Somebody lost to a baddy and is bitter imo

They aren't mmr exploiting.  They just still haven't caught up to their team MMR.  I don't think half of the people on this site know how MMR exploiting even works.

DK Feral X still going to be nasty as unholy.
Nope its shitty, we were playing it on tourny.  There isnt enough cc to do anything.  We had a better experience when i was playing frost and juking both melee.  DK's in their current state will need to run DK/Mage/Priest, or some other variant that can peel melee hard.  Even casters rip DK's right now just with a small cc chain on the healer.

We will probably just rip up to 2600 off of sheer burst potential on unsuspecting healers but after that wears off its going to be shitty until they fix our survivability.

#3255559 Weird thing I just noticed with the mmr-system

Posted Elliahna on 23 May 2011 - 07:38 PM

The factor of how many games have been played by the respective players since reset.  Im not sure if this is what you are referring to.  In situation A, player A has played less overall games since reset such as 100 compared to 200 of the partner.  This makes each win more valuable in going towards calculating your MMR.  Each win has a greater weight for you, rather than your partner.  This also means each loss has a greater weight, EXCEPT that MMR also tracks streaks.  Therefore if you win 20 in a row, a loss will have a lessened affect on your MMR because it assumes it is a fluke.  The loss having a lessened effect part is the only part of that im not positive on.

As far as situation 2, your teammates have played less overall games than you.  Which means they get more points per win than you.

As raystigz pointed out, on live there is also a retarded mechanic that they added in calculating if someone is carrying.  On one of my alts we switched from a paladin with established MMR to his shaman that was at 1500.  Our win loss stayed the same so his MMR went about 300 points higher than ours since it acted as if he was carrying us.

As far as what lowdeeps said, you need to take into account your druids history before that team.  Im assuming you and the mage were on a ~2500 team and the druid was on a ~2000 team.  The mmr system can detect the gap and it assumes he isnt good and that you carry.

#3249492 Double frostDK in 3's

the difference is the double mage team is 2500 with a 50% win ratio, and the double dk team is 2750 with a 75% win ratio(assuming they played it with the paladin?)
The mage teams was running that comp pre patch.  Their mmr is now around 2800.  We destroyed them first game then the next one they globalled our feral in a deep.

If there is ever double of the same class people whine that is op.  The thing is, that means all the burst comes at the exact same time but also, all the CC shares DR.  Those players being at that rating means they are obviously decent.  I assure you if they were running a comp like shadowcleave they would be doing just as well if not better seeing how shadowcleave is very good right now.

#3238446 LSD2 vs. frost TSG

The reason they zerg your healer is that the boomer and lock are annoying to kill.  The solution is this, you need to be squishier and play like a retard.  After you have tricked them into going on you POP CDS WTF STARFALL OH SHIT WIN.  Or you could just thorns your shaman and tranq+blooms.

Why are so many frost DKs in such denial?  All the frost DKs I know admit the damage is retarded and laugh about it all the time, but on AJ it's like you all think that if you constantly post how it's not OP then you won't get nerfed or something.  Frost DK damage is broken right now, if you can't admit that then you probably shouldn't bother posting.

Maybe because DK representation isn't extremely high.  Last season 80% of teams had warriors on them and they got less shit the entire season than we have gotten the first week.  Hell, even last season people were whining about how op DK's were when our representation was the lowest of most of the classes.

You can say frost dk damage is broken as much as you want.  But, until DK's have higher representation the fact still remains that other classes have better utility/control or else you would see any of those classes replaced with a dk.  You cant argue with that.  Also, as far as blizzard is concerned EVERYTHING IS FINE.  Posting on AJ constantly about how broken a class is doesnt fix anything.  All it does is weaken the community.

I swear some of you play a game where seeing 1 dk team out of 10 is all the time.  Not to mention losing to a dk team is 100% because of the DK and not anything to do with them setting up damage or just flat out playing you.

#3217924 The reason you are seeing DK's

Posted Elliahna on 02 May 2011 - 07:18 PM

I thought it was time to clear up some of the whining about DK's.  Yes, i agree frost dk's are the ftm.  Honestly it really annoys me that is the case since i have been a die hard frost fan since wrath.  The reason you are spam seeing DK's of all kinds can be attributed to one thing, warrior nerfs.  You can ask any high rated team what their strat was pre patch vs DK teams and you will hear, "Train the DK", 9/10 times.  It is a combination of losing a hard counter, such as warriors, and a buff to frost that has made DK's pop up "everywhere".  Realistically though, we have played 70~ games after patch starting from 2400 mmr and now currently at 2700 and we have only seen something like 5 deathknight teams.  2 being frost the other 3 being unholy.

Pre patch the only options for glad for dk were insane control comps ie shadowcleave/shadowplay.  TSG being one of the few exceptions.  There are a ton of ways to hard counter frost dk's.  A huge issue is that most people have a lack of experience against frost DK's.  As a result there are lots of teams that dont know how to deal with them yet.  This will happen again when ele shamans get buffed and no one knows what to do.

Healers here is a protip.  Necrotic lasts 10 seconds, this averages down to about 7~ seconds meaning that it gets refreshed on average every 3-4 seconds counting random roots and whatnot.  All CC's aside from clone, last 8.  If you force the DK to sit out a full CC your necrotics drop.  I would highly encourage you to get http://www.arenajunk...ike-tracker/  I have had good teams cc chain me and watched a 60k necrotic drop.

I would welcome a frost nerf.  IMO they could nerf frost strike back but leave howling blast and the double death runes in.  I would love it if the go to spec was unholy again

#3216399 Broken MMR is starting to show

Posted Elliahna on 02 May 2011 - 12:32 AM

Easy explanation.  Warrior has been played on several teams on which he has had great win loss ratio but never played the team out to its mmr.  Also, you do realize that the mmr has always been there.  They just chose to start showing it now.

It seems we cant do anything vs this comp, they can swap to anyone at will, and always get on our shaman and kill him. We save all our CD's for the swap the the shaman. but he just cant live through the damage. We have tried going dk with hex on warrior and imp hamstring, and opposite with fears on dk and roots during AMS. only thing we havent tried is going pally and i dont think its possible to out damage and frost dk and warrior. Is it possible to beat this team? we need major help here! THROW ME A FREAKIN BONE HERE!

no matter how much we pressure or peel the 2 melee, we cant stop the pain train!

Your switches are just as strong as theirs.  The only weakness being, they are all plate.

Goddam you Pittles.  Trolling me all the time on aj.  I tested it in tons of settings and couldn't get it to happen.  Some more details, i tried it after i killed the first person in 2's so i wouldn't get free wins.

I am loving arena now.  Warriors cant mash win anymore.  Everything seems more skillful.  I am extremely surprised blizzard actually balanced a lot of things out.  Did you face any shaman teams that dropped split totem?  We rolled a couple with hard switches right when totem dropped   ,  I think its funny that they dont know how to use it yet.
