#4587555 E3 Goodies

Posted by Spyrö on 15 June 2016 - 06:30 AM

nah bethesda can fuck off. fucking sellouts

they bought fallout and turned it into shit until a later divine intervention from the original authors (i guess that's saved tho so i can forgive)

they turned their own baby franchise (the elder scrolls) into some fucking everquest/wow-like wannabe and are going to follow it up with hearthstone

and now they got their hands on quake and are going to turn it into soem fucking tf/ow-type game

its like their business plan is just "see that trending thing? we have to put it into our franchise no matter what" (could also just be "copy blizzard"). it kinda makes me wonder if the designers/devs for elder scrolls even ever WANTED to make an mmorpg or a card game, or they're just forced to cuz its more money.

shit doesn't even fit. quake with classes and abilities instead of weapons isn't quake anymore. they're not just screwing with some core concepts here or anything, it's way worse: they're taking another game/genre concept and just straight up sticking it in (cuz its trendy right now) and removing everything that makes quake, quake.

it's not even gonna be a bad sequel, it's gonna be a whole different level of shit. i guess quake 4 already took the bad sequel spot so they had to come up with something groundbreakingly awful

Exactly what I was thinking.

I played Quake for 14 years every day (1996 - 2010) and I passed from euphoria to sadness in a heartbeat when somebody linked me the trailer of the new Quake (euphoria from discovering that a new Quake it's gonna come out and sadness when I discovered it's a gonna be a fucking Overwatch).

#4574823 4/8 PvP Alpha Dev Update

Posted by Spyrö on 10 April 2016 - 05:44 AM

With the specific PvP balance per spec and per spell, Legion it's probably gonna be the most balanced expansion damage-wise, but unfortunately that will be countered by the fact that everything will be overpruned and oversimplified.

That fine-tuned balance would be really interesting in a WotLK-like meta expansion.

#4563057 Rogue 6.2 Guide

Posted by Spyrö on 01 February 2016 - 02:11 PM

Do you guys have any tips to reliably land a Vanish > Envenom w/Nightstalker? Trying to get the hang of it for RBGs but I just can't seem to consistently get a +50% envenom. I always end up knocking myself out of stealth with an auto before the envenom connects x_x

Looks like you are pressing some macro with /startattack after using Vanish.

#4509039 [MACRO] Arena123 on nameplates

Posted by Spyrö on 28 September 2015 - 11:15 PM

[MACRO] Arena123 on nameplates

Option 1: One macro
/run C_Timer.NewTicker(.2,function()for A,P in pairs({WorldFrame:GetChildren()})do A=P.ArtContainer if A then for i=1,5 do if P.NameContainer.NameText:GetText()==GetUnitName("arena"..i)then A.LevelText:SetText(i)break end end end end end)
Posted Image

Option 2: Two macros. Same with combat tracking (different color for nameplates of players out of combat)
-- Macro 1
/run PPrOc=function(N,B,L)local c=1 for i=1,5 do if N==GetUnitName("arena"..i)then c=UnitAffectingCombat("arena"..i)and 1 or 0 L:SetText(i)break end end B:SetVertexColor(c,1,c)end

-- Macro 2
/run C_Timer.NewTicker(.2,function()for A,P in pairs({WorldFrame:GetChildren()})do A=P.ArtContainer if A and P:IsVisible()then PPrOc(P.NameContainer.NameText:GetText(),A.Border,A.LevelText)end end end)
Posted Image

Option 3: Two macros highly optimized for performance, faster and much less CPU consuming, no combat tracking
-- Macro 1
/run WorldFrame.PpRc=function(P)P:HookScript("OnShow",function(P)for i=1,5 do if P.NameContainer.NameText:GetText()==P.gUnaMe("arena"..i)then P.ArtContainer.LevelText:SetText(i)break end end end)end

-- Macro 2
/run local W=WorldFrame;W.nC=-1;W:HookScript("OnUpdate",function(s)if s.nC~=s:GetNumChildren()then s.nC=s:GetNumChildren()for _,P in pairs({s:GetChildren()})do if P.ArtContainer and not P.gUnaMe then P.gUnaMe=GetUnitName;s.PpRc(P)end end end end)
Same as option 1

I have created this for "no addons just macros" diehards. If you use addons ArenaPlates is a much better option (much less CPU consuming than the macros, more features, and configurable with an UI panel).

Posted by Spyrö on 27 September 2015 - 03:30 PM

Updated for WoW 6.2.2.

I have removed the TotemFilter option (released a dedicated addon for this called TotemFilter).

I have also added a Configuration UI :duckers:

#4437107 macro help

Posted by Spyrö on 17 June 2015 - 04:07 PM

Why don't you just use different modifiers foreach UnitID? nomod=target, Lshift=focus, Rshift=arena1, Rctrl=arena2, Ralt=arena3. That way it would be much simpler:
/use [@target,nomod][@focus,mod:lshift][@arena1,mod:rshift][@arena2,mod:rctrl][@arena3,mod:ralt] Ability

You can remap keys to rshift, rctrl, ralt with SharpKeys.
Also you can use /use instead of /cast to save characters.

#4370918 Knowing when you can sap out of a CC

Posted by Spyrö on 25 January 2015 - 02:21 PM

Nameplate color changes (different color for nameplates out of combat) is the best way to know who is out of combat. It basically gives you super-human awareness of combat statuses without any effort at all.

#4289014 Default UI Scripts

Posted by Spyrö on 07 December 2014 - 11:24 PM

is there a script for removing the spec icon on the arena frames?

for i = 1, 5 do
With this you should see the specs in the preparation phase (ArenaPrepFrame's) but not once the doors are open (ArenaEnemyFrame's).

#4278094 Holy Paladin: Spell Firing Order, Finger Movement, and Cast Sequence Macro's

Posted by Spyrö on 27 November 2014 - 11:11 PM

There are 7 single different modifiers that work in WoW: nomod, Lshift, Lctrl, Lalt, Rshift, Rctrl, Ralt.

So if you need more modifiers than the left ones, you can just use the right ones also, no need to do crazy macros using Alt+Shift+Ctrl combinations, etc:

It's strange that after 10 years of WoW there's so few people that know that Right Modifiers exists.

It's important to note that if you use RALT and LCTRL in the same macro, RALT should always appear first, because when you push RALT the SO internally generates a LCTRL press first before sending the RALT.

Always use SharpKeys for remapping, it's the best remapper for Windows and the only one that I have tried which works well with all the Right Modifiers.

#4270576 Default UI Scripts

Posted by Spyrö on 20 November 2014 - 02:06 PM

Is there a simple way to just create a casbar icon for the player castbar? Reason I ask is I do not wanna have to add another whole addon to achieve this. Any help would be great.

CastingBarFrameIcon:SetSize(20, 20)
CastingBarFrameIcon:SetPoint("RIGHT", CastingBarFrame, "LEFT", -5, 2)
