the main thing i want to point out is that nowadays everyone just buys the full pvp set and be done with it and doesn't have to invest time into learning and trying out whats best for their class, when before everyone was theorycrafting about certain pve parts combined with pvp parts and trinket combo's etc etc.
i even liked the previous talent systems better since every tree for my classes has one "talent" thats pretty much almost always the best.
sure a lot will propably say that gear shouldn't matter and it's al about the efficiency of how well u use every global and positioning etc etc, but with the removal of a lot of niche skills/talents and certain effects from skills from every class it has become pretty straight forward.
the intelectual lvl required to play this game is so god damn low it's depressing.
maybe with the developers they put extra on wow from the rebooted titan project it's going to be more interesting, but i doubt it.
I'd like to address this reply specifically. You are bias because you are an above average wow player. How long have you been playing the game? I've played it since the start. You need to realize you and me are a minority, a very tiny minority of wow players. You probably played multiple seasons of arena and you probably learned something new and improved every season. You need to realize the things you do now are super easy for you because you have everything figured out. Get your gf to make an account to play alongside you. Even if she's not retarded how long is it going to take her to play on your level?
Another example: I've been doing raids since wow came out. I stopped being a raider in ICC though. My guild sometimes invites me to help them in a random heroic encounter in ToT and I never have problem following the mechanics. I don't even find them challenging. Yet majority of people struggle to do heroics. But I've come to realize that having 8 years of raiding experience have put me at a point where I can do stuff without thinking about it. When you first start playing you have to THINK about not standing in shadowtraps. You play now you just reflex move out of them without a thought. I am at a point where it's probably nearly impossible to throw a wow mechanic at me that I would have difficulty with.
We are at a point where we know the game so well we see its flaws. The thing is, the game always had flaws, many more than it does now, we were just too inexperienced to notice or care about. But the more we play it the less tolerant we get of the flaws and more easily bored.
