If a game were to be competitive of this nature, it's really dumb LoL doesn't have denies.

LoL is trash because it's so dumbed down and noob friendly. It took really anything that was skill in DoTA out of the game.

good thing i'm playing mage on the team right?

Now that the servers are down and I can safely expose this idiot, I'll clarify:

All images can be right clicked and opened in new tab for full size if they don't pan out right on AJ.

He's right. After farming this shit team until they stopped queuing, we took a break from 5s. A two month break that lasted through the end of the season. On the last day, our hunter was busy with mandatory military shenanigans or whatever. Our warrior went to bed at 10:30 or 11 or whatever. He goes to bed early. Our shaman went to his girlfriend's house and called me extremely drunk.

But I was still around.

When I saw this shitter seriously passed us by one point, in an attempt to deny our warrior/hunter/priest the prestigious gladiator title (because people give a shit about that), I had to burst his bubble. It was too much. So I queued with what I had.

  • A rogue who hadn't done a rated arena in months.
  • A hunter who hadn't played 5s since season 8.
  • A warrior alt.
  • And my best friend in the world, Holyentity.

The results:

Posted Image

We had such a shitcan MMR that we actually got 0 points for the first game, and 1 point for the next two games, but since these randies were so confident with their 1 point lead that they felt like they didn't have to check on us or push any higher than the already extremely difficult 3rd place in the 5s bracket, 2 points was enough.

After we played our games, he actually logged onto Arthas to gloat. Of course, I played dumb.

Ibiichan and I laughing at this idiot:

What a fucking retard.

The lesson: don't fuck with wigart, best played warrior i've seen all season and this 5s will be his first gladiator.

Thank god this shit season is over and we can get back to complaining about broken legendaries.

On the pvp/arena Q and A we had a question just outside of the most popular selected ones.  I figure we should take another shot at it.

My experience from running tsg is that it's just downright painful to be a paladin every time a match goes beyond a minute after we initiate combat.

The post I made - http://us.battle.net...2632?page=7#121

"The slated 4.2 paladin class changes seem some what misguided on the pvp end of the game.

Paladins struggle because of a lack of preemptive healing and mostly all hard casted spells allow us to be easily locked down by casters. The lack of lifebloom/rejuv, PW:S/PoM, or earth shield/riptide cause instant cast crowd control and silence effects to be far more devastating against paladin teams.

Is there any consideration to a holy power generated heal over time, holy power absorb, or buffs to glyph of long word?"

Vote for it please so we can get a response or link other replies in that thread to vote for here.

You should see how painful it is being the other team in the first minute.

#3317501 Stop balancing the game around pvp!

Posted Kelarm on 21 June 2011 - 05:07 AM

Such a dumb thing to say for so many reasons, yet so many PvErs say it.  For one thing, the game is clearly balanced around PvE.  The vast majority of players PvE at least some, and arena balance is blatantly sacrificed for extremely long periods of time while blizzard tip-toes around PvE balance to try to find some proper nerfs (or buffs).  4.0.6 warriors, for example.  Middle-of-the-pack DPS on dragons, retardedly high damage and burst in arena.  While PvErs happily slay all of the content without even breaking a sweat, arena players are getting globalled by backpedalling warriors for months (and that was a comparatively fast patch too) waiting for blizzard to finally just give up and split colossus smash.

But besides all of that obvious crap, the fact is that PvE is "balanced" in some sense of the word just by its most fundamental nature; the boss is designed to lose.  Nerfs and buffs always come at the same time and the strength of the raid is basically unchanged, so the dumbass QQ must just come from the fucking meters, which is retarded because the actual objective is for the boss to die, and it will.  Obviously no one is going to call it balanced if they did something like buff ret paladins by 250% and every raid is just 6 ret paladins 2 healers and 2 tanks, but bitching because the downs rogue next to you did 6% more DPS smashing his dps rotation on the meter some assclown linked right before the master looter handed out everyone's free epics...that's kind of retarded.

#3308349 Ready boyz?

Posted Ahlaundoh on 17 June 2011 - 03:12 PM

People that haven't played a Death Knight don't how much we are hurt by being trained all game. Sure, Death Knights have great survivability, but when you're on one, you force them to Death Strike rather than to Necrotic/HB, and it cuts their pressure significantly. When a DK is living in a "1v3" for 30 seconds, I guarantee you they've pet sac'd/lichborned/ERW Death Striked. Now don't get me wrong, DK's are gods right now, but the fact that they're nerfing DS without any compensation is just ridiculous (coupled with the HC nerf)

#3307548 More MMR exploiters to report

Posted Recursion on 17 June 2011 - 06:44 AM

People to report, Slimyy and Nécro

http://us.battle.net...k/Slimyy/simple
http://us.battle.net...ck/Nécro/simple

Why I'm reporting this: These players were 2500 with a 51% win/loss ratio the day before the patch. The next 2 days they climbed to 2700 since they have a feral on their team and clearcast was bugged, allowing them to shred without any energy cost, making feral dmg out of control. Being excited about being 2700 and what they thought was close to glad range, they leveled up a new team on other peoples toons (named Departe, Auddie, and Auds) and then queued into their own team with the feed team to bring them to 2735. After being caught, sniped, and reported by myself and a few others, they decided to change the name of the priest to Flashlol, disband the team, and deny all accusations (kinda doesn't look good that you changed the priest's name and disbanded the team if you're innocent does it?) Another funny thing to note is that their feed team was named "Farming inmotionz" Inmotionz was a member of my team (afrcinmotion the priest) and we farmed them, so then they remade a team and called it "farming inmotionz"...and were farmed again...? (farmed by spriest team post patch lolll see pics, inmotionz screen shotted some of them)

Proof that its them:

http://img600.images.../5534/slimf.jpg

After a few weeks and realizing 2735 wasn't going to be safe for glad on bloodlust, they tried to level up their feed team once again but were not very successful, so transferred/faction changed to Kel'Thuzad Alli on these characters who they do not own(now named Slimyy and Stickyy). They made a name for themselves quick by posting in the nightfall forums with a pretty audacious attitude, see this page and the next one (http://www.arenajunk.../page__st__1960) and it wasn't long before they'd begin to exploit the MMR system using other peoples characters, tanking their mmr's, then using them to play with their "alt" characters.

Unfortunately, having made a name for themselves already on one battlegroup, and getting off on the wrong foot in another, people weren't about to take this shit. Slimyy also thought it'd be a bright idea to stream while account sharing, mmr tanking, and then mmr exploiting with their "alts". Hewty and their guild mates immediately exposed them on this, see this page and the next one (http://www.arenajunk.../page__st__2140) The link is outdated on hewty's post though, so this is the team and characters they used to tank mmr, and then used those characters to play with their own. Apparently they got their MMR's to around 3300 by playing with the characters who's MMR's they tanked.

After being exposed they decided to transfer yet again, to where, who knows. At this point they've been reported by over 100 people, mostly their guild members, but it wouldn't hurt if more did, so feel free to report them, the GM's already have a whole file on them, they'll know you're talking about. Sad to see people pay over $100 for pixels in a video game, as well as exploit and cheat the system, ruining it for others :/ All while defending and lying to themselves, only to be exposed and silenced immediately.

Go ahead and report them, you don't need the screen shots, its the awareness raised what the GM's are looking for, they have the screen shots, IP logs, and other evidence needed to do what the exploiters deserve, all we have to do is bring it to their attention.

Their own characters to report:
http://us.battle.net...NYY FAKE CASTS/

Evidence of the MMR exploiting ON STREAM:

Their AJ profiles (unlinked characters after they got exposed and owned):

http://www.arenajunk...sliimy-6195984/
http://www.arenajunk.../178904-clc-45/

Looks as if they're now exploiting the MMR system on their real team, look at the warriors achievements, he had never broken 2400, playing with this character so that they will only gain MMR themselves.

#3303400 Is the arena community too competitive for wow?

Posted Breadstick on 15 June 2011 - 06:54 PM

personally I believe the wow community is far too competitive for a game like wow. look at this website, it's a place for the best of the best to discuss the game and strategies, along with talking shit to other teams/players over who wins games, who gets glad or r1, etc. but honestly none of this actually matters for the game. blizzard doesn't care, the game isn't balanced, it never has been balanced nor will it ever be balanced.

new expansions are about adding new shit that looks cool and is fun to use. no matter how much bullshit blizzard tells us, making things balanced in pvp is almost completely irrelevant. people play wow to kill scripted bosses that are designed to lose, unfortunately, not to play 3v3 and and become "good" at the game.

MLG dropped wow (and correct me if i'm wrong) because it had such a low view count compared to its other e-sports like sc2 and cod. those games are setup to be competitive because there's really only the one aspect to the game and that is the game's selling point, so it attracts people who are interested in that, instead of people who want to do quests, dungeons and level characters so they can kill bosses later.

I'm honestly really surprised the community has been able to squeeze out enough fun in arena that there's still a large amount of people playing. i suppose it's a good thing, and i'm not sure if i'm just a pessimist, but seeing the same discussions about balance and new ideas just feels depressing knowing that so many great ideas are going to waste because blizzard simply does not care.

most of what i've said has probably already been said before, but i'm not sure if it's really been talked about a whole lot so i felt like bringing it up. :D

also after reading this over it sort of feels like i'm whining, but honestly i'm just trying to see if anyone feels the same...so tl;dr: are the type of people who play arenas in wow better suited to play a different game like sc2?

#3302682 Open Letter to devs from a concerned gladiator warrior

Posted mccuisto on 15 June 2011 - 12:50 PM

I posted the below on the warrior forums.  Here's the http://us.battle.net...opic/2674978761

Hiya! My name is Alex, I am a Warrior on azgalor, 190 days played, 3 gladiator mounts and a shadowmourne later, here I am.

I have been doing arenas since season 1, been quitting on and off, loved warriors since I started playing.

4.1 has been great for me.  The necessity to rend over and over is gone for because mortal strike refreshes it. This is fantastic.  Slam is good with the talent and LTTS, it allows for warriors like me who have their rotation down perfectly to input slam in instead of heroic strike (allowing for more damage and more perfect play)  Charge being off DR is great, the 1.5 second is just enough to allow me to land a slow. Any more it would be overpowered, any less would be insufficient.

But now onto my irritations.  People have been jumping my charge since season one. Top tier pvpers, mages and hunters especially, have the ability to jump before any slows can be landed.  This is annoying. Charge is supposed to reduce the distance and as it stands now, it doesn't. I'm not sure if that's how you intended high level PVP to work out.

My other concern is much more minimal.  It has to do with world PVP.

When I want to send a special ops team into Ironforge, I want to send a special ops team into Ironforge.

I want to be able to send ~8 people into ironforge and just dominate at like 3am (like I have for the past 3-4 years).

But as it is now, it's about 4 guards that spawn for every horde that I bring.  That's fine if its working as intended, and that's fine too if victory rush isn't supposed to proc off of killing guards.

I'd just like some confirmation from a dev that those are both working as intended, and if that's the way it is, maybe some of these posts will change your mind :)

I've also decided to post this on Swifty's facebook wall (you don't know who swifty is, really?), because he is the main warrior representation(as far as I know?)

#3299130 M/DK/S vs. TSG

Posted Mayes on 13 June 2011 - 08:19 PM

This setup is an uphill battle for the TSG,if you cant CC the healer then your shaman can,get a hex out on the TSGs healer and then sheep the dk and nuke the warrior or something similar.

#3298989 Glad calculator has been updated

Posted Guest on 13 June 2011 - 06:29 PM

If you look at the bigger picture, all the healers has got defensive dispell, while restodruids and holypalas aren't that great right now, if you compare healers to healers, they're fairly balanced (except restoshamans in my opinion)

yes, cleaves are dominating right now, and the only "viable" MCHs are x mage priest and x lock shaman (to a certain extent), I doubt cleaves will dominate like they do now with some minor tweaks/nerfs and in later content when our healthpool and resilience rise. My two cents.

While I found TBC alot more fun, it's simply because the game was new, exciting and nobody knew what was going on. Don't come here and tell me rogue/spriest, RMP and warriormace was balanced. I agree with Tosan, alltho I can't comment on WOTLK since I didn't play.

HOWEVER, ON TOPIC;

The calculators aren't done yet as far as I'm concerned, according to a 0-20 team in misery, the cutoff is +- 42 teams.
