I havnt played beta, so dont have much of an idea how things are at 80, but how does this spec seem?

How good is the Gargoyle? is it worth taking for Arenas?

I'd go with something like http://wotlk.wowhead...fMGh0rkreqocoub

Unholy blight really isn't that useful for arenas, especially since it isn't counted as a disease anymore.  Mark of Blood, on the other hand, is extremely useful.  You could take out 5 points from unholy for toughness, but you'd lose a pretty hefty amount of dmg in the process.

Gargoyle hits like a truck.  I suspect it will get nerfed at some point.

my solid hybrid/unholy focus build

Missing out of mark of blood sucks, but lichborne is too valuable to give up imo.

I'd do something more like this http://wotlk.wowhead...f0GI0fkbeqocouo

gotta have anti magic zone in a deep unholy build.

stupidest post ever.  not only did you not get imp runetap, which you NEED if you're gonna take rune tap, pretty much wasting all ur points in blood, but you managed to skip magic suppresion (yes, 100% less magic dmg taken is very good) and anti magic zone. gj

So i have been playing around on beta for the last few days on my DK. Although I really like frost, I find unholy with rune tap to be vastly superior. I was getting raped in arena's last night. Normally, I dealt about half the dmg of an unholy Dk.

Though it was my first night in arena and i was slow on my buttons... unholy dmg was was clearly superior.   Maybe frost with hungering cold in a group will bring some nice cc for arena but even then it may not be enough.

Almost every DK i saw was unholy blood.

TBH the lower tier blood talents might be better spent in icy talons imo.

not really...rune tap and imp rune tap are pretty key talents for the DK in pvp. If you want to spec mainly unholy I would suggest something along the lines of a 18/0/53 build or maybe 21/0/50, anything in between works too...but at least 18 in blood for imp rune tap if you are planning on mainly pvping

Unholy Aura? means you can enchant your boots with the AP enchant instead of the upgraded Boar's Speed... helps when being kited too :)

you get the speed bonus from being in unholy presence. aura just gives it to your teammates

Unholy presence costs a rune if you're spending most of your time in blood.  Aura is always up, no matter what presence you're in, for you and your teammates.

I don't use Unholy Presence in PvP... guess it must be different for other people.

I thought most people use unhole presence for pvp. .5 sec off the GCD (and the speed bonus) totally makes up for the loss in DPS imo

"Most" people haven't had a chance to play a deathknight.  Generalizations about presence are bad right now.

There is a very valid tradeoff between 15% damage from blood and the 1s GCD from unholy (15% white haste is marginal at best and really is only good at times when the 1s gcd isn't).  Especially in a spec (unholy) that typically has dead time even in an optimal rotation, the 1s gcd isn't necessarily the end-all be-all of presence choice.

My point was simply, regardless of personal preference, and even when you're in frost presence because you're being focused, unholy aura still gives that move speed.  Pretty much, if you have unholy aura, you will never kick yourself for not having your boots enchanted while you're moving 100% speed in frost presence.
