What would you spec a rogue if you had terrible gear (lol s2)?

as long as you have 100+ dps weapons and you have all of your talent points spent, you will do fine just let the mage kill every opponent and assist here and there (mages are this insane now...)

For 42/5/14:

I have 2/3 in Serrated blades, but I've seen 2/2 in elusiveness. I went with SB for the damage, is it really noticable though? I'm thinking the choice sits on either I want utility, or shorter CD's on my utilities rather, or a bit of damage. But not sure which would be better, I dont want to lose Serrated blades if it rocks socks lol. Any theory crafting on this?

16/2/43 imo for best ss variant

http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=f

-vigor and full 5 in lethality imo.

-the norm in sub tree except pull 1 from master of deception if u use shadowsong panther. 2 in filthy tricks---come wrath it'll b 3 min preparation w/ glyph.

-2 filler points in whatever. i chose 2 in dual wield(now tier 1 talent) for OH dmg increase.

***DO NOT SPEC LOLDANCE it hurts my eyes. no dedicated bar, sloppy macro switches, just not worth it pre 80 imo.

If you want to use sinister strike as your main source of damage i'd say get all the goodies in combat.

unless you want to use sinister strike with shadow step? But i'd say hemo is better for that

"Loldance" 5/5/51 is just better than your spec.

You got alot more combopoints, you got alot better dmg/energy on your hemos and you got alot more white dmg.

If you absolutly have to go 11/0/50 SftS and HaT are just to good to pass up on if you go down in sub deep enoth to get shadowstep.

Oh and leathality is one of the worst dmg talents.

hey guys been trying to find a decent spec for arena again, loved playing ShS, have tryed most of the mutilate builds and Sdance builds. didn't quite like mutilate, Sdance seemed ok, but not too keen on the additional actionbar swap or additional keybinds. was thinking of going

http://wotlk.wowhead...xZe0fdhhddVzAco

or

http://wotlk.wowhead...ZZe0fdhhddVzA0o
would it be viable at all? or is it still a guess and go with it think.

Cheers

As said before, Lethality isn`t worth it to dropp HaT and SftS for it.

For LV 70, you really can ignore the 30% dispell chance since it`s only a RNG factor and with bad luck, this gives you nothing. The poison apply chance is high enough at the moment.

To shadowdance: I just made a new shadowdance bar and binded it with alt+[ ] since my keybindings are mostly with CTRL and SHIFT.

I do think this mut. w/o HfB build is awesome, pplz tend to underestimate focused attacks that can generate an insane amount of energy, can replace relentless strikes all by itself IMO, I personaly propose this build :

feel free to reply and try to upgrade upgrade it.

Wouldn't you get alot more dps if you dropped a point from the Assa tree to 1 point to make 5/5 Duel Wield Spec because it helps mutilate dmg (offhand) and all your other offhand hits by an additional 10%

mut mut mut

mut mut mut

Remade a warrior/healer team in 3.02, the only rogues who scare me are mut, not sure what they did to the damage vs. plate, but they seem to do more damage to me than I do to them, even when evasion is down.

Being able to get both dw spec and opportunity at the same time+better scaling finishers is a 15%+ increase in dmg over old school mutilate.

Add some extra energy regen, alot better poisondmg and the fact that armor pen got better against a warrior but alot worse against rogues.

Other things to consider is that its alot easier to mutilate a warrior without position req.

I also find it easier to keep healdebuff up with mutilate now than before.

Sure warriors gained sudden death and short cd OP and some other stuff but in a situation like that they lost there 25% enrage and i know they have to spend alot of globals on hamstring now without piercing howl and snare duration reduced.

Last but not least.
Dismantle.

All I know is that healer/warrior vs. healer/rogue, a warrior gets wrecked going toe to toe with a mut rogue, the only way to win is to RNG the healer, pretty screwed up.

1st of, I will not have access to good daggers before LK. So I was playing around and I might try this (7/0/54)-spec, based around more CC/silence and more garrote-dmg due 2 shadow dance:

http://www.wowhead.c...ZebfbhhddqzAcot
with Glyph of Garrote:
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=42964

Thats a 20% + 30% + 20% = 70% (or 87.2% if u count them as 1.2x1.3x1.2) dmg increas on a garrote that last 15sec instead of 18sec

I will play mostly with as war/rog now. This spec should let me put up some good bleed dmg and ShDance lets u lock down a healer with CS(4sec) -> Garrote (3sec) -> KS (6sec).

Prem + Initiative + HaT will probably let u use 2 finishers on the bleed target (Rupture+EA) and between CS and KS on the healer, puting some presure during the lockdown.

All theory for now, but what do you think?
