never understood the reason with all the ,exists, nodead [harm] shit:/ just make a normal /cast [target=focus] Wind Shear and get it over with

Why limit yourself to just being able to use the macro in one situation?

How does it limit a person?

If all the macro has is "/cast [target=focus] Wind Shear" you won't be able to use it in any other situation except your focus being a valid target for Wind Shear. With just a few extra characters in the macro it's still usable to Wind Shear in some very few, yet existant circumstances.

It's not limitting someone as in "not possible to use Wind Shear in any other circumstance" cause obviously you can use another bind but I don't see why a simple focus macro is better than one with more options built in.

I still don't get it.

Either you wind shear your focus target, or you don't? If they are dead or los, you won't try do it because you obviously know that?

I surely hope you have a bind seperate for wind shear as well.?

One macro = one keybind, one macro + non-macro'd spell = two keybinds.

I don't understand why you don't get it, it's obvious and useful

so what happens when your focus is alive and you want to wind shear your target?
Oh right, you can't because you don't have 2 keybindings.

What Jabi says.

I simply don't see how it can limit someone or be more useful.

Help me out wise Sindelle.

Well, I can because I macro'd it differently (with modifier), I guess it's considered as two keybinding, but at least I can use it when I don't have a focus.

Do whatever you want, I don't really care

edit: btw jabi, no need to be arrogant, we're talking about a game right now...

Just tell me, what is the difference between two seperate keybindings, as my shock is R and shift R and then your sick modifier?

Not completely directed to you, but those who said I limit myself?

I am still curious.

E: Wind Shear focus macro
Alt+E: Wind Shear target macro (same macro as above)

#showtooltip Wind Shear
/cast [target=focus,nomod:alt,harm,nodead][] Wind Shear

If I have a focus target, it will wind shear them. If I don't (in a bg for instance), I don't have to use my second keybinding.

I can still wind shear my target even if I have a focus.

That's a pathetic argument.

It works the same in arena, and it also works in duels/bg/whatever.

Whatever, I'm done, I don't see why I should explain it to you when you obviously think your way is the best

I am not saying my way is better, I am curious why other people say I limit by using my way? There is a huge difference in that.

Take care my wise friend Sindelle.

Why should tooltip, if you keybind it doesn't matter :P!

But if you do #showtooltip it assumes the icon of whatever tooltip you decided to show, no need to look for it in that fucking mess of icons then :)

Presuming you chose the "?" icon.

Everyone probably runs with multiple Wind Shears. All I wonder is why just use the one Wind Shear without anything else. I mean, why not complete the macro eventhough there's probably no extra use for it? That's just how I see it.
Could be something as inane as your focus getting dropped by Shadowmeld or whatever. Likely you'd use your normal Wind Shear bind but if you could use your focus Wind Shear for normal Wind Shear in those events as well, why not?

I don't mean something is better than something else but I just rather have something that just seems more complete, even just in writing, eventhough it might be useless to add. But it can't hurt.

E: Perhaps limitting yourself was a bad choice of words cause a useless argument over a useless subject :)

Because if we don't have a target focused then the macro won't even work.

In bgs for example I wanna be able to wind shear with only one button, but when I choose to focus not have to make another button

You could do it like this otherwise
