Smoothping and the registry fix should "stack". Registry fix makes your packets send asap instead of sending big packets. Smoothping just gives you a "VIP tunnel" and is not the same thing as the registry fix.

They do stack if you live in another country playing in the US. Registry fix alone gives me 170ms to East coast servers, with Smoothping I'm down to 100-120 ping.

As posted by Megatf.. Leatrix Latency Fix:

http://www.wowinterf...LatencyFix.html

moonies told me to use it, so i did and it reduced my ms from ~300 to ~100.

I think it basically just does the reg fix for you?

Isn't this the infamous TCP ACK fix?
Yes, but it's packaged in a neat little script which will make the required changes for you, so you don't need to go messing about with the registry.

Used the regedit thing, tried smoothping and wtfast, though they just double my latency. Sitting at 60ms without anything, gief 20ms! >:C

I've been doing a bit of research, and I was wondering if any of you use programs/regedit tricks to help lower your ping.

I'm on vista, and a lot of the fixes are pretty damn old, and I know there's a thread in general but I don't trust dks or rogues.

The registry fix halved my latency (~150-200 down to 60-90). Using Vista 32 bit.

Bye again! This game isn't fun when you don't know anyone else that still plays.
