Do you know how lone wolf works because I'm not really sure.
I think if you don't have a pet and spec into that, you only get the pet buff, but i'm not sure if you get freedoms/sac.

One really bad thing about Marks that I can see is Chimera.
Chimera, can cause many issues in breaking CC. Especially if the DPS you're killing is standing next to the healer, because now does damage to the target you apply it to, and to a nearby target. Doesn't even have to be to the healer either, if you wyvern an off-dps and you're going against double melee, chances are you may break it.
Considering you only have 3 buttons as marks, and two of them can break CC if not use properly, it can cause a major loss in damage if you're playing with awareness.

I've played beta, no sac or freedom from lone wolf. I don't like lone wolf. And yeah if they just change chimera having aoe it'd be cool, which is why I said just a few tweaks and hunters can be really cool.

Tbh the one thing I like about WoD is that hunters actually feel like they have a place in the game, with what they are doing design wise. Obviously right now they're weak because of damage blah blah blah, but with just a few minor tweaks I think hunters can be fine. The one thing I always disliked about hunters design wise in PVP is that you were basically a ranged melee, and that design kind of felt stupid. Hunters design from MoP, Cata, WoTLK, really just had no place in the game regardless of how good/bad the specs were.

From the looks of things I think blizzard might be pushing to make melee caster healer the optimal set up. And if that is true then the way they are designing hunters actually works in that kind of set up, wheras before you were an assfuck of a melee and a caster, so you were always pretty much cleaving. For WoDs hunter design what I like now is how they're at least pushing to make a distinction between the specs for PvP, mainly between Marksmanship and Survival. Assuming it gets implemented properly and they change up a few things, the design on Marksmanship is actually pretty cool. Basically Marks will be like a caster, requiring you to have a melee on your team so that you can have peels to allow you to get off your high burst and damage. Number tweaks here and there will make it so the reward of getting really good positioning so that you can actually make use of sniper training and making sure you can have your target get locked down for you to get off a few stand still aimed shots for huge burst would be awesome. Ofc with that design it takes away the random retarded nonstop instant damage while 360 noscoping wyverning, which I think is great. New marksmanship if implemented properly will bring utilities from knockbacks, slows, and your traps which I think is cool, and honestly for certain comps I still think casted wyvern can be useful. An example of it being useful is if you have two of the teams dps going extremely aggressive onto you and you needing shockwave as a peel. If he shockwaves both dps you can now also just freely wyvern the off dps, and then push up to their healer for a trap. Now you have cross cc that can honestly make more sense. Oh also the ranged bonus on sniper training reminds me of what I liked about WoTLK hunter - Max ranging vs some wizards because your max range was 45 yards, and they had 40 yard max range, allowing you to max range kite wizards.

As for survival, it feels like it brings tons of peels for a caster, making you feel more like a melee in a melee caster healer set up. You have pretty much constant dps with some burst here and there from lock n load procs, but obviously no execute, which I actually think is fine. On top of that with 12 second trap cd as survival, you can bring constant peels to your team and you can kite for a very large amount of time just with spam slow traps if you were playing with something like a warlock. Your constant slows, freedoms, and sacs would be awesome utility to help a ranged class get casts off against other melee, which I think can be very cool. The root from entrapment just seems incredibly useful now with the removal of so many other CCs.

Lastly I actually like new traps. If you want to trap a healer instantly you have to push up and be very close range which allows you to get punished on your positioning. In MoP I really felt like there was no penalty for just being melee range of the other team and just fucking mongoing, so if you can actually get rewarded for solid positioning and punished for bad on a hunter that would be awesome.

TL;DR if blizzard actually makes sure to implement things correctly, I think hunters in WoD will be neat.

I sexually Identify as an Attack Helicopter. Ever since I was a boy I dreamed of soaring over the oilfields dropping hot sticky loads on disgusting foreigners. People say to me that a person being a helicopter is Impossible and I'm * retarded but I don't care, I'm beautiful. I'm having a plastic surgeon install rotary blades, 30 mm cannons and AMG-114 Hellfire missiles on my body. From now on I want you guys to call me "Apache" and respect my right to kill from above and kill needlessly. If you can't accept me you're a heliphobe and need to check your vehicle privilege. Thank you for being so understanding.
