This will be a wall of text btw about the latest hotfix so if you are not interested - don't read.

Okay, so I've been seeing a lot of people claiming that FoF got buffed after the latest hotfix. And yes, in the notes it "says" that FoF got buffed but Blizzard clearly fucked up the templates and I'll show you why aswell. My proof isn't the best because I tried to go over Pre-hotfix VoDs aswell as Post-hotfix VoDs on my Twitch to see if I ever faced the same guy in both examples.

Sadly I only have about 10 games on my Twitch post-hotfix so I couldn't find an example where it was the same person who I used FoF on but I did find a spec I did hit both pre- and post-hotfix, which was Survival Hunter.

I wasn't sure how to post this so I'll just take a Screenshot of my Notepad when I reviewed the vods to see how much the FoF ticks hit for.

Basically I typed the Hunters name + his health just to show they were similar ilvl / gearwise so that wouldn't matter. The numbers are the FoF ticks I could see from the Vods, some FoF's only have 3 ticks while some have more. This is because either I couldn't see how much the actual numbers hit for or the FoF got interrupted.

Something that matters aswell when you use FoF is your Hit Combo talent (1 stack of Hit combo = 2% increased OVERALL dmg, 8 stacks of Hit Combo = 2*8 = 16% Increased overall dmg. In all examples I had full stacks of Hit combo so it doesn't matter that much. But I just wanted to clarify. The other thing is Monks artifact trait called "Transfer the power" which increases FoF dmg by 3% each time you use Blackout kick / Rising sun kick, and the maximum stacks you can have are 10.

After looking at these results you can see that the pre hotfix FoF ticks hit for more than the post hotfix ticks + they hit for more when I have less transfer the power stacks which means FoF should hit for less basically. And unless Rets have a way to reduce the incoming dmg for his hunter which I don't think they have + I have asked rets and they said they didn't aswell then this means that FoF did get nerfed.

I have also spoken to both Voltariux and Fopsy after the Hotfix and both of them agree with me that FoF did get nerfed.

Here are the links to the Vods in the notepad since you can't copy them in the picture. (Source)

1st example: https://www.twitch.t...530?t=01h13m22s

2nd example: https://www.twitch.t...530?t=01h14m45s

3rd example: https://www.twitch.t...671?t=01h13m30s

4th example: https://www.twitch.t...671?t=01h13m30s

You are more than welcome to go over the vods yourself to see if there are more examples or even if I hit higher on hunters post hotfix but these where the examples I could find where a hunter didnt have ironbark/sac on themselves which obviously matter when you try to see the FoF ticks. I also tried to use examples where I did not use Serenity.

The current template should be;

Windwalker PvP Template Primary: 64%

Fists of Fury deals 87% damage in PvP

Strike of the Windlord deals 60% damage in PvP

Transfer the Power is 43% less effective (1.7% per stack, up to 17% increased damage) Serenity increases damage by 29%

Mastery: 14%

Versatility: 11%

Critical Strike: 28%

Haste: 24%

Which is roughly the same overall damage from the previous template which had

Strike of the Windlord deals 61% damage in PvP

Fist of Fury deals 68% damage in PvP

The two changes I didn't document because I didn't have a timestamp for were;

Transfer the Power was 3% damage per stack (which lasted for a few weeks, it was 1.6%, but I dont have the exact date it went back up)

Serenity was 24% increased damage (and I dont have the exact date it went to 29%)

If your still getting numbers consistent to what your seeing then let me know. From what I have written and what I'm wearing in game everything appears to be correct but as far as I'm aware stat increases are on a per slot basis ie. a 900 ilvl neck increases your stats by x.xx% as opposed to gaining an increase of 1% when you go from 850 -> 851 ilvl for example.

For this reason theres always going to be a margin of error (why I have sotwl listed as a 1% reduction, when in reality its more than likely smaller than 1% or the damage is unchanged).

Two of your VODs were showing 404 errors for me, the other two I watched and the template I have was consistent with what I saw in game.

I've been extremely busy and I'm sorry it took me so long to see this despite it being linked to me sometime last week.
