#3856235 Zionsfall - Cheater or best KFC EU?

Posted Hazzah on 04 March 2013 - 10:04 AM

It seems to me like you've decided in your own head that your accusation is correct, much like a religious person goes about his beliefs - you got the exact same amount of proof. The PR is easily explainable - heck, someone in this thread already explained it to you, but you're far too determined to convince everyone that he's wintrading to even bother reading the posts explaining all of this. After a draw, you lose 12 rating, sometimes only team rating is lost and not the personal rating.

Both of the warriors from each R1 team have a VOD from their climb, and STILL you're on here bashing them? I'm sure you haven't even bothered to check the VODs.

Who are you to talk about skill and wintrading when you're sitting on a negative w/l as WLS? Especially when someone in this thread points out that you were boosted, and you didn't even address it which makes it all the more obvious that you were.

It must be tough to be so unburdened with intelligence to just keep on accusing with any sort of proof, especially when there are VODs clearly disproving your claims.

Get lost.

I was asked by Conviq to forward this to the video-forums as it'd get more attention here rather than the waiting room. He doesn't have the privileges to post in junkies.

Apparently there were copyright-issues on youtube, so for now this link should suffice.

Don't shoot the messenger.

I don't think you're characterizing the situation fairly when you say they 'neglect us completely'.  They do lots of things for us.  Yes, sometimes things that are very broken stay in for a long time.  No, I am not happy about that.  I agree they should have a PvP specialty team.  Criticize them for that and you'll have my support, don't call them idiots.

Obviously it was an overstatement, but it's retarded how it takes an entire season - sometimes even more - for them to realize what's not working in PvP. Take this upgrade-idea, for instance. VERY few PvP'ers support this idea and very few should simply because of the insane gap it creates between newly dinged players and people that have been here since day 1 of the season. It also demotivates people from levelling alts, as there's no use in having to wait 3-4 weeks for your weapon, and then another 3 months for full gear to be on par with everyone else. That was obviously not a well-thought out concept, and it goes to show how little they care about PvP at all.

I think they do implement some of the better ideas provided by the PvP community.  Albeit at a slow pace, because we are a small part of the game (obviously I wish they were faster).  Some ideas they may not implement because they simply disagree that they are good ideas.  Their reasoning for not wanting to separate PvP from PvE for example, is that they don't want to add the additional complexity for players to sort through (and additional complexity in development?  Not sure on that).  While I disagree with their conclusion, I can certainly respect that logic.

The slow pace is the exact problem of it all. Fixing something seasons after the problem occured isn't really helpful, and they've probably lost hundreds of thousands of subscribers just because they're so incredibly slow at listening to the PvP'ers outcries of what needs fixing and what doesn't.

Additional complexity doesn't hurt anyone - au contraire - it'd make the game more diverse and fun. This isn't their logic either, it's yours. You are assuming and guessing that this is how blizzard thinks, and honestly you're overcomplicating things.

That being said, I do understand everything isn't as easy to sort out as it's made out to be by players, but it sure as hell isn't as hard as blizzard makes it out to be either.

1. We are a small segment of the game.  Say that PvE/Raids/etc is roughly 20 times larger than arena.  What do you think that means for Blizzard when they are prioritizing fixes or new features?  Does a PvP issue of equal importance deserve to be fixed as fast as a PvE issue?  I think that Blizzard made some mistakes with the way they handled WoW as an esport/competitive game.  And god do I wish they would fix bugs quicker sometimes.  But the fact that I disagree with some of the decisions they made doesn't make them idiots or incompetent.

2. Developing games (or anything, really) of WoW's size is a fucking hard job.  I suspect you've never designed or created any large program in your life.  It's not easy--there are thousands (millions) of players complaining that they want this feature or that feature, that they need this thing fixed, or that this other thing should be entirely redesigned.  Your PvP feedback is part of a sea of (often bad) feedback that they have to wade through.  It's easy to sit there and say you could do a better job, but talk is cheap.  Maybe you would do a better job at balancing PvP, but possibly without considering the effects on one of the many other aspects of WoW.  There's absolutely room for Blizzard to improve in how they collect PvP feedback, (like, for example, if Blizzard had a team of high level PvPers which they could ask for feedback about changes) but only by suggesting/implementing actual changes will that happen--not by calling them names.

Even if the PvP'ers are outnumbered by the PvE'ers or whatever else people are doing in this game, does it mean they have to neglect us completely like they have been doing the past 12 seasons? Every season there's at least one major issue that they don't even touch upon, and despite thousands of threads on it, there are no blue posts telling us that they're even working on it. If they have so few employees to work on balancing that they need to favor one over the other, they should hire a team with a PvP specialty that can sort it out for them - without affecting PvE balance in the process.

Sure, designing a game isn't easy, and I don't know the first shit about it, but the developers are allegedly some of the best ones in the world, so they should be able to implement some of the better ideas provided by the PvP community. Seperating PvE and PvP is NOT a difficult task. They made a total season earned-requirement on the PvP weapons because of PvE advantage? Well fuck, what about making PvP power reduce your damage output in PvE? SURELY this isn't the hardest thing for these guys to implement. I could give you a thousand different examples of how they can seperate PvP and PvE balance, but I'm pretty sure you can work out a few examples on your own.

#3828186 The honor system is in need of a remake

Posted Hazzah on 28 December 2012 - 04:33 AM

I'll post the same thing I posted on the EU battlegrounds-forums a moment ago, and I'm pretty sure most of you can relate. (http://eu.battle.net...ic/6201041926#1)

Farming honor can be fun the first time around, sure. You hit level 90, enter a BG and get one-shot by everyone and there's close to no chance for you to actually participate in anything that remotely resembles PvP apart from dying, at least not until you have suffered your way through this for a few days.

Now, you've FINALLY gathered your last piece of honor gear, and you're ready to rock the arena for some filthy high rating because you are confident in the fact that you have a higher in-game IQ than most people. With this thought still in your head, you find an arena partner and queue up for 2v2. The game commences and you rush in to do some serious damage, except you don't really hurt him at all while he's running over you like a train. Why? Because he hit level 90 before you, so he has had time to wait the 4 weeks for the malevolent weapon.

You realize getting your 2,2k isn't going to be possible until you've waited for your 7250 season-earned conquest points. So while you wait for these 4 weeks to pass, you level up a new character, but when you hit 90, you find yourself being punished by Blizzard for levelling it, because now you're completely useless in PvP again, and you'll have to wait another 4 weeks in order to be able to kill stuff.

If my point doesn't come across clearly, I'll help you out a little here. Having to spend literally days of your life trying to attain gear is completely ridiculous and especially when you're a multiclasser like me. Instead of rewarding us for spending more time in this game, they choose to punish us and make us utterly useless for weeks. PvE is favored in this regard as you can, with some luck/help, be full epic literally the same week as you hit 90.

Winning a BG in this expansion does not rely on how well your team is doing; it's all about who has the less amount of bots in their team. This is a serious issue, but there is an obvious reason for why there are so many bots. People simply don't want to waste their time farming gear that they should have had from the get-go. I'd very much like a Guild Wars 2-solution where as soon as you enter a PvP area of some sort, you'd be fully geared. You are even implementing this for lower levels, so why not on 90?

I know you feel compelled to tell me I'm a noob that has to learn to play, but you can check my achievements, I'm not new to this game, I'm just sick of PvE being favored so much in every regard. If you watch a stream of any multigladiator/rank 1 that does PvP in low gear, you'll find that they are stuck on low ratings and they die to noobs all the time. I can't recall which multi rank 1 player that was recently on a negative w/l on 1600 mmr simply due to the fact that he doesn't have full PvP gear.

You introduced PvP power for the sole reason of making PvP less gear-dependent by removing PvE from the PvP arena, but instead you made it more gear-dependent than it has ever been.

Fix it so I don't have to die to backpedallers anymore.

#3827681 Arena raiting change

Although this sounds logical I still have doubts. For example, sometimes I run on same opponents for 3-4 matches in a row. We both make 2 wins each and still they receive that magical 96 points. Shouldn't they receive less since they lost previous match to me?

Because they have low team rating. The rating change you see in the endscreen of an arenagame is the team rating. If they had 1600 mmr, but 1300 rating, they'd gain somewhere around 50 rating (wild guess), but if they were on 0 rating with 1600 mmr, they'd gain 96.
The closer your team rating gets to your mmr, the less you gain. If your team rating is higher than the mmr, you'll lose more than you gain. Say you're 1500 rated on 1300 mmr, you'll gain like 6 for a win, but you'll lose more like 20.

Basically the mmr tries to get your team rating as close to the mmr as possible, if that helps at all.

Calm down, I just stated my own opinion here. As it is, it's really annoying, but if it shared DR with stuff, I wouldn't care. Less time in poly, ring and whatever else it shares DR with is good enough for me.

#3827386 [Druid] Resto 2v2 Help

Posted Hazzah on 25 December 2012 - 10:37 PM

I'd say restos are one of the best, if not the best 2v2 healer simply due to their mobility and the fact that they have the strongest healing cd in the game.

It sounds like your mana control isn't what it should be, and additionally, seeing as you're dying, I'm guessing you don't kite enough?

I'd advise you to get interruptbar or any sort of addon that shows when your enemies use an interrupt so that you can fake-cast (meaning you start casting a cast then interrupt it yourself so they might use their interrupt). You should also get the barkskin-glyph for 2s, because otherwise you can get shat on by a double dps really quickly.

Other than that, try to do some BGs/duels with the sole purpose of surviving as long as you can. Kite with roots, cyclones and displacer's beast (you SHOULD have this talent for 2s). You shouldn't really lose to anyone in a duel unless they're good.

It gets easier once you get a hold of your t1-weapon, btw.

#3827382 [Death Knight] Noob questions

Posted Hazzah on 25 December 2012 - 10:31 PM

I'll just answer your questions numerically:

1) Frost, because of better rune generaton, 15% less duration on CCs and it reduces the frost strike cost by 15 runic power.

2) I find this to be a question of preference; personally I run mastery because I like to see them big numbers on my screen.

3) If you're in full PvE-gear, then the puzzle is already solved. With full PvP gear @ 85, I'm guessing he's somewhere around 65% resilience, and adding to that he also has some PvP power.
