Duplicate yourself. Remove Conrad - weekly viewer casted games just got better.

Hey Talb!

Thank you for showing interest in the Weekly Viewer Casted Games by Conradical and Azael (aka the WVCGftC&A). We've taken your suggestion into consideration, however it's currently not possible with our technology. If we're able to do something like this in the future, we'll definitely consider the possibility of maybe taking your suggestion and implementing something like it.

#3822311 Shockwave

Posted Draax on 16 December 2012 - 03:26 PM

I love how everyone tries to compare classes vs each other via 1 ability. Deep is not Shockwave yes it is a weaker stun but the mage mastery makes them do more damage to people in their stun plus every mage gets deep as base ability. Remorseless winter my be much worse than shockwave but DK has chains of ice which completely trumps hamstring. Every class is different and basing a single ability vs other classes similar ability will not balance the game. The only thing that does is have threads like this where everyone cries about other classes and how their stun is so much better than their own.

The constructive way to go about it would be to look at the other talents in that tier; Bladestorm and Dragon Roar. Both of which are a complete joke compared to shockwave.

Who do you think will win?
When I first heard of this match I personally thought Kollektiv's team would have an edge, but I heard Bailamost's roster will also be composed of many top rated tournament players.

I don't know if I should cheer for Mes or Sodahs!

#3817502 World Series of RBGs Team Bailamos vs Team Kollektiv

Posted Bailamosx on 08 December 2012 - 08:31 PM

Read the Headline. World's Blizzcon Champion Kollektiv will lead a handpicked team of his best 10 vs Self-Proclaimed World's R1 RBG Leader Bailamos team of 10.

Time: This Upcoming Saturday and Sunday December 15th, 16th @ 6PM PST.

1) The FC that is present in CTF should be in all games

2) No speed capping a node before a game.

3) We'll wargame each of the six RBG maps three times, each in a randomized round-robin order.

4) Both teams are able to switch team compositions each game.

5) No non-arena cooldowns (including Ankh, Army, Lay on Hands, Rebirth, Lust, etc)

6) No "ghosting" or peeking on the opposing team's streams. This should include all players on the roster.

*NOTE: WE WILL REMOVE EOTS as the RBG Wargame Map has the mechanics of the Regular EOTS BG cap over time and not the RBG version in which you click on a flag to cap a node.

Feel free to add any other thoughts or ideas concerning the series, how we can better it, etc.

#3775413 The Arena Junkies PvP interview with Greg "Ghostcrawler" Street

Posted WildeHilde on 20 September 2012 - 10:34 AM

Well Ghostcrawler said in this very interview that he thinks linking and announcing tournaments from the launcher is a cool idea. That will help to convince the community/pr team. This sentence is the most important in the whole interview in my opinion. I think for most people tournaments would be interesting, but they tune in, understand nothing, see still screens and have to wait because someone f***ed up resetting their IP and turning of Skype. If tournaments want to be entertaining there can be no downtime. You need material for downtimes prepared and not improvise if something goes wrong. Also the casters explained too little for a long time.

But most importantly. The arena scene needs to understand that the guys without junkie status make the tournaments succesful. Look at Team Liquid for an example. High rated players discuss with newbies and those that stay in gold or even silver for two years straight. The current arena scene is very elitist and we need to make the whole playerbase feel welcome.

#3773082 ArenaJunkies Ghostcrawler interview - post your questions

Arena has been the one part of the game which has barely changed since it was released over five years ago. No doubt its age, lack of incentive for newcomers, and redundant rewards have been major factors for its decline in popularity. The gear rewards and progression are the same season to season down to the stat allocation, bumped up by X item levels. Titles have remained exactly the same since the incarnation of arena and mounts are only reserved for less than 0.5% of the player base (people quitting, carries, people getting glad on multiple chars), and any gear disparity only happens at a high rating.

As I'm sure you know - MMO players want something that distinguishes themselves from the rest and goals to work towards. I know a lot of players who would just get their full set of gear, and then quit because they have nothing else to play for the rest of the season because they're not able to compete for elite gear or a gladiator title/mount. It was a good choice to move away from gear disparity for balance sake, but wouldn't simple vanity rewards and goals be good for the currently stale system? Pets, bonus titles (e.g. Flawless Victor), transmog gear, special mounts, achievements...these are things that would revitalize a lot of interest in the 90%+ of arena players that don't compete for top rewards.

Rating decay in teams, it needs to be done that simple.
