Saw this...Had to make it known. NAO should watch out for this kid. Uses this cheat, or something similar. hes been reported many times in the past few days by people on Retaliation.

If you have to use a mod like that to get glad on retal you should hang yourself and save evolution the work of weeding you out.

#3547753 Education System Sexist Against Boys?

Posted by Nobendo on 13 November 2011 - 01:44 AM

Societies have been male dominated for thousands of years, it won't change. Ever. Men are physically stronger than women, all major religions were constructed to assert male dominance, original legislative actions strongly favor males, the economic system is and always will be dominated by men, as I demonstrated our language itself is constructed in favor of men, our socialization processes teach the majority of women to be subordinate, there's less men than women in most 1st world countries (afaik), in some 3rd world country (India) I think there is a shortage of women because female babies are undesirable, and most relationships considering economic class is accounted for women usually take the subordinate role. If you've ever been the only male in an all female class or work place you'd probably see this.

If you really think females have a chance of pulling ahead after thousands of years of men constructing society so that males stay ahead you're just delusional/retarded. Poor people and women will never have the majority control of anything, ever.

Stop talking your just blabbering about shit you don't know about, there are tons of society's dominated by women where they worship the gift of life and fertility. Just because something isn't a western idea doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

#3547124 Education System Sexist Against Boys?

Posted by Nobendo on 12 November 2011 - 08:14 AM

wat? you make no sense. You're crying that women are gaining more leverage, then you tell me I only want equality when it favors men.

I'm in the process of becoming a teacher at a university in NC and we've talked about this a bunch, all forms of education are slowly being dominated by women over men with something like upper 60ish% of students in good colleges being female. Capers is pretty much right and your actually being really stereotypical by overreacting to something like this honestly, he's saying that he wants equality and if the system is going towards women supremacy that obviously isn't very equal. No where did he say he wanted a man dominant or even favored society / education system, and as for your argument about how it's a mans world yeah not really, men are slightly favored now in the corporate world because they are more competitive and tend to have more drive to try and get a promotion, while women don't as much (obviously that's a generalization but that's exactly what forms statistics: generalizations). A lot of schools are already in the process of reform though, and are starting to take more male favored approaches to teaching like hands on activities and competitive environments to encourage better concentration on learning.

Sorry if this was bad but written at 3:15am after an all day Skyrim spree ;)

I live in Europe and I've never even heard of Garxz, shows how much of a respectable presence he has rofl.
To be fair since you're on US servers you can never be sure what's really going on over here (and the same can be said vice versa ofc), just don't base everything on WarcraftMovies, there's few players who really set new heights on there now anyways.
I dunno if the guy's qualified for Blizzcon, could be nice if he has though since I've had the pleasure of playing against his old jungle cleave, the boy doesn't fuck around B) .

There's no doubt that ele is way more fun than any other caster right now, at least imo and what everyone else says who has been playing since 4.2, so you will see them. I think in mage / ele / disc and LSD1.0 they will do fine though. You will definitely be seeing some in R1 spots, and if their mana efficiency and healing from healing spells / mana cost for healing spells gets fixed I can see them working well. Right now I would say they are about as viable as shadow priests, except with more freedom of comp since they have much better dispel protection, but we will have to wait until S10 to see. With the nerfing of frost DKs and warriors + the new ele buffs I think things may work out well for them, and they can do way better damage while being trained now too.

#3314507 The basic disc priest

Posted by Nobendo on 20 June 2011 - 02:02 AM

Let me start by intreducing myself. Im johan a 16 year old student from sweden i been playing disc priest for about 3 years know and want to share to the people that are even worse than me xD. I will take up the basic
(Spec, glyphs, setups, gems, enchants, what type of stats, what kind of race and why. (This is only a recommendations by me)

Lets begin.

This is the spec i´m currently using. 31 10 0

The spec i´m using is different some ways from other specs and i will now tell you why i prefer my way (My opinion). insted of maxing my Inner Sanctum i prefer saving those 2 points and use in Surge of Light simple because i love when the instant flash heals accualy pops have saved me many times and woulden´t change it for the world.

Also most priest pick Atonement, i agree that its not a bad talent but i prefer using my 2 points in Empowered Healing which i realy think there is no special reason to skip out on.

Glyph of Penance.
Glyph of Power word barrier
Glyph of Power Word: Sheild (Can also choose Renew or SW:D insteed)

Glyph of Mass Dispel
Glyph of Prayer of Mending
Glyph of Desperation

Glyph of Shadowfiend
Glyph of leviate
Glyph of Shackle Undead

I will talk about the best 2v2 and 3v3 team setups in my opinion (like the rest of the guide)

RMP-PMR-RPM (Rogue, Priest, Mage)
Kitty Cleave (Disc, Feral, Warr)
Melee Cleave (Disc, Dk, Warr.

3.Spirit - You need the mana regen. Try to make sure that all of your items have Spirit.
4.Mastery - This mastery is so useful that it has to be at the top of the secondary stats. It's a massive increase to your survivability.
5.Crit/Haste aren't bad, at all, but Mastery is better.

Red- Willful Ember Topaz - 20 Res, 20 Int
Blue- Steady Dream Emerald - 20 Res, 30 Stam
Yellow- Mystic Amberjewel - 40 Resilience or Willful Ember Topaz - 20 Res, 20 Int
Meta- Ember Shadowspirit Diamond - 54 int, 2% max mana

Head - Arcanum of Vicious Intellect - 60 int & 35 resi (1000honor or 40 Tol Barad Commendation
Shoulders - Greater Inscription of Vicious Intellect - 50 int & 25 resi (2000 honor or 80 Tol Barad Commendation
Legs - Powerful Enchanted Spellthread - 95 Int & 80 Stam
Boots - Enchant Boots - Earthen Vitality - 30 Stam & Slight run speed increase
Weapon - Enchant Weapon - Power Torrent - Sometimes gain 500 Int for 12 seconds
Belt - Ebonsteel Belt Buckle - Extra socket
Chest - Enchant Chest - Mighty Resilience - 40 Resi
Wrist - Enchant Bracer - Mighty Intellect - 50 Int
Back - Enchant Cloak - Greater Spell Piercing - 70 Spell penetration
Gloves - Enchant Gloves - Greater Mastery - 65 Mastery
Off Hand - Enchant Off-Hand - Superior Intellect - 40 int

Blood Elf

Arcane Torrent restores some Mana and interrupts casting. Unfortunately, it's point blank and won't interrupt those melee types who will be in your face (in PvP)

Rocket Jump is a nice escape or gap closer.
1% Haste is very nice

War Stomp might have some use when mobs/melee get too close.
Increased health by 5%

Berkerk is a nice spell casting speed increase.
Damage increase Vs beasts is very nice when leveling and has some PvE use when fighting beast trash.
Reduced duration of movement impairing effects has more PvP use than otherwise.

Removing fear, charm, etc is a nice PvP ability and has some PvE use.

+1 to Hit helps with end-game gearing.

Stoneform removes bleeds and reduces damage by 10%

Increased Spirit helps with mana regen.
Bonus to rep gains helps with faction grinding
PvP trinket ability allows use of two DPS/Healing trinkets in PvP and can break some PvE mechanics.

Can escape from speed altering effects, which has PvP use and situational PvE use.
Increased mana pool helps, a bit.

Night Elf

Shadowmeld has its uses in PvP.
Being 2% harder to hit has more PvP use than PvE.

1% crit bonus is nice.
Sprint-like ability has its uses.

(In my opinion i would go for)
Undead - Horde.
Human - Alliance.

TIPS. Adding every now and then

Shadow Word: Death on mages polly is probertly the most usefull tip i can offer u. Basicly it works like this. Like you know mages polly breaks on any damage you probertly also know Shadow Word: Death deals dmg to you. So when you see a mage casting polly you wait as long as possible then press Shadow Word: Death and your dmg will break the usally 8sec polly and hes next will be on a long and good dr. (linking macro)

#showtooltip Shadow Word: Death
/cancelaura Power Word: Shield
/cancelaura Illuminated Healing
/cast [@target,harm] Shadow Word: Death;
/stopmacro [harm]
/cast Shadow Word: Death

this macro will remove your Power Word: shield so you dont absord the dmg incoming.

This was everything for me folks hope you enjoyd, and learned someting. Thats all from me

/Make sure to add stuff to the "guide" by posting in the comments below

Just wanted to mess with this a bit, but first of all congrats on taking the time to make a guide for people new to the class ^.^ its always nice for the site to have good starter information, especially in the waiting room where people can post questions about it directly in the thread.

First of all, a lot of the stuff in here is personal preference and I've always thought guides should say everything you can (viably) do then outline some recommendations, so I'll just add in some stuff that people could do based on personal preference / play style / comp etc.

1. For spec I would say http://www.wowhead.c...t#bfhzrosbforoc is pretty much a must have starter, there are of course a lot of things you can mess with like I know some people don't take soul warding or twin disciplines to get the smite spec with Archangel and / or atonement, or to just max out inner sanctum without needing to put more than 31 points in the disc tree, but all of that depends on the person and if often out of the scope of beginner play when your first trying to get used to the basics :)

The basic choices after that are:

>Either improved renew or divine fury to get to the second tier in the holy tree. Getting to the second tier in holy is really important, as Desperate Prayer is pretty much required atm. This depends on how you like to play, but the majority of the time I would just recommend taking the renew spec and focusing on using flash heal as your main casted heal (besides penance ofc). If you use greater heal you take divine fury, but honestly I would wait until you have a good hold on the basics before you try to start incorporating a heal that long.
>Once you get to the second tier you need Desperate prayer, but after that it comes down to: Surge of Light, Inspiration, Veiled Shadows, Darkness, or Divine fury / improved renew (based on what you didn't take before). Just as a rundown:
SoL is really RNG'ish, I've messed around with it a lot and it has definitely saved some games for me but there has also been times where I didn't get a proc for 6 games in a row then finally I got one when it was totally unneeded. Not reliable, but when you get a proc from it when you need it it's easily game changing. It also seems to greatly increase the chance that you'll get more procs right after, as around 80% of the time I get a proc I get another proc right after. I've never seen anyone else talk about this or prove it at all though, I can't really figure out why. Since this isn't S8 and the majority of teams I play have at least one melee I find Inspiration really useful especially when considering the alternatives, almost everyone I see takes either one or two points but I honestly haven't been able to justify not taking passive damage reduction on your heal target even while in CC. It seems to be up pretty much 90% of the time especially since it procs off penance, but I could be wrong. I would recommend at least one point in it, probably two. Veiled Shadows is really game breaking at high ratings or if you play a comp that tends to have long games (like double healer). Since literally like 3% of my games last long enough to use it I have never taken it, although if a significant amount of your games allow a second (and maybe even third) shadowfiend with it I would really recommend it. Darkness I never liked since you get such a small gain for the points spent, plus haste isn't unbelievable for disc right now, but this is also personal preference. I already made an argument about renew and divine fury points above, if you wanna use your filler on those go ahead :P
>Finally, I have seen a lot of people lately taking Inner Sanctum with filler, or using it 3/3 instead of just 1 and not taking soul warding. I have tried both and honestly don't like inner sanctum that much. I sit in inner fire most of the time since I like the SP and armor most of the time and I don't really get close to oom, and since you should have the boot chant the inner will speed boost isn't that necessary. I usually just use inner will against things like RLS or other lock teams where the game could go on for a while and be mana draining, plus most of my casts will be instants. This talent is good but not amazing, it really depends on what your playing against. Against a melee cleave I almost always stay in inner fire for slightly more armor and the SP boost to try and stay alive since I never go oom and the speed boost doesn't stack past movement impairing effects (if I remember right). So the reduced magic damage is usually pretty unneeded, especially since most caster teams won't go for a disc priest. It really comes down to whether you can sit in Inner Will really, although the speed boost is nice for fears. I really like Soul Warding, I did 20 or so games without it and ending up missing it, against lock teams its great since you can bubble multiple people on your team right away since there's a lot of spread damage, and things like TSG can cleave etc. All around useful to have, but not needed.

In conclusion: I would recommend either http://www.wowhead.c...bfhcrosbforofzM or if you want a better chance for a more RNG heal http://www.wowhead.c...bfhzrosbforofzr for people just starting out. Veiled Shadows if you have longer games, but a lot of the points here depend on how you want to do things and what comp you play / what you most often play against on your specific rating and BG.

For glyphs in order of what I would recommend the most:

Glyph of Penance - Pretty much required. Penance is one of your most used spells.

Glyph of Power Word: Shield - A decent heal on a spell you use basically whenever you can.

Glyph of Power Word: Barrier - I almost only use PW:B either when I'm getting trained by melee when I can pop this right before desperate prayer or when I can get some peels and can sit in it to make sure I get healed up, and it also helps if your stuck in something like kidney / throwdown and can have this down while in it to reduce the damage you take. I use it in some imp hamstrings etc too. However, what I like it the most for is smokebombs and when I use it for this the increased heal is pretty wasted. (A lot of the time if you can predict a smokebomb or drop it right after their rogue puts a smokebomb down you'll reduce a lot of the damage your team member takes, it's really gamebreaking. This glyph only helps if you have a self heal class of course, like sometimes my DK pops Lichbourne and heals as he's waddling out smokebomb to keep himself up and that will put up the heals some. You can also lifegrip them right as they come out then have them duck behind LoS if they were in a bad spot and it really destroy the other teams momentum.)

Glyph of Shadow Word: Death or Glyph of Renew SW:D helps gets kills but honestly I don't think I have ever gotten a second SW:D if they got low, with all the executes and stuff around. Maybe that's just me being a bad priest :P Renew is an increase to a heal usually on your heal target, but since the renew heal isn't amazing this glyph probably won't save as many games. It is more reliable than the others though, as it will be used basically every game.

Glyph of Flash Heal is really just a waste honestly.

Glyph of Mass Dispel - Basically required, Mass Dispel is amazing against mage and pally teams and getting bubble / iceblock off as soon as you can and especially not getting interrupted when you need to do it is really important.

Glyph of Desperation - All around useful, especially against melee trains like TSG. Highly recommended.

Glyph of Prayer of Mending - POM is used every game really, this adds up to nice extra healing especially when all you can get off right then is instants.

Glyph of Dispel Magic - Really nice against some teams, totally useless against others. It just depends. I love this when playing things like RMP, but then sometimes you'll play melee trains and RLS all night and it won't really be useful. More situational, depends on what your playing but not as reliable as say POM.

Glyph of Fear Ward - Excellent for avoiding more fears, pretty self explanatory.

Glyph of Psychic Scream - This glyph is really used to keep people planted in one spot, I know a lot of the time I have gotten annoyed when I feared a healer and then they ran out of range or LoS of a next CC we could have thrown on them. The increased cd is pretty detrimental though. Personal preference, I know a buddy of mine who plays RMP swears by it.

Glyph of Fortitude
Glyph of Shackle Undead
Glyph of Shadowfiend

are the only ones that will ever actually have a use in arena, although I swapped Shadowfiend for Levitate since I like running on water and my Sfiend has literally never died in an arena before.

Setups: There are a million viable and good setups, I would mostly just recommend something classic like RMP that will probably always be good and other than that post on AJ if you have a question about something specific, but there are tons of things that can go well. Keep in mind that locks and priests generally don't go great together since they DR our main CC and we are often paired with rogues or mages.

Intellect > Resilience >= Spirit > mastery > haste > crit

This of course depends on comp and all of that again, but this is in general what most people do. If you run something like a really rundown comp such as rogue / dk / priest you might want spirit lower down, but all of this can change.

Gemming, the first listed is what I recommend and most people do second is another option:

Red - +40 int or +20 int +20 resil, depending on situation.
Yellow - +20 int +20 resil or +40 resil, depending on situation.
Blue - +20 int +20 spirit or +20 int +30 stam, depending on situation.
Meta - Ember Shadowspirit Diamond: 54 int, 2% max mana. You can also use the one with +54 int and -10% silence duration. Some people use the spell reflect one but it's too sketchy for me to use all the time, especially since the ones above are pretty nice.

Alliance - Honestly all can work, human is good if you have access to nice PvE trinkets. Dwarf stoneform is excellent against melee cleaves for the overall damage reduction and removing of bleeds, and if ferals become a popular FOTM I can see dwarf priests making a comeback. Night elf is amazing to shadowmeld Hungering Colds and other CC plus dropping focus targets, but stuff like that might be beyond the scope of this mini-guide. Gnome gets out of roots, looks like a qt, and has more mana. Worgen has speed boost, best for landing good fears. I don't really see people going Dreani, but it's definitely doable for the extra hit and the free heal.

Horde - Again all can be good really, I would go with goblin though. Goblin is all around excellent, the jump is amazing for landing fears, getting out of LoS, or escaping a melee train. The fear break with Undead is really nice, but a lot of games you might not use it and you have to keep in mind that when you use it you also put a 30 second cd or something on your normal trinket. Tauren has the nice stun, which can be game breaking especially if you need to land a heal when you have melee on you. Troll is alright but I wouldn't really recommend it considering the alternatives.

Your SW:D macro is kinda weird and has no cancelaura for divine aegis, I go with a focus one that looks like

#showtooltip shadow word: death
/cancelaura power word: shield
/cancelaura divine aegis
/cancelaura illuminated healing
/cast [@focus] shadow word: death

and a normal SW:D which I use as the execute. I also have another SW:D which is the same as above but with something to target the nearest enemy player (since it doesn't work against things like totems I don't think) and then casts the SW:D but 95% of the time I just have the mage as my focus and use that to death especially since I have a nice big focus casting bar so I can see the poly going off, and I use the other macro for clutch deathing scatters / blinds / etc. I can't see the code for that since I'm not on my normal computer but I know its somewhere on priest forums.

Wow this got a lot longer than I intended, but I'll add some more stuff later. Again, I'm not trying to be mean or anything just hoping to expand the mini-guide ^.^ Thanks again for posting this, and if anyone sees anything wrong please post so (I wrote at 3am my time so things are probably messed around a little :P).

edited some silly typos.

#3002539 [Paladin/Warrior] Vs. Frost Mage/Spriest

Posted by Nobendo on 20 January 2011 - 11:49 PM

sit on the priest and he shouldn't be able to do much anything, have your pally spam dispel you and LoS the mage when possible. He can also hammer the mage. With dispels and you on him the spriest shouldn't be able to put out much damage and the mage won't be able to peel except for huge burst, remember you can dispel deep freeze / RoF. You can also set mage to focus and keep intercepting him as a peel then charging back to spriest (until patch anyway).
