Affix (who works, or used to work with blizzard) straight up copy/pasta stole my idea about healing water elementals with frost spells. My original idea was ice lance or ALL frost spells, but somehow the dipshits over at blizz thought mages would want to stand still and cast a 2 sec cast frostbolt to heal their pet. Proof below.
Someone linked me to this so I thought I'd reply (hi AJ, it's been a while!).
You literally told me to pass that suggestion on to Blizzard, which I don't think I ever ended up doing. Devs read these forums (or at least they used to), I was asked to consult for Ghostcrawler by an arenajunkies PM, straight from him. They probably read your suggestion directly, or were already planning it.
It's very rare that they receive a suggestion and implement them as-is. An example was how Ring of Frost - it was 'Path of Frost' in Alpha, a line that did heavy damage and snared if you ran through it. I suggested a ring, so you could place it around yourself/around an enemy/around a teammate. They changed it to a ring, but also turned it in to a CC effect at the same time. It turns out this was a bad idea, because nobody ever really used it like that, they placed it directly on things to guarantee a hit, hence the coalesce time being added, and eventually a cast time.
