I was expecting it'd look like the plane that hit WTC now when Osama's "dead"

#3221808 So, I played my Paladin for the first time since 4.0.6

I just want to mention a couple of things that I feel are wrong with the OP that noone seemed to point out.

I haven't played my paladin since 4.1 but prior to that I could tank a warrior 10000X easier on my priest. Even with a change to col smash I don't see that changing much.

As for tanking dks, I def agree but thats only if you juke well. As I paladin you really can't afford to get interupted if you do it usually ends in death since you don't have any pre-emptive healing.

I personally don't use pursuit of justice except for 2s and thats the talent that enables you to get holy power while CC'd. You don't however gain 3 holy power when put into a CC you gain 1. Ontop of that a 3xWoG +holy shock will not be even close to enough healing to recover coming out of a CC, even if you crit both the healing should be around 36k then you'll have to fake an interupt. This is where paladins really suffer because unlike the other classes we can't fake>throw up an instant heal, fake>throw up an instant heal which means we are getting even further behind on healing trying to juke with out being able to get any hots on our target. So in reality that 20-35k healing might be done in two globals but it may be the only healing we get out for 12+secs, which really doesn't seem that impressive. Also using only shock and WoG while standing by a pillar will never be enough to keep someone up in this games enviroment. Every healer still has better effective healing while standing by a pillar using instants (assuming facing non melee cleaves).

Paladins are very squishy aswell. I'm not sure what you are talking about thier either. The only healer I've played that feels squishier is a druid and thats vs a melee cleave when they switch to him without hots and a DK is on the other team.

As for going oom, it actually happens alot in 3s, but pmuch never in 2s. So again I get the feeling that the games you played on your paladin were in 2v2 and not 3v3. We have an amazing ability to keep mana up/regain it when damage is low but when damage is high we go oom just as quickly if not quicker then some of the other healers.

Your overall outlook on paladin seems to be correct tho, that being they are not far behind druids and still a while until they catch up to priest and miles behind shamans; but both druids and paladins are asking for buffs and I have yet to meet a decent player that thinks paladins don't need buffs and aren't in a bad spot atm compareable to priest and shamans.

mastery should be a HoT.
And our current mastery should work on the same level as a disc priest divine aegis (but effect all heals) and be a base spell in the holy tree.

I still remeber my priest getting a larger absorb from a renew crit then I get with a divine light.

It's about as good, if you ask me. I've never played either variation, but I can see druid working pretty well too. Just not as well as in WotLK because you just can't outlast as TSG nowadays, I don't think, ever.

Just do it with a shaman and go up 200 rating, did you see those shitheads that are like r7? Fearflamez is quite possibly the worst DK I have ever played against in my LIFE, and that includes Cart.

jk i love u cart really
Paladin is the best healer for TSG. You will be tunneling the enemy healer for 95% of the games (right from the start ofc) so either you win in 1min or you lose. No healer comes even close to paladin spamming those 0.5 divine lights with CDs up right from the start with freedom+hos to prevent warr/dk to go defensive. Trying to play it "pro" with switching and shit only gonna make your situation worse, tunneling healer works always as TSG.

I don't think so. For example, my team has a variety of teams on the charter just so we can queue more often since three people will more likely be on. I think most high-rated teams are like that.

I mean, at our skill level and rating, we can queue into pretty much anything, anyway. In fact, the other night we queued into a 2700 KFC, which even had a rank 1 player, as Unholyplay for like 80 rating, even though that comp is supposed to counter us.

Honestly, the only reason to snipe or queue dodge at 2800+ rating is to just avoid staying in boring 10 minute queues.

So it's just a coincidence when you join our stream and then 5 minutes later you que into us as unholyplay (our hardest counter)?

Or is it a coincidence when we play your shattertree variant once, and then you immediately swap to your unholyplay and que into us again inside 1 minute's time?

I don't mean to give AJ readers more credit than they deserve, but I think they can figure this out.  Stop trolling Lopez!

#3159664 Hpal fixes compilation

Posted irc on 01 April 2011 - 03:16 AM

it's undeniable that holy paladins clearly need fixed. problems from my perspective (warlock) are:

- paladins offer virtually no utility
- paladins are especially vulnerable to cc, more than any other class in the game
- paladins and the people they are healing are really vulnerable to offensive-dispel

honestly i feel bad for holy atm, and, more than likely if the 4.1 notes don't change, paladins will fail to have even one viable tree for pvp. unfortunately i haven't read any of the other responses to this thread so i apologize if i'm echoing anyone else here.

- make rebuke a ranged interrupt, with a lockout (kick, mindfreeze etc)
- add some sort of offensive-dispel-resistance to blessing of protection
- consider giving paladins very slightly stronger heals, depending on how warrior damage ends-up on 4.1 and if shamans get yet another buff to healing

#3184512 any idea why this is happening?
