#4427945 Hey, 2015 Blizz - meet yourselves from the past

but are you not delusional?

even in this post you believe you are some kind of great source of information and that Blizzard will take your existance into account, they've had information from AJ for 7 years now, 99% of the time they do not give one shit.

just because u wasted a big deal of your life on this game does not mean that they have to listen or care about you, but somehow in your deluded mind you are important to them and what you write on arenajunkies.com is what they're gonna change in their game.

First of all, why the fuck do you even think I have some sense of false grandeur, if any at all ? And I didn't waste any of my time on this game that I wouldn't have wasted otherwise on other activities, this game never came even top 5 on my priority list in life ( actually vanilla did, but highschool was ez and people kept getting grounded ). Nonetheless, stop trying to profile someone if you can't do it successfully.

What I DO believe however is that shit I write is ten thousand times better for this forum than internal jokes and "man this game is shit" posts. But whatever floats your boat really, think what you want.

To the guy who mentioned friends - I actually met two of my best RL mates thanks to this game ( and gaming in general ). Also life goes on and people lose touch, etc. I've got several friends who are studying/working abroad, and a lot of buddies are scattered across the country. Games are a perfect medium to keep in touch with them on a daily basis. Best part is when people get upset that you don't say hello to them from time to time, yet they know that they can join a skype convo/game lobby whenever they want to. I've also never been able to juggle social groups more than now thanks to technology and gaming in general. Coming back home from a beer session with your college buddies to playing games with people you otherwise wouldn't have time for.

I think we're way past the point of shunning people for some things, so with all his other retarded opinions, leave Regent be on this matter because he's actually correct.

#4418631 Why is Blizzard silent as WoW dies?

Posted Regent on 05 May 2015 - 08:59 AM

I recently passed 10 years playing this game, I have been to five Blizzcons, and cleared almost every ounce of content put into the game. I believe I have a pretty good grasp of the game, of who plays the game, how they play the game, and why they play the game.

Life is a cycle, we are born, we grow and grow, and then eventually we begin to die, our bodies fail, and eventually we pass.

A game such as WoW is similar, it was born, it grew and grew and it will eventually die. The difference is, unlike us, it can be changed, parts can continually be replaced, made better.

World of Warcraft is no longer growing, they are no longer adding content, they take it away or water it down. These last few months are the first time that I feel WoW is truly "dying." This should be expected, because it will eventually happen. The problem is, why is it happening now?

Blizzard recently canceled their new MMO and said that they wanted to focus on WoW for the next 10 years instead. This was announced almost a year ago, yet we see nothing happening with WoW that coincides with that plan. This is the least content in an expansion ever, patches are mediocre, PvP participation and balance is incredibly awful.

Why do we not hear anything? Every day the game bleeds subscribers at an unsustainable rate, and yet we get patches with basically nothing but twitter selfies added. People could argue that I only think that because I mainly PvP, but I have friends that span every asset of WoW gameplay and the only ones that aren't severely disappointed are the super casuals (but these people only subscribe a few months a year.)

Has Blizzard just lost their touch? Do they not realize what is happening?

At first I thought this was just a bad lull in content, some things went wrong and they would admit to their mistakes and then immediately work to fix things. Every day that goes on makes me, and everyone I know, lose faith even more.

What do you guys think? Does the silence bother you more than the state of the game?

- Mages and sub rogues are, and have been since day 1 of WoD, ridiculously overpowered.  A few weeks back I was rofl'ing on the regular at every sub rogue who thought they were some sort of god for playing sub over combat when sub was barely any less ridiculous, and every mage that was crying for buffs when spamming polymorph with 95% of your GCDs is one of the most simple and effective arena strategies I've ever seen.

- Resto shamans don't need buffs, they just need power moved around in their kit to make them more resistant to training but less effective at everything else.

- Hunters need to literally lose about half their kit to be on the utility level of almost every other class

- Cooldowns are fucking retarded and the game has become nothing but cooldown stacking and trading

- Arena takes almost no skill right now for almost every dps class and the ladder is pretty much a measure of who gets to play with the best healers (and even at that, mostly just the best resto druids).  It's a measure of your ReadlID list more than it's a measure of your skill.  If I gave even one tenth of a fuck about this game that I used to, I would reroll healer immediately, because that's the whole reason I rolled warlock in the first place.

i gotta wonder what the point of all this nostalgia is, why do you think this cherez character quit?

because being good at this game offers literally nothing. long queues, prestige from idiots (hey man how much resil u got? what kind of pet u use vs rmp? how u got that mount? i won 1 match in every arena but i'm dont have arena master lol), cheating, people target you to exploit your rating. nobody sponsors you anymore. there's no hope of winning a tournament. you couldn't even reliably win blizzcon, because who knows what horseshit they'd do to you at regionals

i had an epic duel with woundman in that shitty strand bg right after release and i didn't even care when i won because spamming trap every 12 seconds is not fun.

just the concept of this game, that one person will always be not playing their own character, is just stupid. that isn't a pvp game, it's a roleplaying game.

what other fighting game has cc of this length? name ONE example of comparative cc in a competitive game

stop pretending.

maybe i am awful at this game and always have been or maybe it's so homogenized that the elements that used to be important (1v1) don't even exist anymore.

why don't one of you pros shoot a video and cast some commentary of your perfect, complex gameplay? please add your thought process behind each arena match

1) cc this
2) kill this
3) ???
4) profit

sick strats bro

i have played hunter for what, 8 years? it is not recognizable to anything that existed in tbc. i feel like it is so dumb that i don't enjoy it. the thrill of landing a trap is gone, no deadzone, no glyph of wing clip, no readiness, low pet micro, no more big raptor strikes

it's just simplified so everyone can pretend to play a hunter as efficiently as possible. the problem is that the difference between good and bad hunters doesn't exist

readiness alone increased the skill cap of hunter by an unquantifiable amount, all that stuff is gone now and honestly as a haggard veteran of this game i can't imagine anyone else finding the same thing done to their class and them just.. continuing on

it's thankless, the designers assume that people who pvp this much are addicted so they don't care about. the people they care about do pet battles and suck dick at this game. you're supposed to do pet battles and suck, it's what blizzard wants

i do think it's time to let go, though. pretending that anything balanced or competitive happens on live us servers right now is pretty funny

my honest opinion is that the people who still care aren't capable of validating themselves another way and the rest of everyone else just doesn't realize how bad trying to pvp in this game is

people almost killed league of legends because they said the community was toxic. i gotta say, i think this community is 10x worse

i think the common denominator in abusive relationships is always low self esteem. it's all just people who literally can't make themselves feel like their life is going well without a 2600 arena rating they contrived by a combination of fotm scum, ddos, strategic queueing, sniping, dodging aaaaaaaaaaaaaand just plain win trading

what is there to feel good about when more than 80% of all arena players openly cheat

oh yeah, and whose fucking idea was it to let you see your enemies talents and change your own talents before every game? that's tedious shit. just give me a spec and let me fight fairly, or fuck off

isn't that a huge nerf to stealth classes? you're supposed to not know what stealth it is. you're supposed to play reactively like that, trying to play the best you can with each global like in every other pvp game.

no one is looking out for classic shit like that because there's no continuity or logic behind the design. caring about something like that is.. masochistic.

even blizzard said, "we considered making it a pvp game, but we just didn't see any potential" hearthstone has a spectator client so you can watch your 1 friend draw random cards and put them down. the spectator client for this game was made b- actually, not gonna complain about specific shit, i'll just go on forever

it's just not a pvp game, it's a roleplaying game. that's why i have been trolling this entire time, it's the only fun thing about this mess

That's the irony.

People are disgusted by polyspam, but it only exists because our damage outside of orb-nova-storm is so fucking shit.

If our frostbolts wouldnt actually get outhealed by every DPS' class passive healing, you wouldn't see poly spam.

Bullshit. Polyspam exists because it means teams can't do anything when you're waiting on DRs on the enemy healer. This is a side-effect of Blizzard fucking up the dispel system in MOP and has existed since MOP.

#4336026 [Frost Mage] The truth, are they balanced or wat

Posted Kelarm on 06 January 2015 - 10:58 PM

Mages are not weak.  A lot of mages are doing a really great job pretending the class is weak and they've got a pretty good whine fest going on, but from a balance standpoint the class is fine.  God comp is easily one of the strongest comps in the game, if not the strongest.  Other comps using mages are starting to pick up more and more, like RMD.

Especially in my last few Qing sessions, I've seen at least as many mages as warlocks, warriors, and even DKs.  And it seems to me the general perception of high-end PvPers has shifted from "I mean, maybe mages could use some help" more toward "wtf are you guys talking about, this is strong."

From a design standpoint, I don't even play the class but I can still tell the design is terrible.  Mages and warlocks got opposite and equally terrible direction this expansion.  In previous expansions, frost mages have been the extreme control, good burst class.  Warlocks have been the extreme damage, good control class.  Both classes just lost half their identity for no discernible reason.  Mages lost all their damage outside of ice nova, leaving them with only control, which they spend the entire game spamming.  Meanwhile, warlocks lost all their control outside of shit fears, leaving them with only damage, which they spend the entire game spamming.  Both designs are garbage and have removed a huge amount of skill from these 2 classes which have historically been among the highest skill cap in the game.  I really hope they take a hard look at the design of both classes and fix what they've broken.  However, we all know that's probably not going to happen until next expansion, and even at that, Blizzard has never been known to make anything actually better.  Things always just seem to get steadily worse.  In light of that, this is just the reality now, and we are left to try to enjoy our classes as they are.

This is mostly you not being good enough. If what you say is true then how do you explain how the top (multiglad equivalent) players can make smurfs and get from zero to diamond/challenger in one day by winning almost every game? It's been proven time and one again that if you are good enough you will stomp through soloq to high rank. Or if you're not AS good but still way better than people in your rank you will always steadily climb rating over time because you will still win a lot more than lose. Climbing soloq is not a test of you being better than your rank by a little bit if you want to climb fast. To climb fast you need to be able to be that much better than your rank such that you can even carry 4 retards more games than not. Because if you say you get 1-3 retards per game, so does the other team statistically and since you think you are better than your rating then you should be the star player that the other team won't have to carry their own retards.

Put simply, they don't.  My opinion on this is very unpopular so I'm not going to argue too much about it, but I refuse to join the circle jerk about mindset and shit in that game that is built upon the pretense that the system actually works.

The best players in the game can USUALLY (and that's an important distinction) quickly bring a smurf up to d1/challenger (or I guess master now).  However, as you said, you have to be WAY better than your rank in order to climb the ladder at a reasonable pace.  Once you reach a rating that's somewhere in the vicinity of where you belongs, the impact of your skill on the game shrinks to practically nothing, because there are a ton of other factors influencing the outcome of the game, most notably the other fucking NINE players in there.  I know multiple friends who struggled for months in d5/d4 before hitting one lucky win streak to d1 and just staying there because that's where they should've been all along.  It's true that eventually you would reach your correct rating regardless of matchmaking luck, but statistical variance does not really work when every game is 30-45 minutes long.  People assume that if you play a couple hundred games at a rating and you're still stuck there, that's where you belong.  That's simply mathematically incorrect, if you're "running bad" (poker term, if you know it) and are not ridiculously higher skilled than your current rating, it can easily take a lot more than a couple hundred games to even out.  It might even take a couple thousand.

The breakdown of the system can easily be observed in practically every ranked game that's ever been played.  You get 10 people matchmade together who are supposedly almost exactly the same skill level (like within 30 elo out of 3 thousand), and yet its PAINFULLY obvious that some of them are better than others.  In fact, in any given game, the difference in skill between the worst player and the best player in the game is fucking massive, even though they're all supposedly the same.  I also might point out that in the vast majority of ranked games played, there are clearly player(s) on the losing team who deserved to win (by outplaying their role-opponent), and player(s) on the winning team who deserved to lose (got carried).  This is essentially undeniable, and it very clearly illustrates the serious drawbacks of this system.

I peaked at mid d2, for what it's worth.  So I'v been nearly across the entire ladder (low silver to upper diamond) and my opinion never changed in the slightest.  However, my overall KDA was about 4.5:1 last season (while the average at every rating is roughly 2:1) and I never reached a rating where I did not outplay my role-opponent 9 times out of 10.  I even played every role (all to that level, give or take a KDA) to give my team maximum flexibility, so it's not like I was "top or feed" and got great numbers while screwing my teams half the time.  It feels stupid to say because everyone in that game always thinks they belong higher than they are (omg I'd be diamond if I didn't get such bad teams), but based on the evidence given to me I don't see how I could draw any other conclusion, and it also lines up with the logic and the math.  For the majority who say it, it's an empty statement while their numbers are entirely average.

At this point it doesn't even matter to me since I've long since stopped caring about my rating and basically stopped playing altogether now, but that doesn't mean I'm going to accept that community's majority circle-jerk about how great the system is.  It's absolute trash, and it's a joke for a competitive game (and the largest e-sport in the world) to be based on.

TLDR: when games are 40 minutes long, luck is not going to even out in a reasonable timeframe.  The system does not work.  And even if it did, a competitive game should never be based on a solo Q ladder.

People have found out how to bug mind control to cause people in arena to get "kicked off" their own team, losing instantly.

Priests run at you and spam mind control until it happens. (There is more to it, but I don't want it to spread it)

This is an insane bug and will ruin the ladder if it doesn't get fixed.

This is my second guide, for new and returning players to the Holy Paladin class for Legion PvP. In this guide I will mainly be going over abilities, talents, tip and tricks, and other general things I have learned from playing the beta. My goal with this guide is that anybody taking the time to read it will learn something new about paladins in legion, so thank you and enjoy!

New Legion Changes
Where to begin… let’s start with all of our new abilities, and how the paladin class has changed as a whole going into Legion.

Familiar things to look out for, and a core part of the healing rotation, flash of light and holy light with infusion of light procs. Beacon of light is still the same, but otherwise, there are a ton of changes to talk about with our spells.

-We have a new mastery, now our healing is increased depending on how close we are to our target. Now don’t panic, we do not have to be in melee range the whole time. Our level 100 talent Beacon of the Lightbringer (mandatory) allows us to gain benefit from our mastery off of our Beacon of Light as well. So if we heal our Beacon target, you gain full mastery benefit. I’ll go over this more later.

-Holy shock is now a 9 second cooldown reduced by haste. (up from 6 seconds)

-Light of the Martyr: Sacrifice a portion of your own health to instantly heal an ally for (500% of Spell power). You take damage equal to 50% of the healing done.

Does not cause your Beacon of Light to be healed. Cannot be cast on yourself.

One of the additions to our healing toolkit, LotM is basically a stronger instant cast flash of light, with the 50% damage penalty. The spell is used when you want avoid interrupts.

-Light of Dawn: Unleashes a wave of holy energy, healing up to 5 injured allies within a 15 yd frontal cone for (180% of Spell power).

Now a 12 second cooldown reduced by haste, instant cast heal. Used when holy shock and all other instants are on cooldown.

-Aura Mastery: Empowers your chosen aura and increases its radius to 40 yards for 6 sec.

3-minute cooldown, also gives special effect to devotion, sacrifice, and mercy auras. More on this under talents.

-With denounce removed from the game, the way you deal damage has changed, now consisting of judgment, crusader strike, and holy shock.
The rotation goes judgment>crusader strike>crusader strike>holy shock>crusader strike

Judgment: Judges the target dealing (250% of Spell power) Holy damage and causing the target to take 30% increased damage from your Crusader Strike and Holy Shock for 6 sec. 12 second cooldown reduced by haste.

Crusader Strike: Strike the target for 210% Physical damage. Maximum 2 charges. 4.5 second cooldown reduced by haste.

-Blessings of sacrifice, freedom, and protection all have 1 charge baseline.
-Avenging wrath is a 2-minute cooldown with a 35% healing and 20% crit chance increase.
-Consecration was added back in the game for holy paladins!
-Divine protection is now a baseline 20% reduction to all damage.

-New ability divine steed: Summons your Holy mount to ride for 3 sec, increasing movement speed by 100%. Usable while indoors or in combat.

Divine Steed is one of the best abilities we have gained for legion. The potential is very high with this spell, you can use it offensively to land a hammer of justice, or defensively to line of sight crowd control. Combined with freedom it feels a little clunky to get it off, but it’s worth it to create distance (except against rogues who teleport to you, and death knights who grip). But then you can also talent into 2 charges so you can do some cool stuff.

Normal Talents (Non PvP)

In this section of the guide I will be covering the normal PvE talent tree, levels 15-100. I will go over each talent that will be used as default, and mention others which have their place in certain scenarios.

Remember that talents will be swapped every game depending on what you’re fighting against, and also what composition you are playing.

Level 15: Bestow Faith and Crusader’s Might.

-Bestow Faith: After 5 seconds, the target you cast this on will receive a heal a bit stronger then flash of light. 12 second cooldown.
Bestow faith is good in situation where you can predict swaps or incoming damage, because of the 5 second delay time in the healing. There are a ton of possibilities with this talent, but one common combo is to bestow faith yourself, then spam light of the martyr on your ally to avoid interrupts.

-Crusader’s Might: Every time you use crusader’s strike, your holy shock cooldown is reduced for 1.5 seconds. Now this talent is very important when not only playing avenging crusader build (more on this later), but also in Legion we’re very dependent on infusion of light procs to do burst healing. This is because in the current state of the game flash of light does barely any healing at all outside of cooldowns. Holy light can be talented so that the healing is increased by 100% (more on this later), thus infusion procs are powerful.

Level 30: Cavalier

-Divine steed is our mobility for the expansion. Cavalier grants us 2 charges of divine steed. Now why would we want 2 charges? For example, you could divine steed into the healer for a hammer of justice, then divine steed back behind line of sight. Divine steed away from a death knight, he grips you, then divine steed for a second time while freedom is still active on yourself. There are so many situations where this talent is useful, it’s all about discovering how you want to use it in your playstyle. It feels clunky to freedom then divine steed, but most of the time this is correct.

Level 45: Fist of Justice and Repentance

-Fist of Justice: Whenever you cast judgment the cooldown of hammer of justice is reduced by 10 seconds. The range of HoJ stays at 10 yards. If judgment is used on cooldown (12 seconds reduced by haste), you can get the cooldown of HoJ down to 34-40 seconds depending on your rotation. This will be the talent used by default, so get used to casting judgment on cooldown.

-Repentance: Finally, repentance takes off dot/bleeds when cast on the target, this has never happened before. Quite honestly, repentance will be super strong when playing without a mage/hunter/monk. Even with those classes, there are many opportunities to cross cc a team. The cast time is still pretty long and the range 30 yards, but the reward is very high if you get it off in clutch moments.

Level 60: Devotion Aura

-Devotion Aura: An automatic pick, never swap off of this talent. The damage reduction is way too good. It is a 10 yards range, but you can PvP talent into Divine Vision to make it 40 yards. This gives your whole team a passive 6.67% (repeating) damage reduction. With only 1 ally in range, 10% to each of you. When you use aura mastery, everyone on your team receives a full 20% reduction, as well as 15% increased healing from your artifact trait.

Level 75: Holy Avenger

-Holy Avenger: This talent increases your haste by 30% and increases your holy shock healing by 30% for 20 seconds. Something you’ll notice after playing is that paladins need haste, badly. In addition to faster cast times and the global cooldown, most of our abilities cooldowns get reduced by haste. Holy Shock, Light of Dawn, Judgment, Crusader Strike, just to name the important ones.

Level 90: Sanctified Wrath

-Sanctified Wrath: Does the same thing as last expansion, increases Avenging Wrath duration to 30 seconds (up from 20s) and holy shock cooldown reduced in half. This talent also interacts with Avenging Crusader. Quite honestly the other 2 choices in this row are garbage for PvP.

Level 100: Beacon of the Lightbringer

-Beacon of the LightBringer: (Mastery: Lightbringer) now increases your healing based on the target’s proximity to either you or your Beacon of Light, whichever is closer. The healing and range of Light of Dawn are increased by 30%.

The best talent of the row, you can be near a pillar to line of sight cc, and still gain full benefit from your mastery. This is especially important when healing melee classes on your team or any teammates overextended. Also makes Light of Dawn worth pressing in the rotation when you can heal 3 targets.

PvP Talents

Row 1: Gladiator’s Medallion and Relentless

-Gladiator’s Medallion: Normal PvP trinket on a 2-minute cooldown. Still a solid choice.

-Relentless: 25% cc reduction passive. even without orc stun reduction, I believe it will be used against rogues and mages. Those 2 classes bring so much cc that it is usually better to just have the passive 25% reduction. Very good choice when using Avenging Crusader, since you will be much more susceptible to cc.

Row 2: Defender of the Weak and Divine Favor

-Defender of the Weak: After healing a target below 50%, your haste is increased by 20% for 5 seconds. After you come out of a cc chain, your teammates will usually be below 50%, and if they’re not, well that’s great news. But the main reason this talent is important is that while you have the haste buff, your global cooldown is much faster, your cast times are much faster. Most importantly, the cooldown of Holy Shock, Judgment, and Crusader Strike is decreased. You can see the potential of this ability really shine when playing Avenging Crusader spec (melee paladin).

-Divine Favor: The next Flash of Light or Holy Light will be increased by 100%, and cannot be interrupted. 45 second cooldown. So this is our new “aura mastery”, but for only 1 cast. It is a pretty decent talent, but when you can get stunned and even blanket silenced on it, I’m not quite sold on it yet. You generally need an Infusion of Light proc (fast cast Holy Light) to make this talent useful.

Row 3: Divine Vision*

-Divine Vision: Increases the range of your Aura by 30 yards (up to 40 yards). So this PvP talent makes it so your aura actually does something in PvP for your team. Something interesting you can also do is since we will always take devotion aura, you can spec out of Divine Vision and give yourself a passive 20% damage reduction if you are more than 10 yards away from your team. Thus the * I included, you will spec out of divine vision if you are getting trained the whole game against specific comps.

Row 4: Light’s Grace and Pure of Heart

-Light’s Grace: Increases healing of Holy Light by 100% and stacks a 5% damage reduction up to 3 times. The damage reduction buff lasts 8 seconds. This talent is the best in the row against most everything, it makes our Infusion of Light (fast cast Holy Light) procs very valuable, thus we cannot waste any procs.

-Pure of Heart: When you or allies within 20 yards are healed from ANY source, they are cleansed of all Diseases and Poisons. Yea this talent is strong against the obvious classes, assassination rogues, unholy death knights, but the third class that this talent is useful against is hunters. This talent destroys the hunter mortal strike effect. You can skip this talent against frost death knights.

Row 5: Ultimate Sacrifice

-Ultimate Sacrifice: Blessing of Sacrifice now transfer 100% of all the damage to you into a damage over time effect. This talent is insane. I cannot stress enough that a well-timed ultimate sacrifice can change the tide of a game. Did I mention that you cannot dispel Blessing of Sacrifice now? You’re making whoever you cast it on IMMUNE to damage for 12 seconds. You have to be careful though, as soon as you cast Ult Sac, you will be the kill target. The best way to use this talent is to pop it, divine steed away from the fight, and cast your artifact weapon (more on this later).

Row 6: Avenging Crusader and Blessed Hands (The most important talent row)

-Blessed Hands: Grants 2 charges to all your blessings. This talent is just plain strong, 2 charges of freedom, sacrifice, protection. You take this talent against heavy cc comps such as rogue/mage or warrior/mage.

-Avenger Crusader: I saved the best for last. This is my favorite talent of the expansion, and the holy paladin class. Without this talent, I would have probably quit paladin.

Your Crusader Strike, Judgment and auto-attack damage is increased by 40%.

The cooldown recovery rate of Crusader Strike and Judgment is increased by 50% (reduced in half).

When you deal damage with Crusader Strike and Judgment, you and the nearest 2 injured allies will be healed for 200% of the damage done. Lasts 20 seconds (30 seconds with Sanctified Wrath)
1 minute cooldown.

So the basics when running this talent is as follows.
1.   Beacon of Light on the target taking the most damage.
2.   Judgment>Crusader Strike>Crusader Strike>Holy Shock for healing or damage.
3.   The main goal is to always have judgment applied to your target when you attack with Crusader Strike.
4.The AoE healing transfers to your beacon target, I cannot stress this point enough, the secret to this spec is to keep beacon on the target taking the most damage, or the target you want topped off. That’s it.

Playing with Avenging Crusader has its downsides as well. Since you are in melee range in the fight you can get cc’d more easily. Also you can get swapped to and attacked much more easily as well.

When playing with this new playstyle, don’t get discouraged. It’s new and takes some getting used to. At first I thought it would not be that good, but as I played it more and more, after much practice it is easily one of best experiences I have had playing WoW.

Artifact Weapon

In this section I will be going over our artifact weapon, new to Legion we will have the same weapon throughout the expansion but now we upgrade it with artifact power. Our Artifact Ability is Tyr’s Deliverance.

Tyr’s Deliverance: Heals an injured ally within 15 yards for 39,054 (scales by gear/in PvP combat) every 0.9 sec. for 10 seconds. Allies healed receives 20% increased healing from your Holy Light and Flash of Light for 10 seconds. 2 second cast (reduced by haste) 1.5 min cooldown.

At first I thought our artifact ability was, excuse the language, complete LUL. But as I played with it, I came to realize that it’s not that bad. The situation you want to use this in are before a cc chain, behind a pillar after you ultimate sacrifice’d your teammate, or right before the enemy team pops heavy aoe damage.

Power of the Silver Hand: Casting Holy Light and Flash of Light have a chance of increasing the healing of your next Holy Shock by 10% of all damage and effective healing (not over healing) you do within the next 10 sec.

In plain English, it’s just a nice extra healing boost when you’re going through your normal rotation. It’s passive so don’t worry too much about it.

The Light Saves: When the health of your Beacon of Light target falls below 50%, the next Holy Light or Flash of Light on the Beacon target will be increased by 100%. Passive, can occur only once every 30 sec.

The way this talent works is that the beacon has to be on the target when they fall below 50% hp. You cannot beacon a target below 50% and get the buff. They would have to go above 50% hp, then fall below 50% hp again. Also keep in mind it’s for the beacon target.

Protection of Tyr: 15% healing increase while aura mastery is active to all allies within 40 yards. Good aoe healing increase. Passive.

Spending Artifact Power

As of writing this guide, the way I plan on spending my artifact power is as follows. I will be leveling as protection, and buying only 13 artifact traits in the protection weapon. Sadly leveling as holy paladin is not very fast.

Then the order of purchase for artifact traits goes as follows:

Virtues of the Light, Knight of the Silver Hand, Vindicator, Deliver the Light, Shock Treatment, Protection of the Light, Blessings of the Silver Hand, Share the Burden, Justice through Sacrifice, The Light Saves, Power of the Silver Hand, Templar of the Light, Expel the Darkness, Focused Healing, Protection of Tyr.

The order listed above is currently what I believe is the best order for PvP, gaining our most useful artifact traits first. This section is open to opinion, but this is what I plan on doing.

I will update the guide about relics when I honestly figure out which are the best.

Arena Compositions

This section of the guide will be updated depending on how the meta shifts once legion goes live. Everyone has to keep in mind that at the beginning of the season, we will not have full gear, barely powered up artifact weapons, and will be trying out new comps.

What I can tell you about compositions so far is that you will want to play with either warriors, rogues, or fire mages. With one of these specs on your team you cannot go wrong.

Final Thoughts

If you made it this far, I hope you found something useful here. If not, I’ll keep updating the guide as more information becomes available. As I finish writing this guide, it is 5 days before the launch of Legion, and I’m hopeful that PvP will be in a good spot. If I’ve learned anything playing this game, play to have fun. Yea being competitive is awesome, but if you aren’t having fun doing it, then why are you doing it? That’s something I think about all the time. So the next time you interact with somebody online, or even in life, try to make a connection with them. Remember that all of your opponents are people, real human beings, and are probably just like yourself. Thanks for reading, and take care <3.

Quick sellout
I stream Holy Paladin as much as I can.

most people with a problem with boosting are too shit / too unknown to get regular boosts. Hence why they don't like it, people want what they can't have. Most players dont give two shits about whether or not duelist jimmy gets his title cause some big bad r1 player beat him one game at 2400 mmr :(

Oh. My. Fucking. God.

The moment a person actually starts to tolerate you and maybe think that you'll turn out alright in the end, you write shit like this. You're a lost fucking cause, aren't you ? Take it from someone who did more boosting than you've had chance to during your little Ele Shaman escapade - if you're doing it, at least don't be a dick about it. You can't honestly believe boosting is good for this game ?

Here's a personality trait I had before. I used to be extremely hostile towards some players ( who I guess you could call "new kids on the block" ) who got Gladiator/R1 in the past, mostly because I didn't deem them worthy enough ( If I'm > them, why did they get reward >= mine ? )

But even though I was bitter towards them, I've ACCEPTED them. And do you know why ? BECAUSE those players are what keeps ARENA alive.

We have two players, Bob and Murray.

Bob is a guy with 3000 arena games in this season, Bob is a solid Duelist, but he might have a shot at Gladiator in 1000ish more games.

Murray likes chasing tail more than playing arena, but Murray wants Gladiator. Murray decides to buy Gladiator.

Bob gets at the exact rating the cutoff is at. Murray's boost knocks Bob out. Murray walks around with the title, while Bob, a legitimate player who probably would've continued playing arena if not for scumbags, is left in dirt.

Sure, Bob can try next season, and he probably will, but he's been fucked out of a title he worked really hard for, while on another hand, Murray just got his Glad achievement, title and mount, and will probably never participate in arena again at all.

TL;DR - anyone who supports boosting in any way is fucking retarded.  Timeline of events :

- R1/Gladiator means something, is a prestigious thing to acquire in this game.

- more people start playing arena

- Gladiator cutoffs lower themselves each season ( not proportional to skill )

- morons start sharing R1 titles ( while claiming they don't care about them, interestingly enough they care about them so much they're willing to scout 24/7 and play hard to land at share rating )

- at one point, old, better players start separating themselves from new players ( community divided )

- new players' entry into highrated PvP scene becomes very hard

- boosting starts being a regular thing

- cheating becomes a regular thing

- DDOSing becomes a regular thing

- PvP quality continously declines

- "who gives a shit about this game omfg, new players suck, boosting cheating etc"

You're all fucking hypocrites, and more importantly, morons. Saying you give a shit about a pixelated title doesn't make you less of a person, and taking MASSIVE shits on the thing you love playing for the sake of "reputation" is basically taking shits on yourself. "Yeah man, my hobby totally blows, I'd rather eat hot horse shit than do it, but I'm still doing it". Bunch of imbeciles.

This post breaks none of the rules found under: http://www.arenajunk...-rules-2272014/, stop deleting it.

while slandering another poster might not be specifically against the rules, it's enough of a gray area for me to delete the thread to save us the drama it'll cause

if you want to accuse someone of ddosing/wintrading/cheating make sure to provide proof instead of just baseless claims. i have no problem with making the community aware of players they should avoid, just make sure to support your accusation with reasonable evidence

Not sure how Enhancement Shamans or Mistweaver monks are relevant in a discussion about Hunter balance. Basic game theory: you can always input Polymorph, and it always has to be stopped.

How many times have you lost because someone on your team was Polymorphed?

"Ah, sorry man. Couldn't stop that last Poly."

How many times have you lost because your Healer got trapped?

"We have to stop the trap, it's that simple."

I don't know how you just fail to recognize or quantify the fact that Trap has a cooldown, has to be aimed, and can receive counterplay after it has been casted when you're doing your comparison. Yours is targeted, can be cast freely and quickly enough to catch non-melee in a global. You can input Polymorph whenever you want. It is infinitely more valuable than Freezing Trap.

There's never a time when a Hunter thinks, "well I can't kill anyone for awhile, better just start running around pillars spamming this low risk, high reward ability"

Mages and Warlocks are the scum of the earth, but I hate Druids the most. All 3 of them are dishonorable.

Missing a trap can lose you the game. Missing a Polymorph might just cause you not to win. Bad Hunters miss traps, good Mages spam Polymorph.

What do you feel Hunter shouldn't have anyway? I can't think of one thing that's more than what Mage has. Roar of Sacrifice?

and omfg dillypoo getting me started about not even having a glyph to remove dots

ya lol not having dot wipe glyph was retarded. but imo would have been better to get rid of poly and blind clearing dots instead of just giving that glyph to hunters too. ccs like that should have a risk to them imo.

also the other thing on top of the trapping the yeah we should have stopped the last trap, im not joking when i say that if you're playing hunter this xpac it actually comes down to you just wyvern trapping more because there are way less ways to stop it.

there are a few hunters that i consider really fucking good like jellybeans who actually get punished in this xpac for trying to set up 3v1s. I'm not even joking when I say that there are many times right now where the harder you try to do something good and skillful on hunter you actually just get punished because the playstyle of the game right now is retarded.

No point in worrying about the risk of trapping and someone eating it when you can just wyvern. So in some situations I'd say that wyvern trap is actually better than poly. Oh also vs spriests I actually run into situations where it's like this. Oh shit I have wyvern and my scatter trap available. I could trap off a stun and scatter wyvern the priest so he can't stop the md on the trap, or I could just wyvern into trap and the priest cant md it so his godcomp druid has to use trinket or block to get out, and after that wyvern I'll half trap. Who cares if he MD's the half trap, now my team mate has potential to get a fear without md and since I wyverned first I have scatter available to help him set up his fear instead.

Like idk if it's just me but the style of the entire expansion is fucked up when the last example is better in a lot of situations. Maybe it's just me, but for the most part the one thing that actually made me feel like I was improving in MoP was when I actually stopped trying to do things that were good and smart and instead did whatever was more brainless simple and stupid and has less risk to it.

Since there has been a lot of drama recently, I figured I would make a TL;DR thread for those of you that have successful real lives and can't sit on ArenaJunkies 24/7.

The North American Regional Qualifiers:
  • Hosted by ESL (the same company that organized the holocaust)
  • 2800 players qualify but only 50 Teams signed up
  • No seeding and random placement meant some popular teams eliminated each other right of the bat
  • Zero interaction with Blizzard, even after the ESL website wasn't working
  • People suspect Blizzard will be asking for some of the money they paid ESL back, since ESL apparently completely forgot that they were supposed to hold this tournament
Vanguards team gets knocked out because of a "no-show":
  • Timestamp does show that Vanguards team was almost 30 minutes late to their match
  • They claim they had no idea the time they were supposed to play
  • Poor organization and almost no help from ESL admin, many people think they didn't deserve the loss
  • Vanguards, being the least confrontational person in existence, made a nice forum post saying how he is slightly angry that he missed out on a chance for $40,000 USD
Jah's team gets knocked out and tries to get back in on a technicality, twice:
  • Claims his first loss was not actually the "real" game and only practice
  • Screenshots show his team agreeing it was the real game
  • Some people claim that after his second loss he tried to contact tournament admin and get it changed
  • Talbadar is "disappointed" in jah
  • Jah, unsurprisingly, calls everyone "retards" and hasn't been seen since
Wizk's team cheats and has other players, not on their roster, play:
  • By far the biggest drama generating event of the tournament
  • Wizk, Jakenotezz, and Random rogue decided to play RPS in tournament
  • Upon tournament brackets coming out, they realize they will have to fight comps that are strong against them
  • Wizk realizes that it would be too obvious to ddos his opponents, he determines he will have to come up with another way to cheat
  • Wizk replaces his rogue and rsham with an rdruid and mage who are not on his team roster and then wins multiple games (it is assumed that the mage was played by, "Piecez," and the druid by, "Rynd")
  • People (obviously) realize what is happening and he gets disqualified for cheating
  • Wizk then cries, makes a 40 minute video about why he didn't cheat, no one believes him
  • Jakenotezz, then makes a post on AJ admitting that they cheated, apologizing, and says he only did it to bang his 18 y/o e-girlfriend when he goes to New York
  • Wizk then claims he is too good for this community
  • Wizk locks in his spot next to Xandyn in the "top 5 scummiest wow players of all time"
  • Randomroguex is mad that no one knows who he is, doesn't understand the concept of why cheating is bad, and is apparently a part of some "elite cheaters club"
Multiple teams Disqualified after the tournament ends based on their geographical location:
  • Apparently it was easier to allow these people to play in the tournament and then disqualify them after they won
  • Raises multiple questions about the outcome of the tournament, since the teams who got DQ'ed knocked people out of the tournament
  • The dominant team of Jeff, Barry, and Twochainz is rumored to be one of the teams DQ'ed
Avangelyne proves he is really weird:
  • Made multiple weird posts about having a girlfriend
  • Multiple awkward tweets involving, but not limited to: old memes, obscure Norwegian cover bands, and History channel TV shows
  • All of this is okay though, because according to him, he "has a lot of friends"
Former 3rd place Blizzcon team, "PvP Live" replaces healer the night before qualifiers:
  • but apparently forget to tell him he is off the team
  • Famous monk, "Dannycarey" is replace by other famous monk, "Verdantstorm"
  • Novoz and Thugonomicz imply that Dannycarey is part of something (Illuminati?)
  • Dannycarrey still hasn't run out of mana
  • Surprisingly, Glinks didn't cheat or try to ddos anyone
  • Nice work, Glinks
World of Warcraft PvP Designer, "Holinka" no where to be found:
  • A week has gone by since his last sighting
  • Police have decided to end the search
  • His family stays hopeful
Arena Junkies:
  • Datacus tries really hard to get some free rep, fails miserably
  • For the first time in over a year, people are capped out on giving rep
  • If you point out any scummy things that friends of the moderators have done, you will be getting an infraction
  • Flavour is still making stupid posts
  • Dillypoo's insults have been getting noticeably better over time, possibly hitting puberty soon?
  • Bigmoran tries to dispel ddos rumors by threatening to ddos anyone who talks about it
  • Thugonomicz believes that Arenajunkies.com is actually "Horse cocks"
  • Bailamos dropped in to insult Jakenotezz for having an e-girlfriend, the irony is palpable
  • More wintrading in EU, no one is surprised
  • The "scummy dozen" continue to rep each-other in an attempt to make it seem like they have some community support
  • Ayra is still black, and still european
