Ignoring the current bugs in the dispel mechanics (to call them dodgy would be an understatement) of Silent Resolve, I'm testing out 5/5 SR and 0/0 Imp Fort. I'm doing the same on test realm (where SR is fixed).

I'm finding a noticeable difference in my buffs/spells being dispeled/purged than before (and even better on test realm where it's in working order). I've found this to be extremely useful in 5v5 when I get bop'ed for example. I usually have a shield, renew, and sometimes a ProM on. When I get bop'ed I toss up Fade and ToW as well. I notice a significant delay in my bop coming off as compared to before (facing the same teams, mind you).

However, I've been getting a lot of negative feedback about this ranging from "LOLOLOL SILENT RESOLVE" to "What the hell are you thinking, imp fort is a 100% must - drop points from mental agility or absolution for it". I'm not seeing it guys, I'm really not. It's what, 230hp? And that's if it doesn't get dispeled. I just don't see how 230hp compares to 20% dispel resistence for all of your buffs, self buffs, and things like shield, renew, prom, fade, etc.

So has anyone else test out full SR? If so, how do you like it? Or on the other side - do you think I'm completely batshit for dropping imp fort for SR?

I think you might see a lot of people switch over to silent res once they put the patch in. However despite the fact that you make a good argument against Imp fort point out that its only 230 hp the people who tell you to find the points other places might be right.

I hafta say though, you've got me thinking.

so what exactly did they change about silent resolve on ptr? and i heard they were gonna be changing something about pain suppression in the future like it will have chance to not get dispell % increased just for having the talent not just when u activate ps, any truth to that?

Well, it's not entirely broken. The mechanic just doesn't always apply itself correctly. Because I've had many times where it works and many where it doesn't. It's very hit or miss, but I'm definitely going to say still worth the points.

It does work 100% of the time on test realm. It takes (on average) 3-5 dispels to get off fort/spirit/shadow prot/inner fire/touch of weakness.

find the points from what other places? absolution? mental agility?

That's the general consensus.

As it is I have 2/3 in absolution...why would I want to give up 10% mana reduction on dispel/mass dispel for 230hp? It's really not THAT great. We've suffered no ill effects since my respec, and in fact, have done better.

How does dropping Imp Fort get you SR though? You'd need to free up 3 more points somewhere.

this is a whole other can of worms for us shadow folk. The points we have to play with in disc are pretty low and thus imp fort would probably have to go to get 5/5 sr
