#4629328 would 500k suffice? @holinka

Posted by Regent on 27 February 2017 - 09:26 PM

it's not about dropping the ball. If you study the market a bit, you might find out what they did to the game was to attract new players. It's all about making the most money out of it and not to satisfy the old "pvp community"- despite I would love if they did. But you gotta be realistic about changing the way this game will develop. If I needed to place a bet, I'd set my money on more and more retard-friendly approach. It's not just "Holinka".

Blizzard spent the last 5 years throwing away their subscribers in an attempt to get people who never wanted to play in the first place.

WoW was made for a specific audience.

WoW became wildly popular to that audience.

Blizzard stops catering to the audience that made the game wildy popular.

Blizzard attempts to appeal to an audience that has no interest in the game.

Game dies.

My friends and I are literally the perfect customer for a game like WoW. We would stay subbed every day of the year, buy all their stupid store mounts, buy transfers/faction changes/race changes. Yet none of us play the game? They messed up really bad.

The fact AJ is dead also says a lot. We have the worst battered wife syndrome ever. ("Season 21 will be different, I promise they will listen soon...")

Hey! Another typical aj post. "They don't care", "fire x", "wow is so bad right now". Let me school you kids for a minute: in all the expansions and every season people were always complaining. It was never good enough. Season credits were never given within the same season.

You must have some seriously low standards if you don't think they have dropped the ball the last few years.

It really says a lot about how bad the situation has gotten when I first saw about this on the WoW subreddit. That place is the biggest circlejerk ever, and 99% of negative opinions about WoW are buried instantly - yet whenever something negative about Holinka gets posted it is actually upvoted.

My new goal in life is to get a job at Blizzard. Not for the money, or the prestige - but simply because, apparently, no matter how bad you are, you keep getting paid indefinitely.

It is really sad when I look back how things went over the last few years. We tried so hard to bridge the gap with Blizzard, but in the end they just don't care.

It is really dumb that the easiest spec in the game is also the strongest.

The system is really stupid, but I guess it doesn't matter much for PvP.

#4609174 Legion Gladiator Cutoffs

Seems like it could be a good revenue raiser for blizzard at the last week of the season with everyone faction changing.

Yeah, it will be ridiculous and probably leave a lot of people angry. Plus, Blizzard can barely handle giving out titles as it is, adding another layer of complexity to it is dangerous.

#4608946 Is pvp in WoW finally dead?

Posted by Regent on 04 October 2016 - 03:14 AM

The real reason WoW pvp is dead and will always be dead is the people making it don't realize anything we said in this thread. The head designer (and everyone else who works on pvp) has very little understanding of the game, or what changes could do, whether it be a buff or a nerf.

During the beta for Legion, frost mages could one shot people with glacial spike and did really high damage and it was pretty unanimous that it needed to be nerfed. So they actually listened and nerfed it. Then, two weeks into the season people are complaining that frost mages aren't as good as fire and then they literally just turn around and make them just as overpowered as they were during beta.

Holinka thought frost dks were strong in MoP, even though not a single one was higher than low duelist. People were like, "hey, fdk are pretty decent damage but need some cc and survive-ability to be viable at higher ratings." and then Blizzard sees that and makes frost dks in wod s1 literally invincible.

I could think of literally endless examples of similar situations since cata. No one at Blizzard understands the game enough to make changes that solve problems, they always just make more problems. Some people have historically argued that it was on purpose to spur people to reroll and spends more time subbed, just constantly rotating fotm on purpose, but now it has literally killed the game - so if that was the truth, it didn't work out well for them. Half my friends list didn't buy the expansion and another fourth don't log in anymore after finding out they needed to PvE to be competitive in PvP. I had around 80 "pvp friends" on my battle.net and less than 15 play ranked pvp at all, and probably only 7-8 actually care about getting rating/the ladder.

If I don my tin-foil hat for a moment, I would say Blizzard is trying to convert as many PvPers in WoW to PvErs before they just give up on PvP completely. They are just slowly removing PvP from the game, first it was 5s, probably RBGs next. Most of the new pvp content this expansion is actually pve content. Prestiging (before 7.1) is actually a PvE mechanic. The amount of new pvp-specific content they put in the game is pretty close to zero, and even game-breaking pvp-related bugs and cheaters go weeks without being fixed.

#4606399 Known bug list

RBGs are currently bugged. Doesn't record wins, doesn't give honor, and doesn't give loot. It does record rating changes though.

#4605181 [POLL] How are you liking Legion character development?

Posted by Regent on 17 September 2016 - 10:53 AM

One of the biggest issues with the current system is that we won't have all our artifact talents until the season is almost over. Starting season 2 on, it won't be a problem anymore, but it could affect the balancing quite a bit.

im like about to quit over suramar quests. most toxic shit ive ever seen. terrain is intentionally designed to waste the most time it can, and it doesn't help that i have to reapply the mask every time i shift to kill shit

Same, I like almost every PvE aspect of the expansion except Suramar. Im 842 ilevel and I have barely done any of Suramar.

PvP could be much more fun if it actually had any rewards.

Honor gain is so slow, it is faster to do PvE world quests to get honor.

Honor talents going away when you prestige is probably the dumbest idea they have ever had.

Artifact power gain from PvP is so bad it is laughable. I can literally spend 60 seconds right clicking squirrels and get more AP than an hours worth of skirms.

All rewards being tied to RNG is also pretty annoying, because bad streaks compound all the previous issues.

Not to mention actually PvPing (as a healer at least) is really frustrating, since almost every team just runs train on healers non-stop and whoever mongoloid trains the other teams healer(s) faster wins in arena, bgs, world pvp.
