So friend of my parents has a friend who let us stay at their beach house that had several guest bedrooms and it was pretty nice. It's also on a river leading into the beach, so they get like a double neato there.
Among the rules for guests was no putting pictures online 'cause they had some expensive stuff including first edition books. I thought their library would be neat but it wasn't really my thing, quite a few jesus-y books, books with "America" in the title, and even a book by Dick Cheney. Their refrigerator also had a picture of Reagan with an inspirational-ish quote under it. This made sense of the overall decoration style which included multiple wood sculptures of eagles and just generally gave off a republican vibe.
They also had a shuffleboard, a toilet with a remote control, a dining area with one of those super long tables and other quirky rich people stuff.
Disappointing though, was the lack of a piano(I've started learning) and a scotch-less liquor cabinet.
Overall it was an okay experience, the novelty wore off pretty quickly and the beach wasn't really an exciting one. I like beaches with tidepools to see creatures in more than just your typical sand -> water beach. Our dog had fun running around sniffing shells and chasing off seagulls though.
The town we were in wasn't super amazing either, but the places we ate at weren't bad - albeit overpriced but I guess that's just how the beach is. I ordered a couple drinks that the server didn't know how to make, but she just made them with directions from me which was kind of amusing. She asked if I was a bartender and I said "no" and my brother said "he's an enthusiast". Top kek.
