled. Make sure slow is on priest to annoy him when he tries to burn.

Priest/Rogue:

Difficulty – 3
Appearance – 2

Dispel the rogue when he comes out. Once dispelled, dot and slow him while sheeping the priest. Reset the fight when the rogue cloaks or the priest trinkets. If they trinket and cloak at the same time, you are very lucky and should easily get a kill when polymorph is off DR.


Paladin/Warrior:

Difficulty - 4
Appearance – 2

Dispel warrior, sheep paladin, then kill the warrior. Several resets might be needed due to divine sacrifice/bubble/trinket/shield wall.

I've been away from the game for a while now (like 3 months or smth), but all I see when browsing these boards nowadays is combo's bashing eachother that they require 0 skill.
RMP says beastcleave requires no skill.
Beastcleave saying mancleave requires no skill.
Mancleave saying wizardcleave requires no skill.
Wizardcleave saying RMP takes no skill.

There used to be some controversy regarding cheesy combo's before, but isn't this honestly going to far? Ofcourse the current state of the game contributes to this overal feeling that nothing seems to require skill anymore. Yet in my opinion it seems utterly stupid that all that happens nowadays is bashing eachothers combos.

I remember that these boards, mostly in early TBC, used to have shitloads of useful information & up to a certain level pretty mature discussion about arena, state of the game & matchups. All I seem to read nowadays are fucktarded replies & whining about everything requiring no skill.
I'm browsing the bracket forums and like 90% of the posts there is people bashing their counters that they require 0 skill to play.
Ofcourse some combo's are harder to play then others, yet it really isn't necisarry to smear it out 24/7

Now i'd be a hypocrit if I'd say I never do anything stupid like trolling on these boards, because I'm very well aware that I do so. Yet it amazes me I never even got a single infraction.
By saying this, I realize that I'm saying I should be penalized myself. I very much thought I would at some points, yet I never was.
So what is my point then? That I believe moderators should act more swiftly against all the whining & trolling that happens on these boards. It might very well affect my own status here on AJ, yet I'm 100% sure the quality of these boards would improve drasticly again.


TL;DR version:
1) AJ has become hardly any better than general PVP forum.
2) All people do is bash everybody around them for playing 0 skill combos.
3) This has completly destroyed the AJ forums, it's nothing compared to what it used to be.
4) Moderators should deal with this faster & be way less tolerant.
