Once again we are happy to annonce a new tournament called League of Arenas hosted by Bleached Bones and its partners.  This tournament is going to be unlike anything you have seen before! The prize pool for the first season which will last untill the end of the current arena season will be around 30 000 $!


We were thinking a lot about the rules, format and gear. How to make arenas balanced?
As always genious decision is the most simple. Let the players choose setups themselfs, like they do it in Leagues of Legends or DotA. They will be able to ban imbalanced specs, counterpick enemy team using intellect and not wine about the setups anymore. Dont wanna face BM hunters? Ban them. Restor shamans are OP against wizards? Ban them too. But keep in mind that enemy team will also break your supercomp and will make it weaker.

Basics:
Each team that is participating in Arena's League can consist of 3-5 members. They can play any classes and speccs. Before each game captains of both teams log in to special interface, where they can do picks and bans.  The interface was created by Prestige-Gaming programmers and the process of bans in picks will be executed via prestige-gaming.ru web page, thus the captain of each team should be registerd on prestige-gaming.

Bonuses from tournament format:

Teams can ban unbalanced specializations.
Mind-game between teams during the picks.
We will see great variety of different and sometimes exotic comps.
Players that can play different speccs or even classes would be very useful.
If any team played over 9000 in one fotm setup you can easily ban it and force them to play something different.


Registration:
For those who don't speak Russian it would be hard to register a team directly on the web page on their own thus the team captain should contact me (Svetozarov) via skype jam_ftw.  Be prepared to explain why you deserve to be in the tournament. The registration is extended untill June 26th.

I'm 13 by the way,

and I like that my pet plays for me.  Sometimes I lose track of my target, pesky LOS, with BM I can just hit my kill command + blink strike macro and win.  Especially sometimes my mom calls me down for dinner and I have to leave mid arena, this way I can call stampede and still sometimes win.

Dominozx, i enjoy watching your streams, i like your playstyle too, totally different than Nauree. Btw i dont agree with you.

1) It was not easy for a WW to get glad last season, u needed good teammates and the right comp to get it. When u say It was  easy to get glad u mean other op classes such us warriors, mages and shadow (for dps classes).

2) Imho playing with a shadow priest and resto shaman is much much much better than playing a cleave with hunter and hpala. Why? because ladder was full of KFC teams. With a shadow priest u can survive much better. Also if i remember well u xferred to a low lvl BG  for r1 and u didnt got it for yourself, u just joined a KFC r1 team and stay in range for r1.

3) I´m a big fun of WW streams, i followed you  and Nauree many times. You both played many comps and Nauree´s playstyle changes with the comp he was playing. Have you seen Nauree playing with hpal and mage? I´ve seen him playing that comp with a 2,4k - 2,5k mmr if i remember well. Also nobody knows nauree´s teammates but many ppl know yours....

With all this i´m not saying Nauree is better than you, just saying ppl is not being fair with Nauree when they compare u both. I´m pretty sure Nauree would be good enough to get r1 in the way u got it, same BG and same teammates.

Just remove the class, as you can see its insanely OP just looking at the ladder..

funny how all mages and locks complains now, if anything they could tune down CD stacking a bit and put a 10sec cd on cyclone, but then for the love of good remove that fking instant fear/stun locks can do every 10 sec with 100 dots 20 pets and half team hitting you and still it aint breaking plus you end up being on another continent once you're free

What does everyone think of Feral druids right now? Underrated? Overrated?

Here's my take:
-Insanely powerful cooldowns
-Very high consistent damage
-Absurd CC (all instant)
-Ranged pummel with a mana-loss attachment
-Able to remove snares
-Run much faster than their prey
-Take some of the best abilities of their partners (bubble, disperse, shattering blow)

Considering the above, I think we're going to see a lot more ferals in this patch. With healing nerfed by another 15%, OOMing against a feral is an inevitability as opposed to a probability.

Okay, so agree or disagree but these are the things I think should change:

1. Players are TOO powerful. This should be a world that you play in and have no control over not the other way around. Why does this matter? Well in BC, when it was still hard to level (as you could die) damage wasn't that bad. Once they changed that with wotlk and players got more powerful we saw burst go WAY up. This continued with Cataclysm and then with MoP. Not only does it make the game feel like less of a world, but it also directly impacts arena cause they can't balance it.

2. Classes all have the same abilities:
-Self-Healing
-Stuns/Silence/Fear
-Pets
Every class feels the same because you're just spamming buttons like a PvE rotation. Also, Self-Healing should NOT be there for every class at the level it is.

3. There are TOO many abilities. This is the reason you keep spamming buttons that used to be much simpler and took more effort to time. For example, in BC with rogues pooling energy for kidney shot/burst. Or a paladin had a HoJ which they could use: for more damage, to stun to heal themselves, to prevent them from reaching your ally, and much more. Each class had unique abilities and MANA actually mattered, which made it much more interesting. On top of that, the abilities don't feel as fun. If you were to get off many spells then it would really hurt, but that meant you had lined up good CC or the other team sucked.

4. Everything is an instant ability or close to quick cast. It kind of ruins the point of a "caster." More importantly no one ever asked fore more instant abilities or CC, in fact the opposite yet we keep getting MORE AND MORE!!!

5. This leads to there being way too much CC because every class is the same. Burning Crusade was based on comps, but mainly mistakes would lead your teams too lose. Once WOTLK came around we saw so many zerg comps where mistakes wouldn't impact you as badly and it was even more based on comp (beastcleave, tsg, wizard cleave.)

6. Base 40% reduction. This makes it so people starting out in BGs can do no dmg and also get raped. In terms of arena, it really hasn't balanced anything and the FOTM still stands stronger then ever. The goal maybe to make it so high end arena is fair, but all it's really done is unbalance pvp in battlegrounds; and still high end is unbalanced. So I'm not saying remove it, but it's not doing it's job at all. On a site note, doing dailies or world pvp, swapping between gear is almost night to day which defeats the purpose of having the "forced into world" interaction.

7. This goes with PvE and PvP, Blizzard made the game they way they wanted to and it was time consuming and challenging. Every expansion everything gets easier and then when they try to make it "artificially" hard, it fails. They can still make it challenging without being time consuming but they need to not give everyone everything.

Remember when you had to get gold for your mounts? Epics weren't everything? You could actually die in the world?
The world used to be mysterious and dangerous; while some of that can't be returned, too much of it got taken away and that's what made it boring.

The problem is that classes apart from mages and warriors do absoulutely no damage outside of cooldowns.

Also even an idiot can think "oh we are buffing pvp power on weapons, maybe we should increase the resillience of every pvp item slightly to make up for it" but these people are no ordinary idiots.

The arena scene has changed, in that each match basically consists of a race between opposing teams to one shot one another. There's evidently very little importance of control (I mean setting up a string of CC, rather than just throwing instant CC while bursting), positioning, etc. in the current state of the game... it's pathetic. Shit like 180k+ Frost Bombs, 180k+ Chaos Waves, or 180k+ Heroic Strikes should not be in the game. Lower the damage from such abilities, and we'll see one of WoW's best seasons (surely, however, this won't happen).
