Blood of the North is intended to be a 3 point talent in 3.1. Acclimation isn't worth it in my opinion, and the 2 minutte cooldown triggered on pet death makes it less attractive.

Death Strike damage has been lowered, it now deals 60% weapon damage (down from 75%) plus 178.4 (down from 222.75) for Rank 5

yup, time to check out frost.

What the hell are they doing with Death Strike? They went to great lengths to effectively replace Obliterate with DStrike for Blood, and now they're nerfing it back down again without reapplying MoM to Obliterate?

The HEALING on the skill needed a nerf, not the damage. The only thing I can think of which would be logical is that they're somehow going to account for the damage nerf through some other means.

They probably realized it's easier to balance DKs about a single tree so they made sure nobody ever specs into Blood. Frost has already been nerfed and will probably get nerfed into uselessness as well.

Kelberotz's team really wrecked us, and I have a few things that I'd like to try in retrospect but magic dispel > CoI/HC and dots > Hunters/Paladins. I'm actually more confident in our ability to handle this comp post-3.1; lacking an undispellable snare other than a static trap made it hard to keep both of them locked down at once - we ate too many fears because I just couldn't keep them snared. We ended up playing too defensively and invariably losing after trinkets/bubble were down, but the games were fun and we did have a few close 1v1/2v2 situations.

Basically, if we peel a little better and time our swaps to the pet as effectively as we have been, I think we won't get rolled as badly as we did, but no matter what you have a pretty good chance against DK/Pal/Hunter as shadowplay (imo.)
