The advantage to this is that you can have your plan of attack before the gates even open and rush in as opposed to hanging back for the first 30-45 seconds.

Takes 12 seconds to lifetap yourself and then hellfire for the last tick to kill yourself. Your partner starts casting rez which takes 10 seconds, your ghost starts out in the middle of the arena so by the time the rez gets off you've already found out who you are facing. This leaves you AT LEAST 30 seconds to summon a soulwell and get a pet out. You may miss out on DI/UB and VW sac but being able to rush the opposing team with a plan of attack outweighs that IMO.
