#1637461 [Priest] Shadow Priest PvP

Posted salice on 23 December 2009 - 06:08 PM

Generally you're going to be better off being able to DPS more consistently rather than catching yourself casting many mana burns.  In more situations than the other, you'll find it more advantatious to keep up your dots and keep up pressure by damage.

Within that specific comp though it could definitely be something to look at and experiment, but with the majority of situations, I don't see myself wanting to mana burn over doing the damage.

Envenom spec is pretty brutal on warriors. I'd open on warrior and try to blow hex/blind/poly/fear on the other 4 and get trinkets poppin. If someone trinkets start dispelling and get ready to swap, pally, shaman, priest are pretty viable targets.

No offence but really what spec discussion can there be? its either Unholy or Gtfo unless your in some weird ass combo. For one thing tho points in subversion can go fuck themselves and it will be going back in pale horse or maybe wandering plague.

Or are you just going to stay the cookie-cutter UH build and just adjust to the nerfs?

That's all you had to say. How are you going to adjust to the only being able to chains 1 target at once? How do you expect to stick on a target and at the same time be able to peel another? I have my own ideas on this, but this whole thread is directed to anybody who needs help, as I'm seeing alot of these people in the 20+ threads here crying about the nerfs.

#1569295 Isn't this getting somewhat stupid?

This is what happens when something gets too popular, more people = more idiots

you can not expect moderators to read every single post in every single thread

if people report trolls properly they do actually get banned or the post in question gets deleted

Aye I know. But like in the ESL live thread from last week, there were moderators reading & posting in the thread. I personally acted pretty fucktarded init & didn't get any infraction or warning at all.
Not saying that I want one, but looking back at it, if I was moderating there, I would've given myself an infraction for sure.

Overall it's pretty true but you can't expect everyone to just be humble about another comp.  Sadly it's just going to be a reoccuring theme just because it's just human nature and I doubt we'll ever stop hearing about it :(.

I know, I also said so in my original post that it's only natural that ppl occasionally get upset & whine about a cheesy combo. That has happened ever since the beginning of arena.
Yet now the majority of the posts are all about whining about every single class/combo that there is.

satrinas buff frames. create a new frame for important procs/buffs/whatever and put it under your char and one for important debuffs. that works best for me. but imo its just personal preference if u take powerauras or sbf. i like sbf.

Debuff Filter works better overall for this IMO, separate frames for your buffs, your debuffs, target buffs, target debuffs, and focus buffs, focus debuffs.  Each filtered independently.

#1563098 +Rep system suggestion to the forums

I'll probably use the rep system either way, but I absolutely agree with Subpar. Right now it's 3 clicks to add rep, and 3 clicks + type a reason to remove rep. 1 Click to add or remove rep is a big improvement. Having to click "ok" on the "thanks for blah blah blah" message every time by default seems like bad design, not that I'm in any way qualified to judge site design.

It's just a few mouse clicks, and the rep is just an easy way to judge post quality.  There's no penalty (at least not atm), so there's no real harm in being intimidated away from posting due to extreme finger fatigue :p

Subpar posted this in another thread

"No offense but I think this system is too much work for people to actually use. If it were possible to have simple up and down arrows with a post rating (Like Reddit or Gameriot.) it would probably get some more use :P."

Thought this was interesting.. but if I'm going slightly out my way to + or - someone then would it make it more meaningful? Other sites don't allow you to leave a description if I remember correctly though.

Curious what other people think
